Is there a file conversion program that will convert a .WAV file to a.RNS (Reason sampler file) or is this a proprietary file extension? If you know how to do it please email me. Or how could I record a sound in .RNF format. I really want to make my own samples! Thanx BHedberg

KORG T-1 USERS

Greetings: I'm just getting back into using the T-1
again and seek advice for software and soundcard.
So far Unisyn by MOTU and Sound diver from Emagic have
been recommended for the T-1. I use Windows XP. I also
need recommendations for a download accelerator program, as I have the slowest dial-up connection known to man! Thanks all.

Best Way to record and trigger own sounds .Wav

Hello I have a problem I am wanting to record and play (with a Midi Keyboard), samples that I record in .Wav format. I have Reason but to trigger and play them (ie) change the pitch with a Midi Keyboard they seem to have to be in Reasons proprietary file extention in the form of downloading refills. I don't know a file conversion program to convert from .Wav to the Reason extension. Anyway I basically want to know if there is a better program or tool out there so I can record any sound I hear and then play the sample on a keyboard.
Since I already have Reason that would be the best if there is a work around.

Try Audio Compositor. It will let you put multipule sonds on difernt parts of the key board and pitch them. Look into other "sound font" programs too

Gigasampler LE comes free with some software packages.
You might try looking into that. I forget if it comes with soundcards or CD-R's or both, but i know that it does ship with some things. LE, is the "lite" version.

I would like to get some information about uploading recorded music/text to my PC. I have Sony VAIO with Windows Millenium OS. And I really need to save the lectures I'm recording with MD to the PC. I can not figure out how to do it, and Sony is not of really big help
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi i use a windows XP home edition and i have a song mini disk MZ-R700. I use winamp3 to play my music on my computer but i cant get the minidisk to record music from the computer. Ive sent it in and its all working fine. What program do i have to you to record the music ?

You can only upload (<= MD) to the computer where the
download originated from. The only other option, is;
if the song that you are trying to upload did not
originate on your computer, you might be able to
"re-sample" it back onto your computer through the
headphone jack to an analogue port on your sound card.

The new file would be recorded in WAV format, and, then
could be compressed into MP3 format.

The part is about $5, it's a 3mm phono jack to RCA
component wire.

Have fun. (It's not that hard but there is some
degredation to the sound quality) Only worth while
with LP2 or better sound quality.

TRAKTOR is great. It's a pretty slick MP3 mixer.

Depending how deep into the mix you want to dig, there is always Sonic Foundry's ACID. The best for electronica for sure.

Stay away from the cheap ones. When it comes to software that will remember your mix and be compatible with any other software you have to get one of these top of the line products.

I know 'oo u r! The Aphex Twin twick was pretty cool, I gotta admit. I'm suprised that the likes of NIN or The Prodigy haven't been caught doing the same thing. If I had more spare time I'd probably waste a few hours on it myself. I wonder if this kind of trick has been embedded in films for the hell of it - the hidden film or montage within a soundscape.

I've been sampling some music lately which i like to use in a song, but I like to know how to clear out some sounds so I get the bassline only from that part.

And can anyone tell me which software is best for such actions or can u tell some some good links about making digital music (with sampling)

I would like a recommendation for a very user friendly, no frills software title that would allow a non technical keyboard player (Yamaha S-90) to experiment with arranging.The Yamaha dealer is pushing "Cakewalk" which is excellent, but considering my level of expertise I believe I need to learn the ropes on something more basic. I'd appreciate some candid advice, preferably from a user's perspective- we got plenty of salesmen where I live?

Rebirth vs Cubase SL: Rewire?Where is it?

Hi,

I have Rebirth and Cubase SL.

Apprantly SL should automatically run Rebirth, but is dosen't. It is also meant to utalise the Rewire function of the Devices menu. But there's no Rewire there either.

I've done all the installing as directed by the hardware support lines.

Still no luck.

So please could someone talk me through, step by step?
