They are all free... There are some companies around the world that spend their days programming software for people to have for free. No companies charge for software anymore, they just give it away at the local shop. You could also download it for free from... well.... anywhere really. I think they might be making cars for free soon and free food. I am planning on buying a free house next year and it will hopefully come with a free housewife, dog and children. I think i'll also plan a free holiday from work which i am giving up because I and everyone else doesn't need money anymore because everything is soooooo freeee.....

Nice point BUT - all this COULD be possible! Wouldn't it be wonderful is everything WERE free?!! Ahh life would be so happy for everyone - no more bills, no more financial suicides or house reposesions or unpaid medical bills, or malnourished children or hypothermic pensioners! Yes an nice world but while WE need money to eat and stay warm so the evil programmers need to eat too!

Hello World!

I have just jumped in the computer music jungle, I have a problem. I have a creative SB Live value card and sometimes my music turns into big noise when playing, I think it is some type of software problem can anybody help?

What sort of big noise??

Be more specific and it will be easier to work out if anyone can solve the problem. Are you just using midi? does it sound like stuck midi notes...

Diagnosing cause of errors in CDR audio burns

I'd really like some help in diagnosing the cause of errors in CDR audio burns. There must be an extensive FAQ on this somewhere. I always copy to the HD before burning for max speed (no need for CD-ROM hardware audio extraction), but sometimes when burning at 8X or even 4X, I get a "fick- fick - fick" sound on the audio CD, especially on the later tracks, sounding almost like a scratch in a record. Funny thing is, sometimes this happens a little or not at all, and sometimes very bad, using the same CDR media, recording the exact same disc of music from the same place off the HD.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Trying to burn it too fast, (some players quote x8 write but are often not up for it with certain computers). If you want to elimintate this, try burning at x1 if you can, then see if the clicks are still there. Also, check the ripped audio file on your HD is clean before you burn it. If the problem persists then try a different burning package as some are definately better than others. Don't know what else to say...

Cubase VST 5--Saving music files to CD-R

I am using Cubase 5 with MOTU 2408 (a killer combination, BTW) but there is one thing I cannot figure out. How do I save my song to CD-R? I do not mean MIxing the song...but each individual track of audio so I can free up some HD space. Any ideas?

...it's a macintosh, then grab the folder with all the audio files in it (you should have a audio save path setup at when you started making the song) and drag them onto your burning software and hey presto..!
