mp3 players on 486 33MHz

I have an old 486 at 33MHz, is there any mp3 players that
can run on this system?. Or is there any progems that
can convert the mp3 to another format (eg MP2) and then play
that on the 486?

I think you need about 76MHz and windows 95 or higher. I actually manged to install win 95 but on my 486dx but no MP3 was to be heard.

: Try BeOS or Linux, maybe you have to use 22050 Hz playback, a 486 33 is to slow, get a DX 2 66 Mhz or DX 2 80, this should work with 44.1 kHz
: There is also a Player for Win 3.1, but very slow, like everything what runs on Windows.

BeOS requires a Pentium processor to work at all. However, on a low-end Pentium BeOS makes a great mp3 box. Get the free version of BeOS at http://free.be.com. The free version isn't missing anything important...

The best (in my opinion) mp3 player for BeOS is CL-Amp; a free download (search for it on http://www.bebits.com.

Sorry, but I think, you can forget it.
Try Winplay for Win 3.1 and go down with sampling rate.

hey... try soritong... its a korean mp3 player... and works for 486 33MHz...
with only 16 Mb of memory... i haven't try it though... search for that player keyword "soritong" under raging...

cubase ask for the protection hardware key that must be plugged on your LPT1 or COM port, I don't know.

I'd agree. BIAB v.8 is even better and has loads of new (usefull) features - does anyone have any Styles to trade?

CD mastering/ volume levels

I am looking for a software package that will allow me to type in standard music notation and tablature, so that I can, for example, use a music notation staff for the vocal line of a song and put the guitar tablature underneath in a separate tablature staff. A sort of flexible musical equivalent of a wordprocessor. Does such a package exist???

Music Time-16 problems

Hi. I have owned musictime-16 for many years and have run it with no problems. Recently, however, it will not load files or a new score sheet correctly. I get a combination of strange graphics. Notes look like, capital italic Es. New score sheets have graphics that include upside down ys. The treble clef is half the size it should be, and so forth. If anyone has a suggestion as to what has happened, please write. I have tried reloading the program and there are problems there as well. The program refuses to accept the old program serial number, says it is incorrect, and didn't reloadedthe program.. I tried loading the program, it is for Win 3.1 into Windows '95 on my new computer and I get a message that says a Fatal error has happened in the Mac DRV and the program shuts down during Setup. Any ideas about any of this would be appreciated.

Music Time-16 and W2000

I've just installed MusicTime-16 onto a PC with Windows 2000 and it doesn't display notes or bar lines. Do I need an upgrade in software, and if so where can I get it?

I received a new Music Time Deluxe CD ROM and have not been able to get it to SAVE or SAVE AS. this is getting to me. I am reestablishing my music business (30 years)in a new town, and everything is CRITICAL to my success.

Tell me what to do, PLEASE.

I have Windows 98. The program works well. I just can't get it to save.
I have McAfee Virus, etc. the system is up to date. perhaps there are some enabling adjustments that need to be made?
If you need a credibility check on meand my students ..I have a website too.

Please help ASAP.

Where to find VST Engine SDK?

Plextor is very good.
Fast and Digital Audio Extraction is
also very good.
(never heard any clicks or pops)

I have an Adaptec (sometimes marketed as panasonic) that burns 4X.
Works great- it has a problem sometimes with multisession audio cd's but it also has a nifty little CDTrack to .wav file converter that has NEVER caused even one bad beat.

I am trying to record wav files to CDR but would like to insert tracks without interrupting the wave files between the mix. I heard CD_WAVE can do it but I cant seem to find it.
