i think i have downloaded the patch for doing the above, but, what is the next process??? ie do i go to some sound program, and tell it the files i want are on the zip, or do i somehow transfer from the files to the pc somewhere (most likely) then massage the files.

is there a instruction sheet on this anywhere? i am not computer challenged, but i am no expert either.

my friend recently deleted mcaffee virus scanner and she told me that this might of been caused because of this but I need some input on how to fix this and what may be the cause and how to make this error go away and things to work again that may require it?

Did you just uninstall the program useing windows installer, or delete the directory manualy?

any way, you should always just use windows uninstaller, and never delet manualy. Search all the computers you can for the missing DLL until you find it. Then put in on some form of media, and copy it onto the computer with the problem in the C:\windows\system32 directory.

I have the same problem after using a program
that reconfigured my old computer so that I
could transfer data to my new windows XP computer.
I cannot turn my old computer back to normal
afterwards.
I now have to close windows telling me the
W32SKRNL.DLL file is missing or that
I need another version of it(which I can't find),
every time I turn the thing on.

i ordered mixman studio x pro and the credit card was declined. however i was charged on the card the full price of the item. i did not receive the mixman program either. fix this please

Ditto here, I'm having ALL KINDS of issues. *sigh* And I thought that this was gunna be something cool. I can't get X-Pro to work, soundcard won't initialize, I can't use wavs in the normal version of Mix Man because they have lag and silence (gee, they played flawlessly in Cool Edit) and I can't convert to TRK because Zero-X Beat Creator says "mixman midi error, cannot convert to TRK" and even if I could it only accepts mono wavs.

This is a really good discussion board for DM2/Mixman. I think we should all migrate there. Lots more people on that board talking.

OMG I share your pain! This is completely insane! We all waste our money on this product only to have it not work properly. I've searched the internet for some solution and this is just about the ONLY webpage that even mentions this error. I hunted on Mixman's FAQ website and still nothing found. I think they're aware of this error 421 shit, and they're also aware that when people try to pay via credit card online to purchase products that it won't work half the time. This is completely absurd and totally unacceptable. I used to be a big fan of Mixman Studio Pro, but the version I bought years ago only works with Win98. UGH if anyone comes up with any solutions or hears back from Mixman, PLEASE email me. Missa909@hotmail.com Thanks so much!

tell them that the recorder does work, it record and plays sounds, but the mixman console doesnt play tracks

I have found a solution to the STUDIO.VXD error. You have to get the complete updates 1.1 & 1.2 for mixman.You then have to replace the REMIXER.EXE, using the REMIXER_OLD.EXE instead. The REMIXER.EXE file is located inside the DM2 folder.

I tried this and it didn't work for me. I'm running XP and have tried everything....no luck! I hate to sell it but looks like it's Ebay bound.

Anyone have other solutions or ideas?

same problem error 421.
maybe that need the mixman pad hardware......???????

Your mixman version is an old version, and only work in win98 and 95.

The same damn error

I get a "Trouble Initializing Soundcard - 421 error" I have a CMI 8738 sound card onboard and directx 9.0 loaded onto the system. I was going through the net and found out that a lot of other people with many other better sound cards are also facing the problem. I in fact was planning to change my sound card before that.

Can anyone help me out. Coz i spent a lifes saving on buying this damn software which in turn is not working.

I'm having the same problems as well. I am running a Yamaha DS-XG. I have a DM2 that I use and it works with original software, but not StudioXPro. "Sound card error". Maybe it's just Yamaha.

I am big fan of mixman produkts and I belive that it is very poverful,when my friend posted my XPro I go crazy.B U T,explode trk is the onli function that work.Loading and all other stuf dont work-trabl inicijaliz sound card-error421!!!!So I go more crazy,Mixman basterd's don't answer...Is there any solution in this world?

No, I thing that is not only for Yamaha... I have ViaAudio.. and other 2 sound cards, the problem is the same : error 421 :((

I bought a dm2 and have since bought dj megamix and studioxpro.

as you all mention, the original software it came with, which I had to reinstall after StudioXPro installed over it, works fine.

StudioXPro loads and the modules work, I can use TRK Creator, but the mixing station gives me the 'cannot initialize soundcard' error. Have tried reconfig with Multimedia/Sound Properties Ctrl Panel, but nothing works.

WTF??!?!

Reson and Cubase are two very different programs. Cubase is geared toward multitrack recording of midi and audio. Reason works like a very nice sequencer. If you are into hip-hop or techno music reason would be a good inspiration. If you are recording real interments go with Cubase.

Just spent 4 hours editing a video on Sonic. Saved the file. Tried to reopen it with Sonic and now the file extension is SES. What the heck is SES and how can I get my file back.

This will give you a list of all file types and what s/w open's it....

I need help with floppys for ensoniq keyboard

My piano man died and left me his floppies from his ensoniq keyboard. I do not have the keyboard but I would like to listen to the floppies on my computer or transfer them in the recording studio. What program do I need for transfering these floppies to my PC. I use windows XP professional on my computer. Please help!

If the disk fits in your computer (ie not 5 1/4") then I would bet the files are MIDI, or .MID Ensoniq is a PC sound card manufacture primarily, so I bet they don't have a proprietary format. If they are .MID files you can use just about any MIDI sequencer program. Audio Compositor is my fav for making waves out of MIDIs

if it ends in .exe, double click on it.
if it ends in .zip you need winzip

any other, search for it on "www.download.com" they have almost everything you should need
