converting real audio files to mp3

I have a mac and i have been struggling with how to do this for awhile, and people I talk to dont seem to know anymore then I do. If some one could help me I would appreciate very much

The higher the bitrate the more clarity you get while recording (clarity also means better equalization, and more space for additional instruments).
Since CDs use 16bit, if you record 32bit samples, and the song is lowered at 16bit you lose most of the clarity, though some say the trace from such recordings is audible (me included)...

To my ear headroom is the most important reason to go for more bits in the recording process. In terms of quality in the final output file the difference between 24 and 32 bits will be much less noticeable than the difference between 16 and 24.

Remember that the quality doubles (OK, that's an oversimplification) every time you add *one* bit. In other words, 17 bits will be twice as clear as 16 bits (in theory, anyway). By the time you get to 24 bits in the audio file the noise floor is below that of most recording and playback equipment. 32 bits doesn't buy much in the final mix. It's mostly useful in the intermediate processing.

My opinion only, of course...

If you mean from audio CDs, see download section about audio editors, cd burners or even mp3 encoders that have the feature called digital audio extraction (DAE)...

Thanks for your help. I have downloaded Musicmatch which does the job. However I am still looking for a programme or method of copying mp3 files from a cd onto my hard drive

what you want, and has an easy to use interface.

A bit more detail would have helped.

Copy them in WAV format (CDex will do that easily enough). Then, if you want to conserve space, convert them to MP3 (CDex will also do that.)

It supports CD-R. It has all the latest drives because it is brand new. Everytime I try to burn a c.d. it stops at 50%. Can anyone please tell me why is it doing this. Thanks

i have a hp 9300i had lots of trouble writing to slow down the write speed and it should work thats what i found out.in my other puter i have a plextor writer i swear by plextor now it never shuts down with its burn proof technology.

and choose your CD-RW to troubleshoot it.

Easy CD Creator 4 problems

I have been trying to put Guns N´Roses "Civil War" onto a CD. The song is more than 7 mins long, but whenever I put the song onto my playlist it shows up as 1:19:20. I have the entire song, and have even downloaded more than one copy of the song, but nothing changes anything. What do I do?

You have the preview set to 1:19 I believe you have to go to options and change it. Go to help on CD Creator and see what it says about the preview option.

There's nothing that will do this for you. You can get software which will help you play along and show you what to do. But as for something that you can just apply to a CD and start practicing - no chance, buddy! You'll be a millionaire if you invent it tho!

Hyperthetically speaking, If a friend of mine (uh hum...) was trying to get hold of a free download of cool edit pro (ie. the whole damn thing) where would he go? If any of you could help him, I'd really appreciate it, although I myself would be appalled at the thought that he would want to download material without paying for it. Some soundcards have midi inputs and outputs, but if you've got a standard soundcard, you'll have to buy a cable that connects to your joystick port. These will have the 10 pin connector on one end and a midi IN and midi OUT on the other. (the IN cord plugs into the OUT on your keyboard and the OUT into the IN on the keyboard).

For sequencing / editing software, check out the "midi sequencer" section of this website. There's plenty of downloads.

If you want to make audio CDs from your midi recordings, you will need a "midi to Wav" converter or an audio sequencer to record from your keyboard into your soundcard. Plenty of these types on this site too. I use Pro Tools Free for pretty much everything.

The convert wavs to mp3s.

An .rmx is a realjukebox music file. You can play it with realjukebox basic. Go to www.real.com click on realjukebox After you'll see on the new page that opens on the bottom left side a link to download realjukebox basic. Click on that and you're in business. An .rmx is a realjukebox music file. You can play it with realjukebox basic. Go to www.real.com click on realjukebox After you'll see on the new page that opens on the bottom left side a link to download realjukebox basic. Click on that and you're in business.
