Does anyone know of good shareware that will cleanup and set levels in wave files? Remove pops etc...

receiving samples in wavelab
I finally figured out how to send samples in wavelab. but when I try to receive I get the falowing message "midi communication error". I know that my sampler and wavelab are communicating becaus wavelab can tell me information about the samples in my sampler. So what could be causing this error

Won't burn MP3's
I need some help here, for some reason or another, when I go to my Adaptec Easy CD Creator, I go to my folder and it will not recognize any MP3's. All that it recognizes are Wav's, but all of my songs are MP3's. This only recently happened, I just got a Trojan virus off and it messed up alot of drivers, etc., so I think that it may have something to do with that. Someone please help me here, I need to be ablt to burn my music. Thanks alot.

I want to know about converting program.
I used to use an electone to make my own song, and the file format is different between the other song generator, like General MIDI, or XG, which we can see the score from the computer.

Hi I am interested in the same issue, the best I've done so far is in ACID but that's not always suitable so I have loaded the wav file into 'Vienna' and made a soundfont. Tempo shift is easy but I lose volume.

I'm just thinking about hunting down some software for this myself. Haven't had time to look yet but I know Wavelab does it (Wavelab Lite does not have that option). I can't tell you the exact command sequence but if you can get the software it's very easy. I believe they refer to it as "time stretch" You can select all or part of your wave to edit and stretch or compress it by a percentage. I think you can also give it a new total time instead of using the percentage. It's a long time since I used it.

Well, I don't know the best ways, but here
are some of my techniques:
1) shift the pitch up or down for faster or slower.
2) use time compression/expansion commands.
3) cut tiny little snippets out here and there.
4) replicate tiny little segments here and there.
5) use subtle combinations of all of the above.
6) trigger rhythms with a drum machine or sampler
7) always work with a calculator and a stopwatch.

MP3 player for Mac with 68040 processor
Ladies and Gentlemen,
When looking on Google for a MP3 player that fits a Mac (Quadra 950) with 68040 processor, I came across your ad:
"I got a 68040 mac processor and I need to listen MP3 files...."
But when looking at your home page, there is no way to find this thing!!!
Your clarification would be appreciated.

somebody told me that MPLAY68K.HQX
is what you should be looking for.
I used to have a 68K mac or threee. they are
really much more reliable than pc's once you
get the bugs worked out. A lot more secure,
too.
If you browse the web with iCAB, it's unbeatable.

It burned the cd, but my car cd player and stereo won't play it! My mp3s were all converted into wavs. Help!!
IRecording Session 4.0
I can not load Session 4.0 in my upgrade to windows 98. I had this problem when I first got Windows 98 but cownloaded a patch from Midisoft on the net. My problen was solved. Since then my pc crashed and I have not been able to d/l the patch. I reied to contact midisoft by mail but the addresses I used from the net are all outdated, and my mail has been returned. I am sure that the patch must be available at Micisoft, If I get it I will be able to use My session 4.0 againm. Please help. Thank You.

This is taking to long, I'm searching all over the internet to find something, but I don't need demo versions which do not allow me to save or print scores. Can you help me? I would like to give you something in trade. You may have my MIDI collection or some other programs I got.
I don't understand these programs are nowhere to download. It shouldn't be that difficult! Like I have searched for so long, in the mean time, I could have programmed a MIDI editor myself.

Drum Bass and Synth Software
I am trying to learn how to make fairly simple beats for hip hop music. i am desperately trying to find freeware or shareware that will allow me to save. i have voice recording software and mixing software by the ton but i can not get actual beats. does anyone know what i can use to make my loops?

I just noticed that there is a program called
WavTrim which is freeware and works ok.
It's a good combo with WavGlue and AutoTune and
also CDWAVE.

Look for a program called MP3Trim, that should do it.
There's also a program called Audio Companion, which
possibly has similar functions.
CoolEdit Pro (and CoolEdit200) can be run in batch mode.
This means that you can schedule stuff to be done
like a program. There may be a way to make a batch
script to trim your files.
If you know how to use a noise gate, it can
help too for those programs that require setting
a threshold for noise muting under special timing
conditions.

I'm at a loss. I'm not very computer literate but I want a CD burner.. or at least I think that's what it's called. I want to put my MP3 things on CD's that I can play elsewhere. I have no clue how to do that though.. do I have to buy something or download something. Any explanations would be much appreciated.

well, it depends on what u want to do with it, if u just want to burn the MP3´s on a cd-rom u only need a burning software (must be includet by the burner), when u want to play it on CD-player or such thing u have to convert the MP3´s into *.WAV files for that u need a MP3 encoder then u have to burn it onto the CD so u can hear it on CD-Player.

1 - you are not them, so you probably won't ever sound like them
2 - you can sound more like them if you have the same equipment.
if your favorite groups have some really special gizmos they use,
you'll sound more like them if you have those same gizmos, which you
probably can't afford either, unless you're signed by a major label
and paid a big royalty advance.
3 - If you learn the physics of sounds and synthesis, then you can learn to
make sounds like the pro bands without spending tons of money. However, it
will cost you time and dedication instead. But it's not very hard, either,
if you know how to use a library.
4 - Making music can be a lot like programming: if
the bugs and kinks really get to you, you need to do
a bit more planning and research. Maybe this isn't
your thing.
5 - Decide right away if you want to play live, create an album, or just jam.
Knowing this will save you from HELL!
6 - Always keep your instruments clean. If you sing, don't smoke.
If you play keyboard, keep dust (and cigarettes) away from the keys.
Treat any instrument like a baby and it will sound better.
7 - Find out if the bands that you like compose their own music. LOTS OF THEM DONT!!!!!!!!!!
8 - Take 15 minute breaks every 20 minutes or so, to give your ears a break. Otherwise you are
likely to damage your hearing.
9 - Never stand too close to the drummer. Drummers play TOO DAMN LOUD.
They may be the most educated member of the group for a lot of things,
but they are also often partially DEAF!!!!! Don't stand too close to
the snare drums, in particular. Snare drum hits can be as loud as some
kinds of gunshots if you are standing too close. OK, maybe I exaggerate,
but hey... it's your ears you are risking.
10 - If you really want to get laid this weekend, quit
working on music and just hang out with people who have
shorter attention spans than you.

Anyone know how to set-up programs / sound cards / input devices so that the input signal is monitored by the output? In other words, the incoming signal is directly played over the speakers or headphones?
