Re: To unprotect an *.wma file
The file is protected because the person who owns or licences the content of the file doesn't want you to copy it. You could be breaking the law by trying to copy it.

To unprotect a wma file
I used this software: Unfuck.exe
I'm not bluffing, that really is the name of
the software. I don't think download.com has it,
try to go to the website following the link.
Then search for "unprotect wma file"... : )

How to REALLY unprotect an *.wma file (DRM v2 only)
C&P from: https://lists.wi2600.org/pipermail/2600/2001-October/008725.html
I cheered when I read about how the .wma file format's so-called "rights
management" aspects were broken, and even more enamored with the fact I
could still get a copy of the software to do it!
A story about the feat is at:
http://www.securityfocus.com/news/269
I mirrored (coppied) the zipfile (with a slightly more descriptive name)
to Mediawhore. You can get your screaming-fast copy of it from:
http://www.wi2600.org/mediawhore/binary/win32/utils/wma-unprotect-657.zip
The origional file was from:

.wma -> mp3 from cd
Maybe you already know the "Music Match" mp3
player software, well, you can use this to copy
the .wma files from the audio cd to an mp3 file(unprotected)...I'm not gonna tell you how to do it coz its very simple.
