Cubase - Urgent Help Needed!!

I'm fairly new to Cubase VST. Anyways, I'd really like to know how to make my samples sound more in sync - at the moment, if I've got a drum beat, and a clap loop they don't stay in sync for more than a couple of seconds - if that.

Is there any way of getting round this??

Have you checked the tempo of these samples?
If one sample is recorded with 120bpm and another with 110 bpm, they wont fit. Meaby your samples are 120 bpm but your cubase are running in 100 bpm. These tempo, is just meant as examples.
But that's all I can think of, it could be.

RE-CYCLE and ACID - THE SAME?

Before I get stuck in to learning all about one (or both) of these programs, could someone tell me if they do similar things?

Does Acid do everything Re-cycle does, or does Re-cycle have certain features which Acid doesn't have, and is therefore definitely worth learning about. Or can I ignore Re-cycle??

What exactly does Re-cycle do? Cut up loops?...

I don't own Acid but Ido have Recycle.I know that if your using cubase, recycle exports and imports functions directly into your song.Acid might not be as compatible?? recycle is great if you want not just the sample ,but it also allows you to take the feel from any loop and place it over your sequence or sample by using it as a midi file.Great for dance music and hiphop if your sequence feels a little stiff! Acid is still probably a good stand alone application to check out .

I have used both, and apart from the soundfont and Cubase import, there is nothing Recycle can do that acid cant. Personally, I think Acid is a far more powerful system, allowing you to mix various different tempo loops as well as control levels, pans and DX effects over time.
Recycle did it first, but no way are they the best.

Cooledit Pro est un très bon prog qui convertit à peu près tous les formats!!!
Ce n'est pas très spécifique c'est vrai mais c'est mieux que rien!!!!

Analog Audio to C.D.

I am trying to record vynil albums to CD and cannot get decent quality.
I have a good turntable with good magnetic cartridge,
16 Bit sound card(Creative) and am using Adaptec Spin Doctor Software.
All hardware on system is up to date.
Can anyone help?

alright,
i have an ace program called DART pro (Digitital to Audio Restoration) this is basically designed for what you are doing though i use it to clean up samples. you can buy it or get a demo, sorry i don't know where from but i'm sure yahoo will.

Winamp converts from mp3 to wave and from wave to cda witsh is the
format used on ordinary cd's you just have to burn them with the right program
ex: Easy Cd Creator

when you dump from a cd to a computer you never get the cd format
it will allways be shown as wave :o)

cool edit pro works with up to 64 tracks.
It's a mutlitrack recorder that incorporates
a wave editer like cool edit.

Sound Card Line-in Impedence

Composition software

would be the most useful or closest to this?

Budget is not a problem.

Try Band-in-a-Box 8.0 !
It's THE Midi composition tool.
The result will blow you away.
It's absolutely worth to buy,
even if you want automatic generated
compositions with one mouse-click.
(or type in only the chords C7, D7/9 etc.
and it will compose you the whole
arrangement for a band, orchestra...)

I've tried <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Muse/">Muse</a> and it's very good, although it plays the music back via midi but if you get a <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/win95/Computer_Synths_Sound_Generators/Wavetable/">soft wavetable emulator</a> the midi will play through your sound card.
Total cost should be less than $60 or cheaper if you use <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/MIDInight_Express/">MIDInight Express</a> which is free.

You will find software for learning to read sheet music in the <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/categories/Music_Skills/software.shtml">Music Skills</a> area of this site. I'm not sure if any of them use a keyboard connected to your computer though.

Generator or Retro AS1 are the ones to go for if you
want realtime Midi control from your sequencer.
Both have virtually no latency when using DirectX
(A decent CPU is absolutely required..say PII 300)
AXS is a very nice softsynth but DOS based, so you
can't use that one with a sequencer. Coagula can only
be used to make samples from bitmaps..Get it! it's
free and great fun to play with

Antares Autotune does the job you want.

Technics WSA1r expansion problem

MP3 to CD-R?

you can use any cd-r program that burns down
data to the cdr since mp3 format is just simply
data that only can be read by a computer
A good prg for mac is Adaptecs Toast
but since i'm operating on pc's there might be even
better ones out there :o)
