You can put any recorded material on CD if you have the cords to connect the source to the computer, cassetes, vinyl albums, reel to reel, even VHS video tapes. You need "MUSICMATCH" program, look at advanced recorder options in the help menue.
Re: Is there a way to put my audio tapes onto cd via computer?
It's easy to do. Connect the headphone socket of your tape player to the input of your soundcard. Record the sound as a WAV file, then burn this to a CD.
Cool Edit will record WAV files and allow you to edit them.

I believe that if Randy is asking this question in the first place, he needs to know more than Andy has told him.
For instance, where is the input to the sound card located? Is it on the front panel of the tower or in the back? Will he have to open the tower to access the input to the sound card?

Tascam da88 multitrack recorder for sale
If anyone is interested in a hardly used Tascam DA 88 digital multitrack recorder (only about 350 hrs of use) for $1000 ,e-mail me at RobertBaumer@cs.com for more details
Re: Tascam da88 multitrack recorder for sale
I might be interested in the DA 88, If you still have it? I noticed you're asking $1000.00 for it, If you still have it you may need to cut that price in half. I'm looking for one for spare parts, but they have droped in value to @ $ 500.00
Let mw know if you still have it and if you do what you're asking for it. Thanks, I hope to hear back from you.
Tune1000 to Korg hard drive
Can anyone tell me how I can load a standard midi file from disk onto my Korg 01/W hard drive. I have cake walk and I have a couple tune1000 disks and I can't get the korg to read or load either of them., so that I may save it in a Korg instrument format, with it's indtruments instead of the standard midi instruments.

I have a soundblaster 5 live, I got given a Casio Midi Keyboard for it by a friend. I have linked it up with the leads to the midi port at the back and configured it as much as i could, but still nothing.. someone said i might need a driver for the souncard or the casio keyboard, if this is true, what do i need to be able to input it correctly?

DONT FORGET YOUR OUT GOES TO THE IN AND THE IN GOES TO THE OUT ON YOUR MIDI INTERFACE CABLES.
YOU CAN ALSO GO WITH A DIRECT LINE IN. MAKE SURE TO GET STEREO JACKS. YOUR CREATIVE LAUNCHER HAS A MIXER, IT WILL ALLOW YOU TO CONFIGURE FOR MANY INSTRUMENTS AND TASKS. RADIO SHACK HAS THE JACKS YOULL NEED. TO DO A LINE-IN, GET A STEREO CABLE
SO THAT YOU WILL HAVE SOUND ON BOTH CHANNELS,IF YOUR KEYBOARD INPUT/OUTPUT PLUG IS BIGGER THAN THE ONE ON YOUR SOUND CARD, YOU CAN GET ADAPTERS.
Re: midi help!
Okay.. First thing you need is check the midi cable.. The one labled OUT goes to the midi in on the keyboard. The one labled IN goes to the midi out on the keyboard. This could be reversed depending on how your midi cables are labled. from there, it is just a matter or assigning a midi channel to each of the voices you want to play on the casio and assigning the track to that channel just like sequencing the virtual synths.

Registration
Hi,I have just downloaded and installed your CD-recorder.I'd like to have it registered.I have been unable to find the site to do it.Please let me know how to get it registered.Regards-J.Pathi
Re: Registration
Hi, There are several CD recording programs on Shareware Music Machine so Im not sure which one your talking about. The best thing to do is to take a look in the readme file which will be in the directory of the program. There you should find all the details you need to register the program.

Wav quality
How can I change the KHZ or Bitrate of a wav file? (As I don't have the original file I can't re-encode it
;-)
thanx
Re: Wav quality
Cool Edit 2000 or 96 can convert bitrates of WAV files. It'll do up to 48kHZ. It will also convert from 8 to 16 bit (or vice versa).

the same with me, i know yhat there is only a possibility to run the card with win 98, there is no run for win 2000 or xp. my pc is very weak, 350mhz, 64mb ram, is it possible to run the card on such a comp.?
thanx for an answer katrin
Re: maxi studio Isis soundcard
Katrin,
I'm currently running the card on my wife's old PII 333, which I just 'upgraded' to 128MB ram by snarfing a chip from another old box.
The card should perform fine with Cool Edit, which should have come with the card.
Logic Audio Isis is MUCH more finicky and difficult to use, but interesting once you jump a few hurdles. To get your machine to work with Logic, make sure you do the following:
1. Run add/remove programs and see if there's a 'yamaha soft synth' installed. If it's there, UNINSTALL it. It's a memory hog and Logic won't even get off the ground if it's there.
2. Right-click on My Computer on your desktop and then click Properties. Somewhere there's a setting for graphics/hardware accelleration. Slide that down to 'basic acceleration'.
3. Go into Control Panel and double-click on Multimedia. Click on the Audio tab and then click the Advanced button for sound playback. Click on the Performance tab and move the hardware acceleration slider down to 'basic acceleration'.
Doing these things should help you free up what memory you have. Also ask around at work or wherever to see if any friends have memory from old pc's. There's tons of it floating around if you can find it!
Lastly, on the software end, try Magix 'Audio Studio' program. www.magix.com, I believe. It's got a midi program that's based on Logic and a whopping-great audio program that's based on Samplitude, and it works fine with the Isis, so long as you're running win95, 98, or ME. All for about 70-$80 American. Try Amazon.com and you might get it even cheaper. That package is the best-kept secret in recording if you ask me!
Have fun, and if all else fails stick with Cool Edit. That program has VERY low over-head, memory and processor wise, and you have a great recording system right there if you can get over the absense of midi and real-time effects. If you get a new system later on, you can still keep that old machine with the Isis for those rare occasions when you really need the 8 tracks, then you

These cards nowadays can be found on ebay for a very small amount of money. Unfortunately, soundcard companies are going out of business all the time, seems with the advent of new windows upgrades or poor business practices. This card is a jewel but you are limited (if you can call it that) by Win 98,me, etc. Its a matter of navigation and setting the default on the midi side as well as setting your wave recorders parameters. IT works fantastic, I recommend this card to anyone interested.
