edit the loops with clippings,at the end of the loops, fade it out. use sound forge to edit the loops or other editing programs.

I AM LOOKING TO PUT SOME EFFECTS ON THE SONGS THAT I HAVE WRITTEN TO MAKE THEM DIFFERENT AND MORE CATCHY. CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHERE I WOULD FIND MORE EFFECTS(VOICE EFFECTS, GUITAR EFFECTS,WEIRD SOUNDS, ETC) AND HOW I WOULD GO ABOUT RECORDING THEM ON TO A KORG D8 DIGITAL 8 TRACK.

If you have recorded straight onto the Korg D8
then the only way you will be able to use software
effects is to route the signal through your
computer, effect the sound then back into the Korg D8.
You could do this but you will lose sound quality in
the process. Your best bet is to use a hardware effects unit
or do all your recording on your computer with effects then
transfer it to the Korg D8.

MIDI-0 to MIDI-1 conversion

I have a large 1-track MIDI score containing
different pitches. Please explain me how could I
convert it to a score where every pitch is assigned
to a separate track.
I would like also to automatically reassign
note intervals to separate stoves (e.g. Strings C3-C5
to Cello, Strings C5-C7 to Strings-1 etc.)

midisoft desktop sheetmusic

It appears as if midisoft has gone out of business and the upgrade is no longer available online. All my files were written with 2.05 and I cannot access them
with version 2.0. Any help will be appreciated.

I need a way to be able to hear the song in progress that I am working on at the same time I am recording, so that I can hear to add backing vocals, a guitar solo, etc. Anyway I can do this? (Besides prerecording it to a tapedeck and using headphones?)

Hi there,

Yes, you'll need a full duplex soundcard. Most PCs have them and I'm sure you do. You'll need a multi-track recorder to do the job.

I recommend <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/n-Track_studio/">n-Track Studio</a>. But you may find something else in the <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/win95/MULTITRACK_RECORDING/">Multi-track category</a>.

this depends on your set up and we are not psychic!

Do u use a sequencer? If so playback + recording simultaneously is possible here. U need a 'full-duplex' soundcard to play+rec at same time so check this out.

AM to FM frequency conversion

I have found a "silent sound" voice fm electronic circuit in my travels over the net and am wanting to know if the sound conversion can be done with sound software and if so, how and which program should I look at?

The process is as follows:-

This is a device which takes ordinary human speaking
voice and does two things to it:

- converts it from natural AM (amplitude modulation) to FM
(frequency modulation); this garbles the voice
- raises the average frequency from around 1,500 Hertz, which
is normal, to around 15,000 Hertz.

At 15,000 Hertz, young people with good hearing can hear a
slight "ringing in the ears" from this device, while many adults
hear nothing at all.

Instead of having one built I would prefer to do it with my sound card and software but would need instructions on how to achieve this.

and judge for yourself. The songs have completely been made using fruityloops. The TS404 synth is just right for making dreamy trance songs(ie if you are good at it!!)

I've basically been doing the same thing for my bass on a program you can try for free called Note Worthy. The free version pretty much does everything I need it to do.

so as t- have very long playable cd.
so far i have just tried to use the automatic conversion in "nero" , but it uncompresses the file.
I would like to know if any one has found a way to make very long playable cd.

i am using a program called ACID MUSIC to make some songs and i was trying to use some short loops i got off of the internet in them but almost all of the loops can't be used because the program says they are compressed and i can't figure out why it says that because i see no sign of them actually being compressed........please HELP!!!!

The reason why is that the compression setting for Acid is usually 44.1 and the loops that you downloaded probably are not the right compression.

May be its a mono files.if its mono u can stereo it using blue line stereo effect.
Or maybe its Mp3 files and u can convert it to WAVE files using Mp3 blaster 2000.

I'm trying to copy albums to my hard drive and then to dis using adaptec spin doctor...after wiring, I can hear the music thru my computer speakers but when I record ( everything seems to be fine during record process) and try to playback...I get just a buzz. What am I doing wrong. I have a Compaq Presario 5461

the latest version of spin doctor will burn straight to cd check it out. make sure your recording levels are ok find them in properties

Recording Large WAV files

I cannot seem to find any free/shareware program capable of recording large (ie:- 1-2hr) wav files to disk. I intend to record/clean up, my old LP-Singles and transfer them to cd. if anybody has any advice or experience on this then help would be appreciated.

I'm using Spin Doctor to convert my lp's to cd's and I'm really having no success, yet. I believe it must be in my input thru my soudcard. I'm interested in talking to someone that has some success in this conversion as Adaptec hasn't been too much help and I don't know anybody that has tried converting lp's to cd's yet. Thanks....
