Looking for a Wave editor that allows me to readjust the frequency of the file, or an MP3 editor that does the same... I have files that are supposed to run at 37800, but are forced to run at 44100, which noticeably changes the tempo. I hope to change that soon... thanks in advance.

I'm new to digital music and have been DJing for some time.
I am seeking some information if any on how would I go
about burning my music to a CD and and being able to set
the track change. The music would be a mix-cd, continuous
feed no breaks but have a track listing. I have gone to
different websites called many stores and still nothing.
I know there has to be something out there and I know of
CD's being made though I have no idea how. If anyone could
please help with this if possible or at least let me know if
it is not that would be helpful.

Hey have you tried out mixmeister? That is what I got and I love it...I have put and mixed music on it and selected to isolate the tracks by name. then selected record disc at once...these actions have given me the effect I think your looking for.

You can use Cakewalk(or other programs with MIDI record data) and save yours songs.EMI

Several methods........

first method is long-winded but works
Play your CD-track and at the same time use sound recorder (windows) to record...then save the file as a .wav file. Remember every minut of CD audio is about 10Mb size. You need a duplex sound card for this but most are nowadays.

second method.....use a CD-"ripper"
you can get a demo of audiograbber at www.audiograbber.com-us.net. This converts to various formats. .wav and mp3 included.

I have been burning copies of an album our band recorded on my PC. Even though the software says they have been produced without error, some makes of CDR have a lot of noise on them, some makes stop at certain points. Can anyone suggest a CDR that records without errors?
I'm using a Smart and Friendly drive on a Dell XPS450 Dimension PC. Software is XP SoundForge. Files are .wav format.

The only current software they have is Nokia Data Suite 3.00 and it's really bad since it does not convert accurately and has really poor editing features. The problem I am facing is I cannot hear the sound from my Desktop speakers. But the sound of dialling for internet connection is coming.

Please advice me for rectification of the problem.

Hello Fazal,

Make sure there is power to your speakers if they are separate to the monitor. If yes:

Double click on the small speaker icon in your system tray (bottom right of screen).

Volume Control should show atleast one volume slider (which probably is
the main Volume Control). Click on the 'Options' menu in Volume Control and select
'Properties' from the drop-down menu. In Properties, check the 'Playback' radio
button (it may already be selected). In the scrolling box below where it says
"Show the following volume controls:", make sure that 'Volume Control' and 'PC Speakers'
are ticked. Click OK and you will be presented with the volume contols that you chose
to tick in Properties. Play with the sliders till you get sound.

Yes that is good advice. If that not work Fazal and the dial tone etc is coming through the speakers OK then the problem may lie with the program u are trying to play music with. It may have an 'audio options' facility? If so make sure your soundcard is selected as the output.

What should I move onto next?/Need opinions on equipment

A few years ago I played with stuff like FastTracker 2
Recently I have played with Fruity Loops 2 as well as Sonic Foundry Acid
I was wondering what I should move on to next musically. My soundcard is quite bad and I lack hardware. I only have a guitar/play guitar and I was wondering what kind of equipment I should go onto next and whether or not I should mess with MIDI stuff.

It really depends what type of music u do. If it's guitar based then a good sequencer would be Cakewalk pro or Cubasis. I just found a terriffic electronic music program - Orion it's excellent and cheap!

If your card is bad then u won't have much luck with midi! However it can be useful for using VST soft synths. It can be confusing and frustrating though trying to integrate midi with audio! Orion operates much like a VST based softsynth thing but uses just audio. Try the demos and see what u like is probably the best advivce you'll get - if I don't say so myself.

looking for individuals to lend their talents and skills to a project or series of projects. my idea is like a serial novel by different writers.....one person supplies the beat (for example) and posts to a dump site. others can then add their strengths to the projects (bass, guitar, synth, vox, write lyrics, etc) and provide technical suggestions as well. if there is enough interest, one bed track could turn into 7 or 8 different pieces. think of it as going into the studio on your own time, and adding your ideas to the mix. perhaps we could burn cd's of finished material and mail them to each other. in addition to the musical collaboration, we will all learn tech tips and tricks for software we may not all use from each other. e-mail if you are interested...utc@guelphinfinitinissan.com

Go to panels open VST instruments right click no instrument box. There should be a list of your instruments there. The LM9 should be there. Click it. Click the red button to the left it should light up. Then highlight a midi channel. Go to the output box the LM9 should come up as an option here. click it. record some midi notes onto that track and they should play back through theLM9. I hope this helps. have fun

mixing cds

I want to be able to mix my own collection of cds and MP3's onto a disc. The main thing that I cannot figure out or find the right software for is I want to be able to take ten seconds off of one track and mix it into another as a segue. In addition I want to be able to save what segues and mixed tracks I have created to burn them in my Justburn! software. Can anybody give me any tips or explanations as to if this is possible?
