Drop a blank CD in the drive. The computer should come up with some Burning software. Select Copy a CD and follow the on screen instructions.
It's really annoying to reply to your email to make it look like a big thread.

Calkwalk Home Studio XL problem (no audio)....

I am running Windows XP on an HP Pavilion PC. I have a sound card installed which seems to run fine (both MIDI and WAV). However, I don't see that driver as the input or output MIDI devices within Calkwalk and therefore I am not getting any sound. The recognized input and output MIDI devices are 'VIA MIDI External Port'. What is wrong????? I cannot seem to get any phone support from Cakewalk (just listening to their endless verbage on hold!!). Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Bit rates of mp3 audio files

I've written a few songs with Fruity Loops and Sonar (software for music and lyric production) and have them copyrighted. I'm trying to upload them onto mp3.com but for some reason they each have a bit rate of 164 kbps and mp3.com requires them to have bit rates of 128 kbps. I have no idea what a bit rate is or how (if possible) to change it. I've tried fiddling around with Windows Media Player as well as putting the songs back into Sonar and rendering them as mp3 files over again, but they still come out with bit rates of 164. Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.

I just take the MP3 file and re-encode it. I use Cool Edit 2000, but there are plenty of MP3 tools that will do the job for you. Don't forget that MP3.com requires 128kbps in stereo. Without going into a really long and boring rant about MP3, the lower the bitrate the lower the audio quality of the file. 128 is acceptable, but a lot of people like 160 or 192. here's an article about MP3: <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/news/9903_105/">http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/news/9903_105/</a> plus there's a cool MP3 software site called <a href="http://www.mp3machine.com">MP3Machine</a>

S.O.S...Matshita CW7585 PROBLEMS...PLEASE HELP!!!

I have a Matshita CW7585 Rewritable CD Burner. It burns CDs just fine but it doesnt read the CD's it burns. It does, however, read Audio and data CD's that were created from a different source. I have tried several different methods to remedy this problem but nothing seems to be working. Can anyone help me??? Thanks...Rush

Try cleaning the head and see what happens. . . there are good dry head cleaners out there. . .

THANK YOU GREG!!

I was getting message 'File System Error 608', after adding to a CD and was unable to explore the CD. The data was important information and I needed it badly.

I downloaded the UDF Reader you suggested and then the CD was then at least recognizable as a CD and I did not get anymore errors.

I was then able to recover/fix data on this CD by using Roxio 5's CD Utilities. I copied all this data on my C: and even fixed my CD !!!

THANKS AGAIN!
