Hi everybody, please help me with this trouble. I have a notebook presario 1250 Windows 98, I've downloaded directX, since then appears to me dsound missing file, so I've downloaded it and extracted to Windows\system, now the error message chande to THE DSOUND.DLL FILE CANNOT START. CHECK THE FILE TO DETERMINE PROBLEM. So I am stucked on it... What can I do?

please read....this helped me.
During the installation process I get the error message "Can't find ddraw.dll or dsound.dll."
You will get this error message if you do not have Direct X by Microsoft installed on your computer. To get the latest version of these files, please click here. Once the file has finished downloading, please double-click on the file downloaded. This will install the needed files automatically on your computer.

Thank you for the valuable advise, I dowloaded the direct X directly form Microsoft, so the error message just dissapear, everything is working just fine...

Hello. I also have the same problem when I try and play my TFC \ Half Life game through Steam. I downloaded the dsound.dll file and installed it properly. I also downloaded the upgrade to to direct X. Still same error when I play. PLEASE help me:)
