Public Domain Classical Pieces
Well, not as loops, but many classical compositions are public domain... if you can find some reference for which are and which aren't then go to your local library or find mp3's online and sample the hell out of them... you'll feel a lot better making your own loops than ripping someone else's anyway...

Can someone tell me how to print musical files from Winamp - I have accumulated over 700 music files and would like to print the list. Or how to convert them into WORD.

Use a screen scanning program like SnagIT & choose text scan.
Paste several pages using word or even notepad...

Can anyone suggest good plugins/software for manipulating the stereo sphere dynamics? i.e. mutlitrack arrangements given extra spatial dynamics, for a final stereo CD.
(I use Logic Gold on a B&W G3 with Motu 2408 & audiowerks8 sound cards)

i gots fruity3....i was wondering around trying to thinks where to find me some wav samples for the fruity3....heard on the grapevine that fruitydudes has got a cd full-o-the shit....i meanz wav samples.....is it any good?....can someone direct me to where i can find some wav samples ....i neeeeeed more noi-ses

Sequencer/Loop soft for mac
does anybody know of a sequencer/looping application for mac that has the look, feel, and functionality of fruity loops for win? i used fruity loops at a friend's house and was amazed at how easy it was to sequence patterns together by clicking on a "blank piece of graph paper".

I spoke to the man that owns fruity loops at length and he explained that they would make a mac version but there isn't anyone there that understands how to program for it. I explained to him that a lot of people would buy it but he said that heading for the largest profit is where it's at for him.... Hmmmm, nice attitude
The mac doesn't have a decent program to compare to fruity although you might want to try Phrazer or Groovemaker 2 (which has it's problems). Because of the mac's dominance in the pro music world, I think a lot of software manufacturers haven't caught up with the mac revolution and therefore think there isn't enough people out there that would actually by 'instant music software' for the home user. We know better though but you will have to move up a leg or two and go for what the big boys use... Logic Audio on a mac is unbeatable in my view and can loop sequences (although with more effort) with the ability to easily add wave files anywhere you want them...

Help - How to get best out of "WaveOnWave effect"
I downloaded and tried fleximusic (www.fleximusic.com)
In it's Sound source effects, there is an effect called "WaveOnWave effect".
Every time i change values it produces un-imaginable new sounds.
Can some one please explain how to get best out of it.

You don't want much do you? You should find some freeware in the <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/win95/MULTITRACK_RECORDING/">multi-track section</a>. <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/QuartzStudio_Free/">QuartzStudio</a> might be what you're after.

there is an echo in "pro tools free" download......how do I turn the echo off so I get a clean (echoless) mix.

what's the difference.
This must be a stupid but whatis the difference between a 2DD disk and a 2HD? And is it true if u put tape over the hole of a 2HD disk that it becomes a 2DD disk. e-mail me with a answer
DD and HD
DD = Double density and HD = High density. DD is dead although some old disk drives require it which is a bummer as they aren't so easy to get hold of these days. Any disk drive that isn't archaic will us HD disks which are 1.44 megs where as the DD are 720l formatted. I doubt that it's safe to fool a formatter that a DD is an HD and I think the point about the hole maybe referring to the hole that makes the disk write protected or not. Doubt this will work but maybe i'm missing something...
Use the right disks.... Floppy drives are slow and useless these days so get something more upto date if you can. CD burner maybe??

Hey Dave: Make sure you are sending Midi from your keyboard on the same channel that your software is receiving Midi. I don't know that program but look for Midi settings or something like that under Preferences or System or Options.

You don't need a driver. What you need is a cable to connect the MIDI IN/OUT sockets on the keyboard to the joystick/MIDI port on your sound card. You can then use one of the many sequencer packages (Cubasis, Sound Studio Pro etc.) to record from the keyboard or use it as a sound module, sending MIDI data from the PC to play the keyboard.

on which software package you're using, and how you go about
changing the MIDI settings. Someone out there should be able
to help you with the particular set-up you have.

help please - cubase midi - no sound
I´m using a soundblaster PCI 128 sound card which reproduces midi fine in Reason and did so with Logic Audio aswell.I´ve installed the latest Cubase and while it´s possible to import a midi file and see it´s coloured lines in the track, there´s no sound even though the LED lights indicate that a signal is being produced.I have the same problem with the Vst instruments.Can anyone suggest a solution please?

tap out drums with pooter keyboard?
Is there any software available that will allow me to tap out drums in realtime and quantize it for me? I'm used to using an Alesis SR-16 and would like a similar thing for windows 2000. Ive tried hammerhead and steinberg b-box but you can only sequence the drums. I know i could do it with a MIDI keyboard but it seems silly to buy a keyboard just to do drums. I'd like to use my computer keyboard instead.

....lots of stand alone drum machines that receive midi and you could even use a program like Cubase or Logic Audio to host drum machine plugins that you can play via midi.

When I connect my PC P-III from my sound card out connection to my sony Digital receiver ( the Phono in RCAs) i get a loud buzz or hum. How do i over come that or bottom line how do i connect to listen to my MP3s pver my stereo system. Thanks for any help

The simple way to do it would be to connect the plug that you have your computer speakers connected to (usually a small jack plug) to the aux in on your stereo. Other option is to connect to the video in sockets located at the rear. DO NOT connect direct to the microphone jack plug, it will not do your system any good. You will need a small jack plug to 2 audio connectors for this. Hope this helps

need suggestion on which daw prog to buy
bought tascam's us 428 in part because it came with cubasis. so I thought. can't get it to work, even simple midi controller functions. steinberg told me to call tascam, tascam suggested I buy the upgrade, $200-$400. depending upon whether or not you want to actually use it to record and print to cd. downloaded the upgrade from s.berg (save function disabled) and have had no luck. so here's the question- any of you tech-heads out there have a suggestion for a daw program which iterfaces nicely w/ the tascam and will run on my fujitsu lap W 500mhz 256k 6gig? have a serious deadline and would greatly appreciate any help at all. No Sound from LM-9
Hello everyone. First, I must say that I am a real newcomer to recording gear/software so forgive me if I use incorrect terminology and don't have my facts straight.
My problem is that I can't get any sounds from the LM-9 in Cubase 5 VST/32. I have selected LM-9 from the drop-down panel in Cubase and turned it on; then select a midi track with, say, snare drum data on it (from an imported midi drum track); then choose the LM-9(v1) as "output" in the inspector for the midi track; I see the new audio channels in the mixer for the LM-9 and when I click on an LM-9 pad, I hear the single drum beat. But when I play the midi track, there is no sound.
I'm using the SoundBlaster PC128 card (I know, I know...) and don't know much about midi setup configs. In the past, my SB card has been able to play midi sounds when set to "SB PC128 midi synth" for output in the Midi Setup in Cubase. I have tried to select "LM-9(v1)" as the output but I can't hear the midi track playing. My headphones are always connected to my soundcard.
I figure there's something relatively straightforward that I'm missing. If anybody can give me advice, I'd be grateful.
