Chances are, it's either Windows media player or Real player. Both are available for the Mac.. Download and install both of them if you want compatibility with proprietary formats.

Recording music from Computer to Audio tape

Hi everyone,
I tried to record music from my computer to Tape . I've a Sony tape recorder and one lead to connect the computers audio output (a stereo minijack) to the tape recorder audio input . The problem is ,the sound is not clear when I record this way .Is there any better way ?Any one can advice me on this ..?

You do not state into what INPUT you plug in on
the taperecorder.wile recording you probably only
just turn the record volumeup.If so it sounds
like you are overloading the input on your sony.
best methode is : on computor use the headphone
outlet rather than speakers out.
On your taperecorder: Line In or Aux.In.
Do not use MIC.input on Sony.

Mini-Disc to CD

Hi,

How do I burn my mini-disc recordings onto CD? I presume I have to first download the mini-disc recording onto my hard drive, which I guess means buying a portable MD player?

Hi Pete,

You don't already have a MD recorder/player? If not yes you will need one. Cheapest option is to get one of the lower end models, then connect the headphone jack on the player to your soundcards line in and record it in real time. Problem is that if the current recordings you have are digital you will lose a little quality.

The <a href="http://www.minidisco.com/mdport-io.html">Xitel MD-Port I/O</a> is also another option worth checking out. Connects to your USB port.

Once you have them onto your PC, basically any burning program can do the job.

After wasting a shitload of ram and time downloading software that does'nt do anything close to what it says it does, I am firmly convinced that Trent Reznor,
Moby, or anyone WHO CAN PROFESSIONALLY "UN MIX" A SONG
ALREADY MIXED, FOR THE PURPOSE OF RE MIXING IT PERSONALLY(hint hint?) obviously sold their soul to satan. No software will "Un mix" a damn thing (or is there? challenge a conceited newbies opinion)and with terminology to hard to interpret (I've spent hours trying to export the wave to the kalamazoo, then slice the bab bab biffer slam right next to sepiroth next to the fatty dikanus shmanus) I would really just like to sell my damn soul to make some good music.

Drum tracks from Midi into Fruity Loops

I have created some drum tracks in a program called Guitar Pro, and saved these tracks as MIDI files.
Is there anyway possible I can import this MIDI drum track into Fruity Loops and assign real sounding drum sounds to the respective drum sounds in the midi? (i.e. replace MIDI snare with real snare etc so in the end I have what sounds like a real live drum recording)

O, yes, there is a converter for rmj to mp3. When I saw your answer I was discouraged, but I tried more. Here is the way how to convert it. First, you have to download real one player. In player you have to click on Burn CD. Player will download little plug-in called Easy CD creator basic. Configure plug-in to burn audio to mp3. Then put .rmj files into browser and your CD will be full of converted .mp3. Hope you'll manage it. For any information send me e-mail: zeljko.sostaric@zg.tel.hr

I tried it, but realoneplayer only gives the plugin if you buy realoneplus for 50 €...so no way...does anybody else have an idea how to do it...I think its quite heavy and I tell all my friends to never download realone because it converted all my wma. music in rmj. format and there is no way to convert it back..heavy marketing strategies...

Cubasis Crashes on Macintosh

My cubasis crashes most of the time when I launch the program. I'm using Mac OS 9.2.2. I've gone back to the Mac OS 9.2.2 base extentions and then just added the Cubasis extentions.

I'll get Cubasis running great, and then the next time I start the computer it crashes.

Any ideas?

Sounds like an Extensions conflict. Sometimes extensions clash with others. Cubase is notorious for this. What version is it? Check if there is an update. Sometimes that works..

You can also use a program called Conflict Catcher.

In the future head for OSX and Logic audio, DP4 or Cubase SX if you can...

help with converting Akai sound files

Hi! Im using logic 5.5 and i would like to know how to convert akai midi sound files into akai converter througt EXS24. It said wating for CD. But even when I put the CD in it does'nt work anyway.
So can anyone please help me?? I would be very grateful for that.

As some people said the files may have been planted on there because it only seems to happen to certain songs and not ALL of the files shared, this fact suggests that it is probably not a problem with the file becoming corrup during download, although I could be wrong!
Anyway, all I know is that its winding me up. Someone suggested only having one source for the files may solve the problem, but I have yet to try it. Give it a go and see what happens. If anyone finds any other solutions/sources for files, please share it with us!

There is a lot of spoofing going on on P2P. That is most likely the issue.

I really need some help on how to make my own rap beat. I have a lot of great ideas I just need to know how to make a beat, and how do you sample music and make a beat from that. Also my group is about to make a mixtape rapping off of other instrumentals and I was wondering how to give it that real Exclusivee D.J. Clue type voice over.

We have released Dicer, a PC VSTi beatslicer which can load in samples and then splits it into slices, each slice has it's own audio properties and can be triggered separately. Dicer can do everything from simple tempo alteration to complex phrase synthesis

Features of Dicer

: - loads in 16/24 bit mono & stereo wave and Rex1 format loops, can drag and drop in wave files & has wave preview

: - splits the input wave using up to to 48 slices points, loops can be sliced using automatic beat detection, into equal parts or at 16th beats

i need help with latency in cubase 5. it is difficult to record anything with the echo from what i play. how can i get rid of the latency? or how can I at least stop it coming through on the speaker when recording as cubase records what is played perfectly.
