Hi i have just had a cd/dvd/re-writer combi installed,i need to know how to copy cd's from music cd's/ copy data onto cd from my docs etc.

I would also like to know any free music websites i can download and copy on to cd

Also how to do a compilation from several albums

i've just bought a freecom classic cd re-writer, external. Please could someone give me a step by step guide on how to make up mu own cd's.

i have just startd using just burn in my list of songs it goes from a list that says go,then,on the bottom,it has songs that have a red circle,with a white slash,i can,t get these songs to drag down,what did i do wrong?

Compaq has a patch that got Just!burn up and going for me.

: : What i have found out about this program is that it takes up alot of RAM. The solution for that problem which I have foud that works is not to do anything else on the computer while you are burning a CD. Also turn everything else off including you virus scan by pressing contrl+alt+delete, and shutting everything off except systray, explorer, and ceQuadrat or just!burn. I found out the hard way I killed like 20 cd's before i learned how to use the program. The reason why i am here is because i thought there might be drivers that needed to be upgraded or something. My computer is still freezing up but i don't get the "buffer Under run " error anymore.

Believe me when I say I thought this was written by me! Cequadrat is cheese, and that;s an understatement. A friend of mine came by today to check it for me and was also stumped by why cequadrat "can't copy a disc". When I burn data on a disc, when the dear thing does decide to work, it erases everything else! Does anyone know w2here I can get a decent cd burn program? I search the web with no results...this program came installed in my Presario and it is definately going to be UN-installed! Talk about a user UN-friendly program, this is the absolute worst!

I have CeQuadrat just!burn. Like you it hasn't worked. I thought that I was just not savvy enough to use it. I have asked three of my friends that are knowledgeable with computers to help. One of them got it to work one time. The other two said, "get another program", and would not deal with it because they have tried in the past. So we all agree that it isn't a good program. How do we up grade or have they not fixed the problems???

Yours doesn't finalize? Well mine disappeared when I did the quick restore thing, now I can't find out where to get replacement software, I can't find it at the compaq website. What's up with that?

you have to use your quick restore. go to compaq support on the desktop and look for quick restore and then look for just burn software and you are on your way

All the software that came with your computer is on the recovery disks, I found eveything on it, it is all coded with a number but there should be a BOM ( bill of materials ) that has a list of all of your progams and drivers, you just find the number of what your looking for and then go to that zipped file and unzip it into a folder. I had trouble with a couple of them but it ( winzip ) told me to go to actions and hit " check out" and it arranged the file so it worked, I have not had any problems yet, Compaq EZ 2200 Happy New Year!

the problem is you are using CD-RW cd's. you have to use CD-R

I had to pay $39.99 to Tech. Support to help me recover Windows 98 after I attempted to load a different software program to replace Just Burn(Never Burn!). My Presario CD-RW drive worked well once or twice but after that it became CD Burner Hell. I'm ready to give up and replace the hardware and software. Just goes to show that Compaq Computers doesn't care about having repeat customers. If they did, they would provide all of us a true remedy for the inoperable CD-RW Drives that caame with our Presarios.

Tyr using a 650/74 disk instead of the 700/80 disks

We have the same EXACT problem as you do! We get the error #75087203 when trying to finalize a cd. The just!burn reads and write fine but it WONT finalize it. We have only had this PC since 9/29/00 so its still new and since then we have had a new MOTHERBOARD and a brand new CDRW. This is really getting old got any solutions for me. I have had my computer for a little over a year and I can't get it to burn cd's either, I have only 1 cd-rom but when I purchased my computer I was told that I have a burner, I am kind of confused is it possible to have 1 cd-rom and still be able to burn cd's, and how??? Please Help

I am sadly in the same boat. Just!burn worked fine for the last year, then I installed the "Universal Media Player" that came on an over-the-counter music CD. Amazingly, I lost the ability to burn CDs. Additionally, I can not even find the just!burn program on my hard drive. I contacted COMPAQ support, but they are also miffed. I'm not implying Big Brother, but the whole thing seems a little suspicious. I'm now also in the market for a new cd-burning software!

My Pc is about a year old and I am just now trying to burn cd's. I too have followed all the instrutions to a tee without sucess. I keep getting Error (75007203) finalizing disc! Then problem reading block 1. I am wondering if Compaq did not issue out bad software. Too many are having the same promblem. : I am sadly in the same boat. The program is on the Quick Restore disk if you have to open it you must have winzip or similular program to view Look in BOM directory look for your computer model and print out the list for your computer and you should see the software listed ; here you will notice in my example it is
E:\CPQDRV\151580\00D\001\151580.zip then look in appl\burn\justburn\Win32 then pick which language and go to folder and there it is Just!Burn, C#2.59 REV:D

I know that your information is correct, I was able in the past with help from Compaq find the program and execute it. Unfortunately I am unable to locate the file after a QR recently, I am trying to follow your steps but am missing a little more detail. I was able to look in BOM but did not find anything on CeQuadrat so I was unable to get the Soft PAk number, could you describe the steps a little more in detail, more like a step by step, thank you. Compaq is sure no help.

the best thing to do is to lose the proprietary Compaq operating system that came with the computer. Get a true retail OS, and load your own software rather than Compaq installed software.

I, too had that problem so icalled Compaq techincal supposrt, and they said that you need 20 MB of space for the finalization to work, or that error message will come up. So, let me know if this works...
