You will have to explain a little more about what it is
you want to pay for and who you want to pay so we can
give you the answers you're looking for.

Membership</a> then I can assure you that not onlin is
the payment process done through a secure server at

Conversion of MDA files.

I have a lot of Yamaha MDA files on 3 1/2 inch discs and would like to convert these into .mp3 files to then burn onto a CD for playing on my PC or CD player. Need some help. Can this be done? If so, is there some shareware help?

Well, that's gotta suck. But a serviceable soundcard for the playback of music is relatively inexpensive. Plus you will get the CD, complete with the drivers and usually some audio software. Just take a look in your local newspapers. Hit the dealers with cash and you can usually get a discount.

Amazon and EBay will be your best bet. If in doubt, hit the filesharing networks and either download or chat to someone with the material you're after. You can probably track down the CDs you're after a lot easier.

i have downloaded recordings from a digital recorder and am trying to mixdown with changes ie; eq, reverb etc., but when a playback is done the changes don't stay. how do you save the changes to burn to cd?

Asio problem with Absynth...

Hi, everybody,
Absynth is really becoming annoying these days, as far as I'm concerned...
I used it with Cubase 5.0 and Win 98SE and it worked fine, except that my cpu was much too weak...
So, I got a new cpu: PIV 2Ghz, Win XP (reason for my problem???...),Sound Blaster Live 5.1, and I installed Cubase 5.1 as well as my Absynth 1.3.4.
But even if Vst such as LM9 work fine, Absynth will tell me it can't select Asio in the set up menu...
It reads: "Audio system error, can't select asio port, error 43288"...What the...?
Why doesn't this very Vst work???Is it because of XP? Norton 2001? drivers? Xp installed automatically SBLive...but it seems it's been well installed...
If anyone can help me, I'd be very thankful...

Yes there is a problem with XP - With a Cubase SX also - I need help too - I ve tried KX driver also - does'nt show or says cant find on boot up. Absynth works fine as standalone!!

So I suppose its time for Natives to come to the rescue.

Pre-amp not boosting

The Audio Buddy I used to boost my recording volume is not doing it. I still need to amplify in Cool Edit. Here is my system /settings:
*Audio Buddy Dual Mic Pre-amp
* Roland UA-100G Audio Canvas
* Rode NT 1 condensor mic
* 48V phantom powers supply

I have the UA-100 set to Windows XP. My recording loudness is not much greater than the loudness without the pre-amp. The 'gain' control does boost loudness at the point of recording. The actual recording is a "shadow" of what I monitor.

You could crank up the gain on the windows mixer.

on q2: if you have a PC with a "game-port" chances are you have a MIDI port built into your machine already. You just need a cable that connects from the game-port (joy-stick) to MIDI. both of them are serial based interfaces running at the same baud rate!

on q1: after the MIDI port is working try recording the midi events from the Roland VS-890 into the computer and change the track effects. If it generates events then you have the commands to do what ever you want, when ever you want with the effects!
