Hello Mauricio,

It would be better to divide your 47 min (WAV file?) into seperate tracks with an audio editor.
Just split the large file into the size and number of tracks that you would like to
burn. You can then use a CD Burner that supports Disk-At-Once burning to write the tracks to CD
without a silence (pause) between them.

choosing a mixer?

I've been looking at your site for so many days I have no idea how I got there - however the 'stuff' is great! Therein lies the problem - I don't know the best download to record MP3 files and MIX them onto CD with a major proviso - THAT THE UNIT HAS THE ABILITY TO AUTO LEVEL THE OUTPUT VOLUME. I definately need this facility as for some reason some of the files are softer than others and I would love to set up a mix and let it go on auto if possible.

What would you reccomend?

audio "glitches" on downloaded MP3's

My car stereo does not play MP3 songs, and I just got a new computer so I started to download songs without knowing that my stereo doesn't read MP3's. And I am trying to find a way to take the MP3 songs that I downloaded and change them to something that will play in my car cd player.

u download exactly what is 'there' so no quality loss in this type of file transfere. If songs encoded with low bit rate then less info stored and less quality too!

The dilly on Mpeg-3 "mp3"

Mpeg-3 file quality is dependant on the bitrate.

128kbit is ok on crappy speakers, but if you have a good ear and/or good audio system, then the lowest bitrate you should download is 192kbit.

if you can get the full 320kbit versions, then do so. 320kbit is VERY close to cd quality.

192kbit can usually do justice for most songs.

Some songs that involve intense use of treble, such as songs wich synthesizers or cymbols, or female voice can sometimes break down on lower bitrates.

The bass does not usually change, but since treble runs at faster wavelenghts, it requires more bitrate.

a low BASS blow at 22hertz requires little information because you only have 22 wavelengths per second.

treble cymbols (percusion) might run at 11,000hz.

There is ONE oddity in the Mp3 world.

VBR- variable bitrate.
This means that the encoder actually changes the bitrate on the fly depending if the audio clip requires more clarity.

So if you are downloading a file in kazaa and a bitrate says "67", this is a good sign that it is variable.

67kbit is not a Standard rate.

67 was probably the initial bitrate at the beginning of the song. The song could easily jump to 192 or 224 in the next second.

File size usually shows the overall quality in that case.

USING EASY CD CREATOR THERE IS AN OPTION JUST FOR VCD. I KNOW ITS ON VERSION 4.02 DELUXE BUT I HAVE 4.3 AND IT DOES NOT HAVE IT. ANOTHER GOOD PROGRAM IS NERO BURNING ROM.

I had the same problem. I think if you look at your VCD file structure under Windows Explorer, you will find the original has .dat files in the MPEGAV directory, but the copy has renamed .dat files in the SEGMENT directory. THe only solution I have found is to copy the the VCD to the hard drive. Individually convert the .dat files to .mpg then use Video CD Creator to burn a new VCD. You need to use a special program to convert .dat to .mpg

Sorry I'm afraid you can't do that. The Wav file is a raw sound file while the RBS file is a structured data sound file.
No compatibility there at all.

Input mixer

I am a dj and want to record my live sets. I use spin doctor to record the live sound coming from the mixer. However there is no way to control the eq of the input signal so the bass tends to be way too loud and distorts the recording. I can't turn down the bass on the mixer since it's a live performance and would affect the live sound. Is there any program that will allow me to adjust the eq on the input signal so I won't have to turn the bass down on the mixer? please email me as i don't check this board often. Thanks

If you already have a CD Writer installed; try our <a href="/smm/cat/CD_BURNERS/">CD BURNERS</a> software category.

If you already do not have a CD Writer installed;

You will require both hardware and software to burn CDs (audio or data). The hardware
is called a CD Writer and is similar to a CD Rom drive only that is has the ability to
write to CD rather than only be able to read from the CD.

When you purchase a CD Writer it will probably come with some burning software, but the
software supplied is not always what you need. We have a <a href="/smm/cat/CD_BURNERS/">CD BURNERS</a> category with
software downloads of useful burning software.

You could probably purchase a CD Writer from your local computer store.

Moving RealJuke Box files to Slave Disk

Three days ago I had a 30 gig slave drive installed .... slave to my 4 gig master.

Reaon for the new hard drive was for music storage, retrieval, etc. thinking I could use the RealJuke Box program on the master keep files on the slave drive.

I've have tried to follow the steps in the HELP program, but the music still goes to the master drive.

In recording from a CD I get messsage "No componets are available to play the following track: D:\My Music\Joe etc.

Help please.

Hi can anybody help....
Akai CD3000XL connected to PC via SCSI using wavelab 3
Can send WAV's from PC to sampler in wavelab and retrieve them OK..
But if I sample something on the Akai the sample shows up in wavelab but if i click recieve it says "unknown error in sampler interface" even though it can recieve any other samples are loaded into the akais memory.
If I then load up MESA (which is crap) It can tranfer the sample OK and save it as a wav (which I can then export into wavelab).
Im stumped have tried different scsi drivers etc
At the end of my tether...

Anybody got any ideas or know if this is a common problem??

I have annoying problems with Duron on 800 PC and
WaveLab - I can`t record anything using "what I hear" on SBLive1024 :(( because sound is interrupting (like I listen old record).

Recording 'Drum Machine' with Cakewalk 5

Hi Guys,

Help! Here's my problem. I am trying to record the RA800 with Cakewalk
5 or 8. I have hooked my MIDI card up correctly (verified by Turtle Bay
Tech) and I have my RA800 going through the Studiomaster MA36, so I know
it is transmitting.

I set Cakewalk for MIDI Sync (external clock), set the channels to
receive, and select record. At the bottom of the screen a msg appears,
'Waiting for MIDI Sync' or something to that effect. I press start on
the RA800, and voila! NOTHING! The RA800 is transmitting; the
Studiomaster indicates the 'start', the channel(10) blinks (and one
solitary blink for channel 2), note on & off, the timing clock is lite .
. .

I called Turtle Bay and they said that my board was set up correctly, so
. . . it must be Cakewalk or the RA800.

Help!!!

on my pc. Its not working coz of an error with the
vstdll.dll .does anybody have an older version of the
vstdll.dll??? Do you know a different solution to the
