how is it done or do you want to do it?

OK I've never used a TEAC burner I build my own systems and so keep as much internal as poss.

You've got to transfer the format of your MP3s to a cd compatible form. thats why you can copy cds no bother. To do this you'll need software which comes in many shapes and forms: Soundforge, syntrillium and even some CDRW come with suitable gear. You have to transfer the files to a .cda format.

Its easy once you've got the right software.

Giving this a little more thought, can't you just transfer the two DAT tracks into Digital Performer, make a second copy of the cardioid, assign those to two channels panned left and right, then take the figure eight recording, make a copy of it and invert one of the copies, assign them to two channels panned left and right, and that is it. Isn't that the decoding process?

You must have the appropriate chord to connect your tape deck/stereo to your computer's sound card (line in). Then check out the audio recording software on this site, something like Total Recorder.

I've got CeQuadrant but I'm not sure about justburn..which release is it?

Anyhows MP3 cannot be burned onto a cd, it can only be used by the software emulator or portable device such as the MP3 Player. Its not in a format your cd player will recognise.

You can put it on a cd as data and use with other pcs that have the MP3 software.

To create a playable CD from MP3 you have to use software such as Syntrilium or Soundforge to convert the data to digital format which can be burned onto the cd as an audio track (.cda)

Maybe Justburn has this facility(?).
