You have to use a CD-R disc NOT a cdrw.....the cdrw are for your computer only and more for text files and such....CDR 's are cheaper and many are made just for music (quality). You can order them right online at staples.com or officemax.com etc etc..... about 50 cents each. good luck

home stereos and portable players do not usually read CDRW format, only CDR if they specifically indicate it. brands that do are sony, philips and aiwa, but they have to be relatively new products, like in the last 2 years

Hello,

Thank you for the reply. I am using Easy CD Creator and tried again last night. I thought I may have not closed the session and did so this time, however, it still did not work.
Easy CD creator suggested I use a CD write disc instead of a RW-CD disc on the wizard. I will try their support page, then purchase a write CD.

choosing an editing program?

I need a program for editing sound. I need to be able to overlap tracks, change the beats per minute, and select only portions of a track. I'm getting into video editing so if anyone knows of a video editing program that offers these sound options that would be fine too. I have MGI videowave III but it is too limited.

Cooledit Pro is a standard and will do everything except change bpm - this will alter key of a song and thus make it sound out of tune! These will allow audio/video editing - WaveLab,Soundforge and there is Stienberg's Nuendo too I think.

if you need a good GUITAR real-time effect
and have a SB16 or SB32/AWE32/AWE64
then search fxproc.zip or fxproc.exe
this is a little pollish
software (17K) and very good !

As guitar player, I am looking for a multitracker s/w with functionality in real time of slowing down a section of audio without changing pitch. Stand alone like slowgold are OK but they are stand alone.

I run Cakewalk Pro Audio 9. This does the trick very well. All you have to do is change the tempo!

I have the software too, but installled at my 80286 AT machine. I think that's too hard to restart this computer. But you can check this site http://www.rolandus.com/SUPPORT/SOFTWARE/UPDATES.HTM
for download the converter from .BAL to MID.

Hi Keith
The best I've found is CDex 1.3 beta 8 found on this Home page under CD rippers cover s all CD to wav or MP3, and wav to mp3. Brilliant, all CD tracks can be accessed (or any 2, 3, etc.) Sound cut-off is at ca. 15-16kHz, and speed not too bad.

yes Music match it let's you convert mp3 to wav and wav to mp3, also rips a song from a cd and lets you put it on the internet, this is a great program, and you can do more than 1 file at a time unlike winamp

Hello Alan,

I would suggest using a MP3 decoder such as <a href="/smm/programs/SoundApp/">SoundApp</a> or <a href="/smm/programs/MP3-to-AIFF/">MP3-to-AIFF DropConverter</a> (both Freeware)
to convert your MP3 files to AIFF format. Incidently, the new version of Toast 4.0 Deluxe supports direct MP3 to Audio CD conversions (plus heaps of other great new features).
