hello i wonder if anyone can help me? im an absaloute begginer at all this! im trying to find out if there is a programe out there that i can delete vocals from a downloaded track or from a normal cd. ie to make it just instrumental. thanks steve.

How do I find another forum

How does 1 find another forum that actually answers questions that are asked. This is a big ole' heap of dookie. The answers are vague, arrogant, or just beating around the bush. Do any of these regulars really know anything about music software discussion? It does'nt seem so. If you get pissed at what I'm saying you are probally guilty of being one of these posers. Maybe you should put a little more effort in your replies to newbies than a cheezy response that wont help them with shit. If your responses are understandable and gain results (for those who might idolize what little insight you are gracious enough to share), you are probally not a poser.

There has always been a lack of sensible questions to answer around here. Most people complain at people spamming, asking dumb questions or questions clearly answered in the FAQ's.

It's quite surprising to see someone moan about the people that bother to come here and answer questions in their own spare time.

Passport Encore trouble

hi, i'm not sure if anyone will be able to help me with this but i have encore and i've written a heap of stuff on it but when i transferred my files from one computer to another all the files come up with "error, invalid format" or something like that

Troublesome bass lines

I am an aspiring producer, I got some tight beats but when I try to mix them down the bass lines keep being too loud and there is a straining when you increase the levels of the volume. I make my beats in Fruity Loops 3.56 then export them track by track( instument by instument) as wave files then import them into Cubase Sx. I mostly work in Cubase but I also have Sonar 2.0 XL and Sound Forge 6.0. I'm new to this. I can make the beats but to mix them down, that I cant do. I have a lot of plugins, the most popular ones so if I can use any please tell. I don't really have any non PC hardware. If you know of any useful studio equipment that aren't too expensive please tell. I'm new to this recording thing but I love it and I really want to do it so if you know how to produce I'd love top learn.

I am also a user of fruityloop 3.56 and had this same problem. What I do now is make a track keeping the master volume very low. This prevents overall distortion. Then When the track is complete I export it as a .wav and use a wave editor eg "creative wave lab" or "cool edit", and use the "normalize" function. This makes the whole track the average volume of a track on a cd and so is then ready to distribute.

Are you compressing the Bass in any way? Compressing the drums??

Without hearing the music, it's very hard to guess your problem. The common ones are people using compression crudely. Not observing the available space at the bottom end (bass end) of a mix and trying to fit in too many boomy sounds. Eq is a powerful tool that can fix the boomy bottom end of a mix and ruin it equally.

Yes let a normal boy trip over his short career and become a hasbeen like me.....Remember poison? Yeah that was me playing the accordian before they got famous and stranded me at this truck-stop. I wish I never tripped over my own underoos and fell in this potty. (can someone help me get out) Thank goodness a turd gave me tha hookup and let me borrow its laptop.

Trial and error is about the only way because you'd be removing sound frequencies that may also be occupied by the drum track.

Akai S2000 scsi port

Hello, i need to know how am i going to connect my Akai S2000 sampler to my mac via the USB port so that i can use MESA. Is there a way to connect the SCSI poert to the USB?

How can i use the S200 to a PC to use MESA for PC. The PC is not detecting my sampler.

I agree with Homershines.

I use an ADAPTEC SCSI PCi card in my Mac G4 and communicate with my Yahama sampler through editing programs, like Peak..

My friend has connected his S2000's to his old grey box Mac and it worked perfectly..

You can get a USB to SCSI interface for your Mac. You could also get a SCSI PCI card if you have the right Mac. Check out OWC for more info on that. Their web address is www.macsales.com

Roland MC50MK II sequencer programme

If it's a Mac, I've seen how some files are SMF files, but are not recognized. I can't explain it, but it has to do with some weird thing with the writing of them. There are some old programs that seem to straighten that out. Midi File Convertor and Midi Typer.

They should be available for download here.
