Hi can anyone please help?
Am trying to get cdg2avi to work on mt xp computer.
Keep getting error message:COMDLG32.OCX MISSING OR FILES CORRUPTED.
i HAVE DOWNLOADED THIS PROG 3 TIMES WIH THE SAME RESULT.Thank you Elliott.

Okay, I have accepted that I can't mix to save my life, and so the best thing would be to leave it to those who have the skills!!!

But I just started an internship with Universal and have been listening to all kinds of music lately. If you're into latin hip hop, some of the tracks from delinquent habits new CD are pretty tight and might be cool to mix. problem with MPU-401

Hello, I have an ess1868 and I have a problem. When it was in a Pentium 133Mhz all was Ok, now it is on a Pentium II 400Mhz and the MPU-401 doesn't appear in the list of midi instrument. I have clicked on new instrument but I don't find it. I have Win98. Can you help me?

Boss BR-8 Digital Recording Studio

I have recently purchased a Boss BR-8 Digital Recording Studio and need to know how I can burn my finished tracks onto cd's. I've seen some other devices with the burners installed inside the unit. Are there stand alone cd burners to hook right to the unit or am I going to have to get software in my computer to do this? It says it has optical digital ouput for connecting to digital devices such as cd burners or personal pc. What is the easiest and most price friendly way to do this. I've been doing study on this but haven't been able to find the right info. I've done some recording analog tape style before but I'm new to the digital scene so any help with this will save me a huge headache!! Please, any info welcome!!! JB

jeremy, as i write, i am burning from the boss br8 to a cd. i bot a tdk cd burner copier (hi fi type from best buy type of store) it has digital input so you can go with a digital optical cable (light goes through it, monster cable 20-40 dollars) then you have to click optical input on the cd recorder unit.then you have to drive the volume using
the br-8 levels cranked to get the vu meter up high enuf on the cd recorder.
anyway, my tdk crapped out one week out of warranty ( 1 year) and i will tell everyone because even tho their support was good, this really sucked and they wouldnt do anything about it.

i have to use my remote to make it record.

the boss is a fine unit and i love using it.
i find it easier to use than trying to record to a pc.

BUT, the best way to burn your cd, i just decided tonight, is to get your disks translated to wav files , put into the pc, and burned from there, after cleaning up with cakewalk or other type programs.

there is also a program called redbook, that will set your levels to standard volume levels so your burned cd will play at the same sound level as your Stones CD.

wont have to get up and adjust your stereo
I am trying to find the patch that<MUST be used to get
your zip disk into the computer (your pc wont recognize the zip from the boss unless you use this conversion file.)

so, figure out how to download this patch, then, how to get from the zip to a wav. file..

it might be real easy, but, as i dont have my zip drivehooked up, i dont know if i am there yet.

I have tried to download the Br-8 Wave Convertor software but everytime I try it says the page cannot be displayed. How can I get this software. Is it anywhere else on the internet.

If the digital output is Sp/Dif optical or digital, you have two choices.

1) Buy a stand alone CDRW, in the form of a hifi CD player. Philips make them among other companies.

The plus points of owning one of these is that audio CD burning is very reliable and they are easy to use.

The minus's. They are expensive compared to a computer CDRW. They usually require that you buy specific Audio CD's with an SCMS code on it (it's essentially code that to you means a copywrite payment included in the price of the CD that you have to make to the music industry on the 'off chance' that you copy a copywrite CD that they own the copywrite on (sheesshh)). Also, they can be slower at copying than a computer based burner.

2) Buy a computer based CDRW and buy an audio/soundcard (you might already have one) with an SP/DIF input.

Plus's. Cheap if you already have the digital input. Expensive as you have to buy two items. Probably cheaper than a stand alone CDRW though.

Minus's. Could be tricky to get running if you get some poor burning software with the CDRW drive. Might be tricky for some people to fit. The audio recording software you will have to use might confuse some people although, if you have worked out how to the the Boss in the first place, then I doubt it will be too much trouble.

My recommendations if you don't have an audio/sound card with a digital in/out are. Half decent CDRW with some decent bundled software. An M-Audio Audiophile 24/96 audio card, providing you have a spare PCI slot.

I would do all of that in Logic Audio although it's more an Audio/Midi sequencer.

You could try something like Live from Ableton.

I do noise and experimental music, and i like playing with more then just the normal music scale and the 8 tone octave, i was wondering if their are any programs that can sequence that have piano rolls like cakewalk but can be tuned and can have the numbe of notes per octave changed.... also in general what are some good programs i have hotline and i'm looking for some names of stuff to search for and download.... like i said both general stuff and stuff with the an eye towards experimention.
