How to extract accapellas from mp3 files?

Is there any software for accapella extracting from mp3 files?

A info about accapellas and were u can get them!

They isn't currently any software for extracting accapellas from mp3 because you need to make the backround music an high frequancy and because mp3 is compressed this makes it hard to do. My best sugestion is go to your local studio and talk to them about it or just simply go and buy to tune on vynil because most accapellas are on the A side of them. If not you could always try http://www.accapellas.co.uk and search there archive for what your looking for. If your looking for Mc accapellas try http://www.garagemusic.co.uk

Re: A info about accapellas and were u can get them!

try www.x-dance.org

they offer 14 cds with Acapella MP3 for 40 euros + Free shipping worldwide!!

Vocal elimation software

Anyone know of any software that can allow you to remove certain tracks from a mp3 (for example: removing the drum and vocal tracks to make it easier to tab)?

How to Connect Guitar to Sound Card

How do I connect my guitar to my sound card? Do I just need a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter? Is it then possible to then output through my Amp?

Re: How to Connect Guitar to Sound Card

Yes just plug into the mic/line in jack from amp out for best results. Keep the levels well down before switching on to avoid feedback and damage to speakers, soundcard, ears! Best results found by having mic in volume 15% approx I think. I also find that turning the monitor off before recording kills a lot of background hum.

You can also mic up the amp for a more 'live' feel.

music dadabase and programmer that prints

I have nearly 3000 mp3's. I want to 1.)put these songs in many categories using the tag editor and 2.) PRINT these lists. I find many programs that do #1, and a few that do #2.

I'd like a program that does BOTH and is freeware or shareware. Many shareware programs like this are very complex and tough to work with.

Thanks!

A good tool to work whit samples and loops?

Hi, i'm searching for a good app to work whit loops and samples what can you recommend?
Also can anyone tell my a good place to find samples and loops?

Thanks you!

Re: A good tool to work whit samples and loops?

Use Recycle from steinberg and Acid from Sonic Foundry.

For samples and loops go to:
http://www.audiorank.com or yahoo samples and loops web ring.

Cheaper alternatives...

recording

need good recording hardware and something to make beats. Please help

Re: recording

What do you mean by 'hardware'? Keyboard? Multi tracker? effects units? Sampler?

If any or all of these then it's gonna cost you a packet. But you can have ALL of these facilities via software programs which are 10 times cheaper, more flexible and can be of equal quality.

For drums FruityLoops is an excellent tool. For recording Cubase VST 5 is the best audio/midi sequencer but there are many others - have a look round www.sonicspot.com

convert mp3 files to wav

I want to make a cd of my own from the music I have downloaded. How do I start this

Re: convert mp3 files to wav

: I want to make a cd of my own from the music I have downloaded. How do I start this

I use MusicMatch full version (paid 29 bucks for it and well worth the price).

Converting MP3 to WAV and vice versa is easy...a few mouse clicks and its done.

I don't know about any other software, but I'd look for that feature in the full versions. It would be a bonus to have a free or demo version that could do the conversion.

'CDex' is an excellent freeware format converter - www.sonicspot

soundcard advice

Hey y'all,

Anyone have solid advice on what soundcard to go with (Turtle beach, Creative Labs, etc.). I use SF Acid and Orion quite a bit, but find the sound quality I'm getting to be quite "underwhelming" (ESS "Maestro" card... BLECH!).

Any and all suggestions welcome.

Thanks,

NUMLOK

Re: soundcard advice

Creative Labs are highly regarded. If u not needing a quality onboard midi soundset then any modestly expensive card will do the job I believe.
Maybe u could ask SF if they recomend/support any cards? You may find details in literature also.

Cake Walk

Anybody know how to get Calk Walk to play chords?

I can add the chord symbol, but how do you get the damn thing to play?

Re: Cake Walk

You have to write each individual notes on most versions of cakewalk... but on sum u can just plug in ur guitar and play it or the chord symbol will play itself! evidently not on urs tho!

It wont work

I downloaded napster twice and it just won't work. It will not let me register. I am not a computer wiz so I don't know what to do. Where can I register?

re Napster - It HAS worked - for millions! Keep trying and read

: I downloaded napster twice and it just won't work. It will not let me register. I am not a computer wiz so I don't know what to do. Where can I register?

Re: re Napster - difficulties

I have had the same difficulties, but when I tried again on a different machine with a different internet connection, I had no trouble at all connecting. It seems to have something to do with the Network that you are on and Firewalls, etc. My only advice is to try it somewhere else if you have access to more than one internet connection. I could register and get on Napster from work but not from school and both are on different Networks. You might also try a different file sharing utility than Napster, such as Gnutella, etc.

DOES ANYBODY HAS THE D.PERFORMER MANUAL?

trouble recording

does anybody know what recording artist usually start with when making songs. I also wanted to know if anybody knew of a good product that makes beats but not that expensive. I also need a good recorder product. If anybody noes please post it up on these boards. Not software.

No trouble...

That would depend on the artist. If it's the Spice Girls then they would probably sing badly over a completed track. From my point of view, it's usually a click track because neither do I have a large soundproofed studio or can I play ALL types of instruments.I therefore I use the Synth/Sampler to fill those gaps over my acoustic stuff. Starting with a click track or simple drum riff in-time with the sequencer will give you the option to add anything over the first idea. If your a singer then you would want some chords to sing along with. It's all very self explanitary when you get into it and could be done differently artist to artist and musician to musician.

Don't know about beats software, sorry.

Recorders are available for download from this site.

Go take a look..

Steve...

Re: No trouble...

EVERYBODY does it differently! There is no 'formula' for writing songs. People write them in their heads, on piano, on acoustic guitar, on paper, dream them (P Macartney - Yesterday + Barry Manilow too!), some put aside 1/2 hour and make themselves write a song or else, some create a almost complete track before creating melody and lyrics while the great Julian Cope often writes songs while cycling then phones his answer machine from where ever he has got to to sing the song to it before he forgets! So your question is unanswerable! Try different methods and see what happens!

Fruityloops is a truely great program for creating drum patterns (and much more). It comes with all the samples you could need and is a breeze to operate.

vocal extraction or a cappella tracks

When someone makes a remix, is it necessary to obtain a vocal track from the artist, or is it possible to strip out the vocals from an existing song? Is there any place on the web that has a capella versions of popular songs for remixing?

Re: vocal extraction or a cappella tracks

I have had limeted success by using coodeditpro, using the eq set it to a range of 50 or something. Then turn them all down. Just try each one to find the vocals, you may have to use a few. The vocals sound a bit washy but its better than nothing

Hope that helps
