I recently supplied some tracks in wav file format(on data cd - not an audio cd) to a friend who is using a Roland VS1680, only to find that he can't load them. There seems to be plenty of possibility to convert Roland's format to wav but we need to go the other way around. Anyone know of anything that will convert .wav files to a format that the VS1680 will recognize?
(It will be a syncing nightmare if we have to "play" these tracks into the machine as audio inputs and thus loose all the start points)

I THOUGHT YOU COULD DO IT WITH SOUND FORGE 7.0 BUT ITRIED IT AND WHEN I BROUGHT THE FILES INTO ACID WHEN I CHANGED THE PROJECT TEMPO THE FILES DIDNT STAY THE SAME PITCH SO LET ME KNOW IF YOU FIGURE THIS OUT

thanks a lot see my problem is i can record about 17 mp3s to a CD-R but is there any way that i can increase the amount of songs i record to one CD,i've seen ads like record 100+ songs to just one CD-R so how do i do that?Is there a way that i could compress audio files to make them take smaller space on a CD-R?and how can I tell the audio format of my files on my computer like songs that i downloaded? Thanks a lot for your first reply,I'll be glad if i could get help:)

Just re-encode the MP3s at 128 Kbps. You should be able to get well over 100 4 minute MP3s on a 700 MB CD-R without a hassle.

cubasis vst error

When I have more than one track recorded with cubasis vst and try to delete a part, I get an error message telling me to save the song under a different name, which is weird because I'm not closing the song, just deleting a part. I haven't given it a name yet. Then, a smaller error window appears that says "save context stack overflow." When these error messages appear on the screen they multiply themselves over and over a zillion times, making a horrible sound and causing the need to reboot the computer, thus losing all recorded tracks. Can anybody help?

help with creating a song in Cake Walk Home Studio 2004

Help!!! I've been trying for days to create a verse, chorus, and bridge to a song using my Yamaha S30 synthesizer, Cakewalk Home Studio 2004, and my computer, and haven't been able to figure out how to do this. Is there an easy way to create songs quickly? I'm looking to record a piano track, bass track, and drum set track, and organize them into the verse, chorus, and bridge. How the heck do I do that?

A question on recording in cooledit pro 2.0:
-ok, I have hooked up my microphone to the soundcard input and have recorded in a guitar track.
-now I want to record in a vocal track...

When I try to record the vocals to another track on the multitrack editor, the guitar track is also re-recorded at the same time (and yes my speakers are off and I am listening to the guitar track in my headphones while I sing). Can cooledit do what I want? Should I be using different software?

i was actually lookin around for help on the same topic and came accross this.

the reason this is happening i think, is because you have one soundcard doing the input and output so when you record a separate track and still want to play the track you just recorded, its picking up and playing it out of the same soundcard and recording it onto the new track as well.

this was not a problem for me before, because i had 2 soundcards and had the soundblaster one as the output, and the echo darla as the input.

that is the only way i found to do multi track recording and not run into this problem...but to me, that is super dumb and there has to be a way. i dont think it is mandatory for you to have 2 soundcards to do multitrack recording and not run into this problem. i bought the newest soundblaster audigy 2 card and it has an ice 1/4" input on the front of it..plugged my guitar in, recorded, crossed my fingers and went to do a second track and its picking up the first track.

its making me crazy, and i just sold my echo card on ebay thinking it would be of no use to me.

someone please help us out! there has to be a solution.

I recently had a problem with my drive running out of space while recording.
I upgraded to a MUCH larger drive 120GB still using a FAT table, and now the audio when recording stalls at the begining of the recording. The orginal drive was mirrored over to the new drive. Does anyone know what might have caused the audio to stall like this? Could it have anything to do with the fact that I am still using a FAT table (32) with a drive so big?

OKAY, there is a red button (labeled R) to the right of every track in multi track view.(along with a yellow button,labeled S and a green one labeled M) This little red button(again, labeled R) enables you to record onto that track. When you've finshed your guitar track you need to disable that button by clicking on it. To record your vocals, click on the record button on track 2( this will enable you to record onto that track, you will still be able to hear track 1) Then click on the record button at the bottom left of the screen (above the level bar). Hope this was helpful.

I just got cool edit pro. I have a mic plugged into the mic jack & my headphones in the speaker jack and nothing is recording. i cant figure out what im doing wrong. can someone please walk me through this???

To change how your computer handles multimedia content
1-Open My Computer.
2-Under Devices with Removable Storage, right-click the device you want, such as a digital camera or CD-ROM drive, and then click Properties.
3-On the AutoPlay tab, click the multimedia content type you want to change.
4-Under Actions, click the action you want Windows to perform when it detects the media type you selected.

I use Subase SX on a fast computer (P4, 2 GHZ. , 512 MB.)
When I load 3 instances of for example Native Instruments Kompakt, the processor is 40% loaded which should be okay (I thought) , but the sound is very bad: cracks and cracks, all the time.

Is this normal ? How can I improve this ??

hello I am trying to use the steinberg voice generator processer to create hormonies in logic audio but there seems to be a problem to use audio and midi in the same track i want to be able to use a midi track to trigger note along with audio and the track

I had the same problem, I got a new computer and put my OLD hard drive in the system and the Music was off an ovtave or so.
My problem was solved by updating the AUDIO DRIVER. there are 2 ways of doing that
1: go to Microsoft webiste and update all your drivers (this did not help me)
2: go to the website of your AUDIO CARD MANUFACTURER and update your drivers.

CD audio is sampled at a rate of 44.1 KHZ. The sound file you are listening to is most likely recorded at a rate less than that. When you play the a 22 khz file at 44 khz, you get the audio playing back faster than it was produced. It would be something like listening to an LP at 45 RPM.

You will have to convert your file to 44.1 khz.

A RAM file is simply a text file pointing to the location of a Real Media file. You can't convert Real Media files to Windows Media. No software exists.

go to Kazza and with teh nameof the song type insturmental and if they have it available it will pop up =)
