midisoft desktop sheet music problem

I have midisoft desktop sheet music with upgrade to ver 1.1.01. The inspector window is blank and unusable in windows 98 on several computers. In windows 95 it crashes with a GPF after a while? Any ideas. Perfect concept but a dog with these problems! Midisoft web site has been taken over by comercial site that downloads unwanted videos etc univited - stay right away!

Still the same people, and doing their best to remain hidden! they do mention this problem in their FAQs and I got a successful patch from them for the same problem in Studio 6.
Good luck! Their support aint all that great.

Simply donliad a program caller winzip70 and install it, the files will unzip baysimply cliking on it
A HTML file? you are looking at one.
By cliking at underlined words will take you for a ride, but generaly rememgering what page on it came from.

Just plug a casette player into your computer, start playing and record the tracks as *.wav using MediaPlayer, Winamp or, if you want to work the tracks over to get better results, use Cool Edit or sth. like that. To contvert the result into mp3 use AudioCatalyst (there are free demos available on the net or - better - full versions).

not sure about the triple DAT card as I don't know its make or such, but there is a software utility called MidiYoke which will emulate Midi comms within the OS. Basically if your software has a Midi sync element it can be drive by this utility via your sequencer software.

I am assuming you are on a windows platform- if not then please ignore this whole message.
It is more than likely an attribute of the file, so right-click on the file and select properties. From there uncheck all atrrib flags as displayed and see if it can then be deleted.
If not, check that you dont have a media player or other such program running which contains the file in a playlist- (some of them get a bit funny about removing files they know about).
Other than that, check your HDD doesn't have any bespoke software utilities for disk cleaning/checking/etc that may lock user access.

Comparison of Music Notation Software for Classical/Jazz Vocal A

I am considering Finale 2001 (latest version) music notation software for notation and modification of vocal arrangements. It is MIDI-compatible, and allows you set the voicing of each part (flute, trumpet, bassoon, grand piano, etc.), and to playback your score. You can then modify your arrangement and play it back again to see if you like the sound/chording better.

I am told, however, that Sibelius is a better program, easy to use, and so forth - more expensive, though with educational discounts, not by much. Can anyone tell me how they compare, particularly as far as the features mentioned above are concerned? Any review articles on-line? (include the link in your response, please.)

Copying Audio CD to hard drive

Try using something like audiograbber, it will lift the tracks you want from your CDRom drive onto the HDD in native .wav format without any D/A conversion (where the buzz is probably coming from due to mains or such). You can then listen to them like this or convert them to .mp3 using something like Audioactive Production Studio or the Fraunhofer codecs (this is Vgood but is command line driven so requires some patience!)

Try east cd creator.............................
Wave files sound good but they take up loadsa disk space.
Easy cdc can convert the audio to MP3, which uses less hard drive space compared tp WAV files.........................

For audio try cooledit, steinbergs Wavelab or SoundForge by Sonic Foundry. These are editors for PC which will allow you to record audio via a Soundcard and then chop it up graphically into loops and samples.
Fruity Loops is OK but look at SoundForge Acid <also by Sonic Foundry> it is far more pliable with plugins and is very easy to understand in terms of sequencing samples and such.
If you want to get professional <as you will have to at some point> then Nemesis Gigasampler is a great software sampler that works with native wav <ie you chop them with wavelab or such and then play them back with gigasampler>.
Akai's new HW boxes are also native .wav as there are great graphical editors on PC for that format. You can sequence Gigasampler programs in Cubase <or cakewalk/logicAudio> which will allow you to setup any combination of samples you require.
Some of this stuff is probably available as free demo only, so I apologise if you can't get all of it off the bat <but it is the way to go>.

Now a days Money Talks in the game of music productions. On the other hand most the software that comes out is for House, Trance, Drum&Bass,and other up tempo music. If you have no musical talent like Timbaland or The Neptunes,

"Finale" It's a good software of notation! I believe, the last version is "Finale 2000"
