direct x plugins?

Hi everybody
How do you use direct X plugins for sound processing
I play guitar and wanted to use my pc as an effect processor. Downloaded some efx programs but all of them didnt workd well
Later i downloaded some .dll plugins that are vst plugins
also downloaded a direct X plugin called revalver.
What program is usedto make them work?
any help would be really aprecciated

Ok
i downloaded sound forge 6
but I dont know how to add the direct x plugins to the program
and how do you use effects while playing the guitar?

Re-valver is a very fun program. That one comes with it's own real time processing program, but even with a low-latency sound card you can still feel/hear the delay, but if you mix a little dry into the mix it's fine to play with.

You need a program that is a host for the plug-in. For instance, Cool Edit and Sound Forge are both good for using your DX plug-ins.

Reason 2.0 and rewire

after installing reason 2.0, i click on the icon to open it, and a message appears saying it cant open reason because it might not have the right rewire version...whatsup with that, i installed all three cds over 4 times and it still happens...

i have Cubase vst 5.0 if it makes a difference

Do a clean install.... ie clear out all traces of previous Reason versions. On a Mac this means removing the app, extensions and prefs before installing.

Downloading mini disc recordings onto a cd.

I'm recording with a Sharp Mt877 mini disc recorder, and would like to transfer the recordings onto CD. We have a CD burner. How do we get the info from the mini disc to the computer?

You can either link the minidisc player through the headphone socket to the line in on your soundcard, or (if the minidisc and sound card have them) you could use an optical/digital link. Then all you need is a piece of software to do the recording.

Hi Lister,
Thanks for responding, and so quickly. We've been on a journey with this. Yes, we plugged in to the soundcard and the sound is coming out the speakers, but can't seem to get the software (Cakewalk Home Studio 2002) to recognize it to copy onto CD. We've been in the Control Panel of the Windows 2000, and into the "Sound and Multimedia" section. Everything seems to be on, but no activity on the screen when in the software program. A friend tried to help us through this, but her setup is all different (Windows 98 and a different software program), and we reached a dead end.

Just wanted to say thanks for your help. It seems like there's some little thing we're missing here. We're totally green on this software program, so it's probably something very simple. Is this something you can help us with? If you don't want to delve any deeper into this with us, I totally understand.

Melody Assistant is a grate program to construct TAB for almost any instrument. Also look in the tutor section on this site.

You acess it from the browser on the left hand side, its in the blue writing where it says "speech". There is already a selection of ready made vocals in there select any and retype what u want, further modify the sound through the options.

I cannot open my old MusicTime 2.0 files on my new Titanium Powerbook OS 9.1. (The program seems corrupted or it won't go with the 9.1.system)
Anyone knows where to download old MusicTime or a notation program that will open these files? (I tried with Score Writer 2.0 but it will only read later MT versions)

same problem here, it will not install on anything, Win95, Win2000, win98. We own the original copy but keep getting a screen that says it is an illegal copy. At first I thought it might be W2k non-compliant, so I backed my clock/calender to 1996. No difference.

My cousin is using his friends digital recording studio and he wants to hook it up to his computer and use a program called cakewalk to mix the tracks...instead of the mixer....the tracks are stored on the mixer. but I can't figure out how to send them from the mixer to the computer. I hoked the mixer up with a 25 pin M/M connector. but the computer won't recognize it. I looked for drivers but I couldn't find any for a Korg D8 Digital Recording Studio. If anyone has any tips I would greatly appreciate... please email me at Methius_kahn@spyring.com
