I would like to know if there are any programs (hopefully free) or if there is any way to remove the music from the vocals of a song.
Check out this site...

Re: Remove Music from Vocals
Is there software for this available for macs?
Re: Remove Music from Vocals
AnalogX's great winamp plug-in called Vocal Remover.
www.analogX.com or in the plug-in section of this website (under shareware music machine / software...)
Re: Remove Music from Vocals
:Yes there is a shareware program that will eliminate vocals by eliminating the center frequencies where the vocals usually sit in a mix.
I don't know of any freeware of this type. I do own the BOSS VF-1 that has this effect in the box but have yet to use it..If this is any help to you go on! Shit I can't remember the site!

But the question asked how to remove music from vocals,
not vocals from music!
I guess one way of going
about this would be to take out the vocals using either of
the plugins suggested,
invert it, then add back to the original material.
That way then only the vocals should be left over as the
backing in the version with vocals should be cancelled
out by the inverted backing without vocals... though
if the vocal removal ends up doing things to the
original music like change the phase then the result
might be less than optimal... to put it mildly :-)
Cheers,
Robin.
Re: Remove Music from Vocals
Earlier this year, I ran through the math on the method you suggested (double phase inversion) and it doesn't work.
If the first inversion gives you:
R + Inversion of L(this result has no vocals)
Another inversion gives you
Inversion of (R + Inv. L) = Inv. R + Normal Left (vocals are back again in normal left)
So even if you add this to the original, you won't remove the music.
you will get:
No right + 2x Left
Re: Remove Music from Vocals
Hi folks:
One of my dreams is to remove vocals from any CD
or a music record. I tried and search and unfortunately: no results. There are some software that only enhances the Low Band; Peak SF Studio for Mac and AnalogX for Windows, in those you hear the voice in a low echo but that's not we're looking for.The concept to "erase" vocals from a sound editor in a spectrum mode is far beyond of the actual knowledge of good programmers. A tip; the only one program that allows you to "play"
in a graphic sample of sound is, SoundHandle and the result is only a simple scratch. This is really a challenge for a super programmer.
