mc 303 groovebox
I'm in the market for a groovebox... and have found an offer for a brand new 303 in the box. Any idea what a fair price for this would be?
Also I'm still not sure if this is truly the piece of equip I need. I'm looking to CREATE some tracks... beats and riddims running though my mind. But I'm not sure how the 303 is set up. So far from my reseach, it seems like most of the stuff is pre-programed and can only be edited/modified?

'Line In' level with Soundblaster 16 PCI card -
Hello All -
I recently purchased a 16 PCI sound card and it works fine. I am in the process of copying vinyl albums to CD and the 'Line In' level is very hot. I have adjusted it down to its absolute lowest level (one "notch" above no input signal) and the audio input signal starts at "mid way" up the scale, approaching the 0db mark. In other words, very little "fine control". Has anyone else had this problem or are there any software updates to lower the card Line In sensitivity?
Thanks -
Phil.
Re: 'Line In' level with Soundblaster 16 PCI card -
What sort of turn table do you have? There is about a 10dB difference from commercial audio to pro audio line level.

Nero Software - L&R Balance and distortion problem.
A question or two to those more knowledgeable than I -
I bought a CD burner a while back, and it came packaged with Nero Version 5 software. The software works fine, but as far as I can tell, it has no option for controling left and right balance on a recorded .wav file. Is this available with Nero software? I am using the software to transfer gramaphone recordings (vinyl albums) to CD and it would be very handy to be able to balance the files. Also, I attempted to use the Pop-Hiss filter with the burning software and the higher the percentage of effect, the more it distorted the file. I ended up not using it at all, and simply zooming in on the file to delete a record scratch. Anybody know what's up with that? Please email to bottomnote@aol.com.

help: Accelerated music, sounds too quickly!!!
Hi!
I have a problem: when I play mp3 files (from harddisk or cd) the music sounds too quickly
(I try with Winamp, Sonic and Media Player and all sound the same).
Hope you can help!
Chimpmunks bothering you?
You may find that your audio is recorded at a freq lower than 44.1 khz. It is most likely at 22 khz. When your media player tries to play a 22 khz audio file at 44 khz, you get chimpmunks...
:)
Re: Chimpmunks bothering you?
Mmmhh... No... (but Thanks! :]
All that MP3s sounded well several days ago and sudenly start to play fast (and all that MP3s files sound good on other machine)
(CD audio sounds ok, the problem is only with mp3s)
I suspected a virus or alike, but a search in Internet give me a hint: In that machine Windows 2000 was reinstaled, and it seems that mess up the driver of the Sound Card. I'm going to reinstall the driver and see if it's the problem.
Thanks! :]

CD Printing - UK Only
Want to have your own design printed onto a CD?
I now have the facility to print ANY design onto special CDs using a modern ink-jet system.
Rather than using labels (which can peel off inside equipment, or can affect read speed if not perfectly centred), this method gives the finished prodict the professional look. The printed surface is further protected using a special transparent coating so there's no danger of it being affected by water or fingerprints.
If you're interested, e-mail me at cdps@btinternet.com do discuss your requirements.

Hi That sounds fab. Do you think you could print just these words in PURPLE writing: Laurie Williams

on the cd? How much would it cost? Email me back on lauriewills@msn.com

Sibelius and Roland XV-2020
I can't figure out how to use Roland XV-2020 Sound Module sounds with Sibelius PC except for General Midi. Inputting XV-2020 MSB Bank numbers like 80 or 81 makes no difference and there's nowhere in the flexitime/sounds window to enter LSB numbers. I can get part way to setting and playing the sound for each channel individually from the module but on full score playback the sounds change to seemingly random selections. Anyone help?
Re: Sibelius and Roland XV-2020
I've had pretty mauch the same problem. I can only get good playback by setting them all to the same patch and the same channel. The manual for the Roland says to put it in "Performance mode" to play back different parts at once but it doesn't work; it just plays back whatever patch happens to have an attack point at the moment. What I find irritating is that I can't even find a way to contact an actual person at Roland to ask rather than mulling over their manual which hasn't helped me.
Re: Sibelius and Roland XV-2020
I can't figure out how to use the xv 2020 at all. Either as a GM module with Sibelius, or as a multi timbral sound-module. I have a manual but can make no heads or tails. I also installed the software that came with it, so that I can program it from my computer , but I can't find the software either. I only succeed in listening to the patches one by one ( nice patches !), but for the rest it seems to have a mind of its own. It's a pain in the ass.

Akai ASQ-10 questions
Hi there,
Do you know where I can get some support on my amazing Akai Professional ASQ-10.
I have 3 questions.
1) Can I import the .seq files the ASQ-10 generates into a PC and is there a MIDI conversion program that will let me convert these MIDI .seq's into musical scores - lead sheets.
2) Can I import these .SEQ's into software samplers, fool with them and then re-import these to the ASQ-10 - your sequencer is much better than any software sequencer for live performances.
3) I believe that I have an older software version that does not support all the midi functions listed in the manual, specifically assigning MIDI channels to Outputs. Do you know how I could get the software updates?
This is an unbelievably fantastic sequencer. If you could point me in the right direction on the above, it would help me very much.
Sincerely,
Matthias

MP3U.COM MP3BUNDLE.COM and GITO.COM are SCAMS
everyone beware of mp3u.com, mp3bundle.com and gito.com (credit card) These 2 companies are based in PAKISTAN and resell freeware..they mislead you to think you are getting music off their own server. I ended up getting spam from a bunch of middle eastern spammers right after signing up.
They also have trust-e and zdnet editor choice logos on their website. They belong to neither and have scammed the gifs.
Stay very far away from them!

I got sucked in too. It sounded like a good and viable thing.
BUT I made an even stupider mistake that I hope I can fix with my bank: I got an error mistake when I clicked on submit that I now realize could be part of the hoax. So, what did I do? Tried to submit it again!!! Three times, I think. Now I suspect that it went through every time and I may be finding a triple charge on my card!!!
Just a note to warn others!!!
God, there's one born every minute, right?

I got taken by this company yeterday. (1/3/03) they have a place to contact customer support on their site, so I contacted them asking to be refunded purchase. they actually responded!!!! asking what the problem was and maybe they could help me fix it. I replied this morning stating the problem was misrepresentation and when I pressed send....I went straight to "page has expired" . I then went to the internet and tried to get on mp3bunle.com website and the same message has come up. They are gone. and so is my money. My member number was 60495, so if that indicates the amount of members they got to sign up, they could have made up to 150,000 dollars. Beware...I wasn't and got sucked in.
Re: MP3U.COM MP3BUNDLE.COM and GITO.COM are SCAMS
Just call your credit card company and dispute the transaction. You'll get your money back, no problem.

Re: MP3U.COM MP3BUNDLE.COM and GITO.COM are SCAMS
I just got taken last night. I did receive a response from the webmaster and the links sent me to dead pages. I have since killed the credit card I gave them and I am contesting the charges since I notified the credit card company immediately after. I would like to know if there is anything that can be done to catch these people.

Alright i'll chill out.But i still wanna know from where this guy digged this info that this site is based in pakistan.Common man,u must admit that the guy has not provided any sort of info which could prove that this site really is based in pakistan.
Atleast i researched on this topic and came with some results,And none of them, neither mp3u.com nor mp3bundle.com are in any way showing any traces of reaching pakistan. Now how can u really believe a person who just came here, posted a comment and all of a sudden u guys start believin him,and sayin that he OBVIOUSLY knows better then me????
Common guys get reasonable,Without showing any proof and stating that this thing is really like this,How can anyone believe this guy???If he knows somethin' why doesn't he come up with any sort of result, that will convince anybody that this site really has its roots in pakistan.
The guy may have been right about the location of the domain or maybe he wasn't. But from your reaction, I'm pretty sure he knows more than you, and probably most people do, even if "u" don't believe it.
This really pissed me off dude.:/
Tell me something, are u going to believe this guy also if he said that "pamela anderson has got naturlal boobs"???
Hey common now, obviously he knows better then u and me,right? After all He RESEARCHED for it,and who knows how he researched for it,but he did it.And thus we must believe him, because he researched for it,right?
Now compare this to a person who is a gr8 gr8 fan of pamela anderson, and he comes over here and starts sayin that,No, he is wrong.Look over here i found this info out,go to this page www.abc.com,now are u still gonna believe the guy who said in the first place that pamela has got natural boobs?or are u gonna believe if not completely to a person, who provides atleast a little amount of info stating that this is not like this?

Re: MP3U.COM MP3BUNDLE.COM and GITO.COM are SCAMS
: : : : everyone beware of mp3u.com, mp3bundle.com and gito.com (credit card) These 2 companies are based in PAKISTAN and resell freeware..they mislead you to think you are getting music off their own server. I ended up getting spam from a bunch of middle eastern spammers right after signing up.
: : : : They also have trust-e and zdnet editor choice logos on their website. They belong to neither and have scammed the gifs.
: : : : Stay very far away from them!

Solidsnake, you're a freak! If you haven't realized it doesn't really matter where the site is located. Your country or mine, I don't give a flying phuck if it's located on Mars, it is inevitably a scam. Get down off your high horse third-world country ego and stop criticizing people for their research. It's not like this guy just doesn't like Pakistan and decided to say that that's where the site's origin is. Here's a friendly suggestion: take a deep breath, count backwards from 10 and go milk your camel - and quit with your irratating obscenities.
If you do simple research, Register.com confirms that the domain was registered using a UK address. Please note that THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT THE SITE IS BASED IN THE UK!
Also note that it is a *site* meaning it is not a physical location. It could be hosted from any server in the world, by anyone in the world who is located anywhere in the world.
More than likely, this is not the workings of a single person, and if you want to identify the person(s) in charge of MP3Bundle.com (or any other scam site) you should first determine if the person is using a hosting service or his/her own server.
More than likely, he is using a separate hosting company paid for by a money order, but never underestimate the power of stupidity. If he paid with credit card or check you could possibly have all the information needed to determine his/her identity. Call the appropriate business(es) and gather as much information as possible. Getting an online petition for MP3Bundle.com wouldn't be too hard and could prove quite helpful. Submit your findings to the appropriate authorities and let them do the rest.
On the other hand, if he/she is using his own server he is obviously an idiot. You can have his IP address traced all the way to his house - be it a Castle in England or a sand dune in Pakistan. Now there are methods that this individual could use to further protect his identity and personal information...but you never know until you research.
My suggestion to those scammed by these sites: Call your credit card company and put a stop to these payments ASAP. Contact the BBB and similar organizations to follow-up on claims made against these "companies". Good luck...

INTERESTING......I've been looking for an MP3 download alternative and came across MP3.com. I have not taken any action at this point, hoping to gather some info on the plus / minus of using this service. After reading some of the postings I have a few general questions of my own... Does MP3.com offer the user the ability to download multiple music / video files?
Is the possible scam aspect of the site, that it charges you money for access but then does not live up to its billing?
Is there anything unusual about a site or service being located outside the good ol USA and if there is, what exactly might it be?
I guess I am looking to get comment/ feedback from users who have actually downloaded from MP3.com and the satisfaction, or disatisfaction they might have experienced. Thanks
