Part sound

I get part sound on my computer.But not at the sites. Aol suggested 3 differents things.I have windows 98, aol 6.0. Have checked boxes by sounds etc.I hear, you got mail and all the rest, just no sounds on the sites.

Maybe you refer to some sites which play background music? Well it's usually done with a midi file so you need a soundcard which plays midi songs (most if not all do so). Try opening your soundcards option and make sure all faders are set to maximum and none are muted.

Well that program is not sold separately.
May be you can get a "backup" by a friend!
It depends also what kind of CD Writer you are using, that program does not work with all of them.

copy odio song harddisk to cd writer

Dear Sir's

I need some software which can record some selacted
odio songs . But further I know that only the track
file in a song can be copy in the harddisk. So I want
first I copy some selected song in the different Odio
CD's to my harddisk and then I write these song's
in Cd writer with blank CD . And after
recording I will play the CD in normal CD plyer.
So doing this Job means first copy selected song
from different Odio CD to harddisk and harddisk to
CD Writer to write selected song's in a blank CD and
play it in a normal Cd Player to here the song's .
Hope you understand. So what kind of software I need
for doing this Job, please inform me by e-mail .

hello Atiqur

To transfere audio from CD to computer u use a 'CD Ripper' and make the songs .wav files on your hard disk OK? There are many rippers freely available from this sites software section (click 'home' at top of page).

Next you need a 'CD Burner' to transfere .wav file to CDR disc using your CD Writer OK? Also available from this site. If you read the info files which come with the programs you should get on alright.

recording karaoke sessions?

is there a way to record your own singing on your pc, along with an already existing mp3? or using the cd-rom for the background music and have that recorded along with your singing? sounds like it should be something fairly easy to accomplish, but i have yet to read where it's available!

Have any of you been successfull in recording old cassettes or Vynils using RealJukeBox2; I followed all of their instructions regarding connections as well; but when I try to play them, I get so sound at all as if the file format is not compatible. I realy would like to solve this mistery. Have tried all sources of Real assistance but I'm not getting anywhere except in circles....

Starting a Home Studio

Akia MPC2000XL, Yamamha CS2X, CUBASE, MESSA II and an Apple Macintosh desktop G3. Is anyone familiar this combination? Basically I would like to know what is necessary in order to have the above set-up, up and running effeciently with the capability of adding vocals, guitar etc? Is there anyone???

efficient computer recording

Do you mean you have all this gear already? If so Cubase should be used for inputting all your tracks including vocals. You could get a program like fruityloops for drum/base lines too which can be exported from FL as .wav file samples then loaded into Cubase.

If you're only thinking about this setup I'd say forget the Mac and get a PC. Macs are not widely catered for with music software at all. To have good results on any computer you need 64MB RAM BARE minimum and about a 400MHz CPU - go above these guidlines if u want efficient recording.

cd writer problems

When I create cd with songs off the hard drive, it is clear as
anything. When I copy tracks from other cd's to my blank cd
in the writer..some of the tracks are real choppy, and jump alot.
What does this mean???
Can anyone please refer me to a software download that can automatically
convert mp3 files to wav to record onto my cd writer, and also mixes automatically each track
into the next track. Anything would be appreciated. I sort of just have been
trying to do everything myself, but I have not much knowledge. Just trial by error I guess.

The choppy problem may be due to the speed at which you are writing to the CD. Somewhere your copying software will have an option to choose the write speed. (Often this option is hiding under an "advanced" options button. Choose 2X. It will take longer, but it should help.

For example I've got a song in E flat (all the time I see these) and I want to play it C or whatever??? If it can (short version) how you would go about - how much trouble is for the user and lastly approximately how long does it take for the average download take - does someone need to be there during the download once it starts - e.g. questions or prompts to answer? Music Publisher, with MP Scan scanning module can take existing sheet music and transpose. Speed depends on your computer speed and scanner speed, but around 5 minutes per sheet.

Memorex 2216 CDR

HELP! My new (self-built) computer will not recognize this drive as a CDR. I have tried everything! The system board is a Gigabyte GA-5AX (Socket 7) with an AMD K6-2 550 MHZ. I also have a Voodoo 4500 video card. I am using Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4.0. The drive works fine as far a read goes.

I appreciate any help you can give me.

I have QY-70. Its much smaller but generaly it has almost the same capabilties as QY700 (I think).
To optain diferent sounds on seperate tracks via MIDI just send ProgramChange message on selected MIDI chanel.
track 1 -> chanel 1
track 2 -> chanel 2
etc.

corrupted file

`Cos yesterday it costed it me a full hour too download a file.. but I got the file.
And you know what happended..
I COULDED INSTALL THE DAMM FILE BECAUSE IT WAS CORRUPTED.. It was a bad file..

So I might suggested you better check the software
you plug on your site..
`Cos it ain`t that quite good..

So please for your own sake, and for those future users.
Look for any errors in the files
So somebody doesn`t have be put up with dumb shit..
Like that..

Whish you all luck ..and I bett you`ll be a better site
in the Future..

soundcard question

well Joanna, sounds aren't 'put into' a sequencer (such as n-track) but rather the info (instrument, note, duration etc) from the program is sent to your soundcard for conversion from midi data to audio signals. So what you need is a new card with better sounds as they are the only ones you have!

Well there is another option. You can use an 'emulated' card which is a piece of software which creates quality midi voices for you. Yamaha's SY-XG50/100 is an excellent example and Roland do one with slightly different sounds - you might be able to try a demo from their respective sites. Finally if u have a quality card (which I doubt if u are dissatisfied with it) you can load 'Soundfonts' or wav files into the card for the voice sources.
