If your getting a mac, the "Garageband" software in the iLife suite should meet your needs (and I think it comes freeeeeee with a mac).

There is a freeware program called Audacity which you'll find in the Macintosh Multitrack recording section of this site.

I possess four instruments of Firm GEM : 1) PK7.2)WS2 midi work..3)PX7.& 4)Transistor-Organ model.Chall No. .59060. , old but thanks God behind no because I can be please music. I love some Voices from PK7&WS2.Unfortunately PK7.It was produced in Chinas and keyboard was hopeless ,broke keys and rubbers,during fast game number of style changed .I decided to throw myself out keys and working from midi.But after time I get to knew PK7 from utilization.From difficult work to option midi this is horor this more that frequent announcements close put functions.Damage that so many subtle high class technologi were closed in so weak casing .As I spoke I love this voices but casings and keyboards already
earlier no. If someone would be so best and wanted me to help very.Very grateful.Floppy disk to 20 euro I will buy or I will take back cash on delivery . Need command line tool to manipulate .wav files !

Hi ,
For a university project i need a commandline-based prog that will manipulate .wav-files.
Any manipulations are welcome, eg. pitch, volume,timestretch x-fade...envelope...
Any hints are extremely welcome !

Converting/Formatting from XP to my Korg x3

I have over 10,000 midi files on CD, when I format my 3 1/2 inch floppies on XP and copy the midi files to it, my Korg x3 doesn't recognise the disk and says it needs formatting, can anyone help, is there any dedicated software.???

Well for one thing, the X3's floppy drive is a 2dd, not 2hd. Windows XP only recognises the 1.44.

Solution, convert your 2hd disk to low density by covering the tab without the little switch and use the X3 to format the disk. Once formated,it can be used in your pc flawlessly.

My problem is simple.

Aldo's pianito microstudio(TM) is a virtual electric organ whose keyboard you can play trough your computer keyboard. You press a key (in your computer real keyboard) and the sound is reproduced in the virtual organ keyboard. And this way you can compose musics and to save them.

Do you know if there is some virtual drum that does it?????? Playing using the keys (of computer) and to can save the works????

Hi. Bear with me. I'm not a computer wiz.
Here's my problem.
My friend made me a Christmas CD a few years ago. I can't find it, and I asked her to email me a copy. She did. It came in cda files. I'm a MAC OS X user. I burned a copy to a CD and brought it home. I tried to play it on the cd player, but nothing. My son told me to convert it to an MP3 file and then went off to band practice.
Does anyone know how I can fix this so I can hear the Christmas music?
(Don't make fun of me. I'm just a sentimental mom. :)

Try playing the CD using a player like <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/AudionOSX/">Audion X 3.0.2</a>. It plays CDA/MP3 audio.

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond!
I really didn't want to have to go out and purchase a new cd player just to listen to a cd. Maybe I was being silly and naive. The cd only had Christmas songs on it. It was just special to me because my dear friend in CA made it for me several years ago. She made one for me, one for our friend in AZ, and one for herself. It was silly, but special. We'd play it, and a part of us were spending the holidays together. I guess I thought that there was some way I could change the file so I could even listen to it by the iTunes program.
I'm going to show my son this website, so it surely wasn't a wasted search. He's a musician/songwriter. There's allot of info and knowledge here that he'd be interested in.
I'd post his band's website here so that anyone who's interested could listen to their cd, but I have to go read the posting rules to see if that's allowed. Thanks again.

Try playing the CD using a player like <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/AudionOSX/">Audion X 3.0.2</a>. It plays CDA/MP3 audio.

Metronome

I have downloaded the shareware verson of the Metronome software; however, I have not been able to load it onto my system. I have a Windows XP operation systim; my system keeps tilling me that the format is not supported. Can you help?

Hello, I am desperately in need of an answer to this question!! Please help!

I have a copy of Logic education (5.5) and cannot seem to work out how to record my vocals onto the programme as there does not seem to be an option regarding how to connect a microphone! However i know it is possible as have seen it done...

Please help!

Logic is a software program and will not accept any form of hardware connection. The hardware connection will be to your computer or more specifically, an audio card.

What audio card do you have ? Do you have a microphone preamp in it (usually an audio card with a microphone preamp will have an XLR connector).

Logic audio will record from a specific hardware input attached to your computer but Logic OR your computer need to know what that hardware is..

More information on your hardware please...

i don't know where people kept getting Ciara & Lil Jon - Get On The Dance Floor, but it's called "Dirty Dancing" and it's by Oobie feat. Lil Jon. It sounds a bit like Ciara, but it's not.

It's definitely by Ciara atleast I think. Maybe it's a single on a new cd or something. Her first cd has been out for a while. And I find the lyrics for that onli under Ciara and Lil Jon so it must be her. I found out about it by downloadin it too ^.^ . Oh yea and it soundz like her voice too

Working as an audio engineer for various different artists I need software that can play 1 music track and then automatically stop. All of the software that I find consists of play lists which finish one song and then start the next. I am trying to use my pc instead of a tracks machine. Does anyone know if this type of software exists?

Capella 200: Lyrics

Has anyone been able to make Capella 200 enter lyrics? I registered my copy, but when I click on Extras->Lyrics, the options are all grayed-out. The site where I registered (info@capella.com) refused to respond to my e-mails.
If not, does anyone know of a cheap program that does the following: 1) lets one enter notes without enforcing modern conventions of notations (I'm mostly doing transcriptions of Gregorian chant, so I don't want time signatures); 2) enter several lines of lyrics between each stave of music (our congregation is not musically savvy enough to match the notes to the syllables unless they're right in front of them). Thanks.
