I'm afraid you have to buy ANOTHER bit of software (typical Steinberg) called REWIRE.

This can be done with ANY MIDI-loopback device,
like Hubi's LoopBack device (available in Win3.1
MIDI/sysx section of this site)
This is freeware and will do the job nicely.
It provides you with up to four virtual MIDI ports
First install the driver and reboot your system.
Enable clock and MIDI start/stop send in Cubase
and select loopback port 1 (LB1) as Midi Out.
In ReBirth select LB1 for Midi In
and you're there dude....:)

THE FILE AS WAVE FILE BUT WHEN I TRY TO BURN
I GET A MESSAGE SAYING THAT I DONT HAVE THE SPACE THAT IS

Need BPM Software for PC (automatic, not tap-tap)

I am searching for PC software that will play a CD
and display the BPMs for the track. There are CD
players, mixers, and add-on DJ equipment that does
this, but I would think someone has had a similar
need and developed a utility.

i am using a graet software for dj's and she can display the bpm , the progrem its for mp3 , and she is the best software i ever used .

Questions about music software

I work for the Office of Intellectual Property Management, University of Houston in Texas. I have recently had a professor disclose that he had created a library of rehearsal tracks stored as midi-files. I am in the process of performing a marketing survey on the music teaching software industry, and I need a little help. I've discovered Coda Music, which has essentially the same thing, "Vivace", however, I haven't located anyone else who is in this field. As I was out on the web, I saw your web page about your music software. Is this an area that you might be able to speak with me about? Or, if not, can you recommend someone with whom to speak?

Voice Data To CD (file size)

I have some massive voice file which I want to cut to CD. Currently they are .WAV or .RA format. Is it possible to reduce the size of the files and still cut them to Audio CD? I am using EASYCD which will deal with .WAVs OK but they are massive and I can only get a couple of files onto 1 disc. Is it impossible to get more than 70mins of 'audio' onto a CD and still be able to play back on a conventional player?

This is really simple so it's the kind of thing 'Helpful' guides overlook. Just put your .mp3 file in the same directory as the page you want to link to it from and then use <a href="myfile.mp3">Click Here</a>

I'm not sure if this will work above - you might have to view the HTML source to see the code.

Midi hookup - need help!!!!

I have old Yamaha DSR-2000 keyboard , Cakewalk Pro Audio 8.1 and E-MU's Audio Production Studio. I cant get the midi to work from my keyboard. Do I need drivers? how would I know, I'm a beginner. Is there a standard hookup or setup with Cakewalk? Very frustrated

Don't have be frustrated.

Do you have any knowledge on MIDI? First of all, you must master the principal of MIDI. It's too important to ignore.

Your frustration occured because you do not understand:

Why 16 channels?
Can I've more channels?
What's the difference between audio signal and MIDI data?
Why sequencer? why MIDI device?

Not to mention many other implementations and creative use of MIDI such as echo loop....

It's as easy as moving your fingers once you understand the fundamentals?

There's no shortcuts. Don't try your luck and hope that it'll work. For all you know, it'll work today but it behaves differently the next day. There's nothing wrong with your equipment most of the time. It's you and your love for MIDI music.

The latest version of Master Trks Pro I have is 5.0 which is not OMS compatible. I can't get it to work with the new PCI Samplecell. Now that Master Tracks or passport is been scooped up by G-vox, it is hard to get a 6.0 OMS compatible version for the Macintosh. I will do almost anything to get a copy.

Problems with mp3-wav-cda

on my actual cd player. I used winamp to change them from
mp3 to wav. However, when I tried to burn them onto cd
I got a message saying invalid file format. Anybody know

Nice try!

Your "actual" CD player don't play any other format other than the industry standard for audio CD which is 16bit...

What I've done before was that I convert it to aiff format than use Toast to burn 'em.

Open the AIF file in SoundForge or any good wave editing program and then save it as a wave file, its that simply!

Try downloading <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/awave_win95/">Awave</a> - it can convert .aif to .wav

Try a program like <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/NoteWorthy_Composer_win95/">NoteWorthy Composer</a> or any of the other sequencers listed at <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/win95/Popular_Formats/MIDI/Sequencer/">http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/win95/Popular_Formats/MIDI/Sequencer/</a>

You connect your keyboard to your computer via MIDI and record what you place in a sequencing program.

The sequencing program should then allow you to print a score - if not save what you've done as a .MID file and open the file in a <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/win95/Miscellaneous/Notation/">Notation</a> program.

Well, if you mean .mus-files created by Coda's Finale, there will be no other possibility than Finale or Allegro, downloadable at www.codamusic.com. Greetings, Harald
