I am an experienced Logic Platinum 6.0 user on MAC G4 with RME Hammerfall ADAT cards & Unitor 8MKIIs MIDI interfaces. I am going to purchase a new G5 dual 2gig machine. Others in the business are telling me that for the new MAC G5 dual 2.0 gig machines, running OSX, they prefer using MOTU DP 4.1, the MOTU 2408 MKIII ADAT interface and the MTC AV Midi Interface the new Logic Professional 6 using the Unitor 8 MKIIs. I have not used the MOTU DP 4.1 before and wouild like to get some feedback from anyone that has used both. Which do you prefer?

if you're a master of logic, there's no point in learning a new platform.. it's not what you have, it's what you do with it. you want to know a little secret?? i noticed that pro tools-produced albums like from NIN, LInkin park, marylin manson, all had this similar tape sound to them. i asked around and finally learned from a long term hip hop producer that it was mainly the fact that they all use SDII files. which logic does offer, there just aren't many known rock albums out there that were recorded with logic. but the same result as the other platforms IS achievable. you just got to do it right;] might i recomend a book that will help anyone,,, "Practical Recording Techniques" the biggest thing to getting the pro sound is having pro ears and using pro tricks. mainly with mics and eq-ing. sorry i'm rambling strangly long here, but my friend, i've been using logic for 5 years, there's no reason to switch unless you get to know dp better and grow to prefer it. your overall product lies solely in what you do with your sound no matter what program it's in.

SC 8820 - HELP ME !!

Excuse, but my English is not very good, even so I have some doubts regarding the use of the module SC-8820 with the keyboard A-37, of Roland. I tried to enter in contact with Roland of Brazil, even so they don't get to answer my question... or they don't want, I think...
Well, my doubt is the following:
1) do I get to modify the emblems for the software of CR-ROM of Roland, even so does it exist positions of memory in the module 8820 where I can store that published sound? Does it exist memoirses or patches of performances?? How do I make that he/she saw software of Roland (SGEditor??)
2) does he/she/it exist, can that position be access with cc00, cc32 and PC??

Without plus, I thank if you can help me, and I am in I await it of its answer.

Hi folks. I'm looking for some help on a purchase. I'm looking at buying an EMU Protesu +Orchestral keyboard from a friend. He purchased this unit new in '91. We are trying to determine a fiar price for the unit and I don't realy know what to compare it too in the current EMU line. Can any one here suggest what might be a fiar price for this keyboard.

I don't believe you can record vocals using FL, although I could well be wrong. Best to ask at the forums on FruityLoops.com.

I am just looking for a software program which will scan music (everything including lyrics, clefs etc)into my iMac Operating System 9.1. Then allow me to edit e.g. transpose keys, change lyrics etc. and print. I am not a musician and don't require all the bells and whistles but the software must do what I want EASILY.

You need software for the burner. <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Nero_win32/">Nero</a> comes with a wizard that makes it really easy to burn CDs. Point and click style.

Tascam us-122 vs SB Audigy platinum

Cannot decide which sound card to get. Many people told me:
- Audigy could be better 24 bit/96 Khz against 48 Khz for us-122 etc...
- USB connection for us-122 could not work always properly,
- us-122 can be used with a note book while Audigy is made only for desktops,
- both cards are packeged with Cubasis and other interesting software and the price is the almost the same.
Is there anybody able to push me into the right direction?

For real quality, avoid SoundBlaster. I've just bought a Tascam US-122, and my first impressions are that it's great!
