I have a similar problem...

what i know so far:

My JV-1010 is working
I tried to swap the midi in/out cables.
My computer prosesses midi

I am connected to the gaming port on the SBlive value

I do not think that the midi signals are routed to the JV 1010.

Does anyone know how to do this?

I was trying to download the free protools 8 trak to check if it will suite with my needs, but i'm geting a problem in the middle and it is catting off.
How can i get the demo or the free trail program befor I i bay the full set,
by the way I'm using windows XP

Convertion from Tape to CD

Hi. I got music tapes and I would like to transfer to a regular cd. I got also a Pentium 4 with a good sound card. Can you tell me what kind the software can I buy to transfer the music from my old tapes to CDs.

www.download.com has plenty of free good programs you can use to just record a sound, the sound quality don't get better even if you buy a 1000$ program.

ps. even windows has a soundrecording tool.

you need to save your tape recordings in for example .wav files and then just burn to cd.

randomly switch 4 dirrefent kind of hihat in a drum loop?
is there a way to do this, or a drum machine that canb do this?

coz i want the hihat to sound a little bit different every time (switch between 4 dirrefent .wav files).
that cant be too hard, can it?

could anyone tell me what number of kbps are of cd quality. what does vbr stand for and mean? if the number of kbps gets higher, does the quality of the song improve? any more info on kbps in extreme detail would be appreciated. excuse my lack of knowledge on the matter but i never really thought about it until just recently.

Just to add to my comments. I am not claiming that 160kbps as an Mp3 is the same quality as CD. It's not. It's compressed and Mpeg is lossy.

I was told that the stream speed of CD's is around 160kbps. I generally don't encode below 192 although I have become a fan of Mp4 (AAC) these days as you can encode at 128kbps and get a really clean reproduction with a much smaller file size. The industry is very slow to change over to Mp4.. I'm still not sure why..

Looking for a music composing software

I'm looking for a simple music composing sofware so I can record and transcribe sheet music from hooking up a MIDI cable onto my computer, able to type the lyric onto the music sheet. I just purchased Cakewalk Music Creator 2003 but it's too "high tech" for me. Any suggestion?

You need to click on start and go into find files or folders and search for kernel32.dll. When you have located it copy and paste the file into youe system folder. You will find this folder in the windows folder on you c drive hope this helps!

Cubase works on ME........
but WindowsME is very unstable itself.
(I would not recommend installing it)

Windows 98 is far more stable to be honest
I blame your OS not Cubase

Its a catch 22 really.. I had a friend named bob Sagget
You may remember him from such halmark acheivements as

(a few ameature videos we recorded in his basement together too) It seems like you can really desensitize your funnybone to accidentilly hitting yourself in the balzac (On accident!) If the only videos you are sent are of this variety. His broadcasting network finally told him to take a cakewalk out of broadcast recording and he had really really deep mental conflict. He eventually became so confused he went postal with his "internal Mic" it told him to climp atop a brodcasting tower with explosives because it thought it would be really funny if he blew that shit to kingdom come. "No one likes your show bob" "were you ever funny at all?" "were all out to end your show bob" after a brief standoff the s.w.a.t. they finally made bob take a cakewalk off the top and into a correction facility for life. Bob started a revolution without an end........... There is no solution. Abandon hope all ye whom enter here. I dunno maybe the internal mic is'nt really there? Or maybe there all out to get you too.
