cubase vs finale
Posted by locrian on Mon, 03/15/04 - 21:03:31.
Hi,
I have been using Cubase score for a few years and have found that the notation side is fairly limitted.
I am thinking of changing to Finale2004.
I heard that Finale is better at notation than Cubase but isn't as good at sequencing. But I don't know what sequencing is. Could someone please explain this to me?
In practical terms, what are the limitations in using finale over cubase and what are the advantages?
Thanks,
Locrian

Re: cubase vs finale
I don't know Finale at all but I am firmly under the impression that it is a scoring program that utilises midi as it's control medium.
Cubase uses midi extensively but also (in more recent versions from VST onwards) uses audio tracks and audio processes as in effects and synth plugins.
Cubases scoring facilities are likely to be limited compared to Finale.
