Any Windows compatible sound card will work with cool edit. As you probably know software has no effect on the record quality of the sound, so I am confused as to why you mention it.
(unless the software is very poorly written and allow jitter errors when recording)

The Mic in on most computers is a mono input. either the tip or ring is used for a low voltage phantom power, not an extra channel. If you want to record two tracks at once you will need to use a pre amp and the line in with a "two Mono socket to Stereo plug/jack" adapter.

Hi Chris,

Have a look in the Options menu:Metronome. You may find that you have 'Midi Click' selected and it's talking to your midi drum track. You can deselect this and just opt to have 'audio click' running if you like. Alternatively, play with the other settings on this particular dialogue box as they may solve the problem, such as only having the metronome running on the pre-roll, for example.

I'm using an earlier version of reason but the answer should be the same........

Firstly Reason is not really suited to large audio files. You have to remember that REX files are sliced and are thus automatically stretched/pitched to fit the current tempo.....

loading a large wave file would not ....
so the timing could be all over the place....
You could slice up the WAV file with recycle and creat a few REX loops which should fit nicely in the tune

BTW, you should get Cubase as it can be linked to Reason via REWIRE.

can you hear a imported .wav file in cubase? Try going to "options"/"audio"/"system". check the upper right hand corner and see if your sound card is listed.uh, what kind of soundcard are you using? let me know and we'll see if we can get it working.

I'm wondering the same thing. Also, I have Windows XP. It looks like the Wav conversion software they have doesn't work with XP. Can you just have stereo outs going into the PC line-in and use the PC's recording capability? Will that maintain the digital quality?: i have a br-8 and a computer with a burn drive. what software do need to burn cd's. is there any way that i can durn a cd without haveing a zip drive on the pc. is there anyway i can interface the br-8 directly with the computer if so what software is needed for the computer recognise the br-8.

WRITE AND BURN KARAOKE SONGS CD+G

Use power karaoke to convert mp3 and lyrics into cdg file. (or download some finished files).

Convert mp3/wav +cdg into bin file with power karaoke.

Use cdrwin to create cue file.

Use daemon tools to mound virtual drive CD.

Use clone CD to turn virtual CD into real CD.

This CD will work on any stand alone CD+G player i.e goodmans , the singing machine etc,but as yet I have not found a PC based player that will play these burnt disks.

Microstudio is a great program for customising your songs onto a single disk but will not play the clone burnt disks correctly.

www.karaokeplayground.co.uk is a great help and can tell you how a non (CD+G) compatible burner can still burn karaoke disks that will play. This will tell you how to set up clone to recognise cdg tracks.

I have tried to burn with cdrwin, nero and a few others but my bin files don’t work on a stand alone CD+G player. Howerver, they do play on a PC version. Strange??
