cd burning problem

when ever I burn a copy of any music cd from my computer and the cd is split up into more than one track the burned cd pauses when the track changes.
This can be a problem for people who record continuous
mixes like myself. If any one knows of any software that does not do this please e-mail me A.S.A.P.

THANK YOU!

You would be much better off downloading <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/RealPlayer_win32/">RealPlayer</a> than trying to convert the file.

minidisc to MP3

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the best way to extract tracks from my minidisc player to convert them to MP3 files, that I can then burn to CD? Will CD rippers interface with audio line or mic input signal? Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

Hey Mike: First you need to record the tracks from the minidisc onto your harddrive. Then you need an audio editing program such as Cool Edit or Sound Forge to convert to MP3. There are some less expensive programs to do this. Look on this site. Then you need a CD burner and a burning program that support MP3 format, check to see if yours will do that. I just bought a TDK Velocd which has these capabilities but have'nt used it yet. If my math is right you can get 11 or 12 hours of music on one CD, pretty cool.

Thanks for the fast response Coolguy! So I guess my real question is what program would I use to record the minidisc tracks onto my hard drive. I use ACXractor at work to rip from CD's and it works OK, although it does record about 15 seconds into the next track on occation. Once I get the audio to my hard drive, I can convert it and burn it. 11 to 12 hours on 1 CD? Tell me more!

Hey Mike: Any Audio editing program that has MP3 support will do. Cool Edit 2000 is one of the best and cost about $75.00 I think. As a cheaper alternative you could record into Wave Studio which is included with Windows and then import that Wav file into a standalone MP3 converter. There are a lot around, I'm sure there are some on this site. Chek ya later.

Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.0

I'm having trouble recording music CDs on both of my CD Recorders (Samungs and a Philips). When I run the system test under Tools in the Easy CD Creator I the test time out and I get the following error "Read Audio Timeout". Of course I don't have or see any documentation any where and how to resolve this.

When I actually try to burn the CD I get the following error for the Philips "CD Creation Errors: E80004005: Unspecified Error" and on the Samsung I get "CD Creation Errors: E80041848: Comman error-command not issued in sequence." The help doesn't provide any real solution on solving these problems, just try again.

I believe I'm able to burn data files, because that test ran okay, I'm going to try tonight, but I really need and want to burn music. The Phillips is new and the Samsung was acting funny before so that's why I upgrade the software from version 3.0 to version 5.0. And a $150 later and I still can't record music. I'm completely frustrated and don't know where to look for troubleshooting tips. There was nothing of any relevance on their site.

Also, I don't know if the slave/master relationship has anything to do with it, but then I thought if I had it set up wrong, it wouldn't work at and I would be able to play cds on either of them, which I am able to do.

Please help me!!! Thank you very much in advance.

Re: Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.0

It may be down to how your drives are connected together (i.e. which IDE channels
they are attached to). Have a read through http://www.iomega.com/support/documents/10521.html,
it may be useful...it may not..

PopUp Ads and the Handicapped

I really Hate the new pop ad technology this site is using (refered to in the industry as PUSH Technology). This has recently been used by AOL/Compuserve to torture their users. These popups are not only obnoxious but they reak havok with people surfing with disabilities. The browser window focus is shunted to the new window and there is no way to get back to the main page. Try surfing this site using IBM's HomePageReader and you'll see what i mean. Popup ads are bad!!! Don't be so greedy that you ignore the needy. Here are some sources to help you make your site accessible:
http://www.icdri.org/accprim.htm
http://www.webaim.org/standards/508/checklisthttp://www.rit.edu/~easi/workshop.htm

http://www.section508.gov/

HAHAHA !

Sweet Jesus ! HAHAHA !
"Don't be so greedy that you ignore the needy"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !

PopUps...

PopUps? What PopUps? where?

I use opera browser,so no more popups.
If the ad dogs find another way to annoy me, there will be (eventually) something new to protect me.
I used something else in the past too, and since some site ops think they're fooling us, ask THEM what they get from all these popups...

I sympathise

I have at times been cheesed off with the pop up windows but accept (although it's evidentally easier for me) the they are necessary to keep these things going for free.. The internet is a great thing at the moment as it runs on ads like this although I think that is a dying thing which may give way to more subscriptions. This site does offer membership (although I have nothing to do with it other than visiting their forums) which may remove the banners for the members although I don't know if this is the case. Check it out...

I believe pop ups use the java script to work so turning that off will remove the pops ups, check with others to see if it's this easy. Remember though, the net is largely free and for the financial needy, that's as essential as you having to deal with whatever browser you have chosen to remove the offending windows. Moving from window to window for me is easy as I have a keyboard command that does that and allows me to close them down at will. If you have no access the keyboard, it's just a mouse click away. If that's not possible, then maybe it's the technology of that's letting you down, I don't know...

Good luck

Burnt CD's which won't progress from track to track

I am a musician and have burned many CDs without problems from MP3 files, converting to WAVs first, but I have some sort of glitch burning my own composed WAV files. They play fine on my own CD player, but on some PCs the CD will not play continuously from start to finish. When the end of some tracks is reached, there is a pause and the hard disk light comes on and off, indicating it is seeking the start of the next track, but it just does this indefinitely until I stop it and manually select the next track. I can't see why it plays fine on some players but not others, and need to resolve this issue before I make my music available commercially. Can anyone help please?

DVD Image pauses sometimes, why?

Most of my DVD's (new and used) will pause from time to time, is this because of laser cooling? It seem to do it more with the rented DVD's anyone have any experience with this?

Layer swap..

Most if not all DVD's pause during the show to change layers. This isn't uncommon. Players that do this a lot maybe struggling with the whole process of DVD movie playback. I am not familiar with the reasons why but the obvious cleaning (properly) of the disks is probably something to do with it.

I wouldn't doubt that DVD movies aren't open to damage of sorts from bending and scratching so rental movies are going to be the worst of the bunch... Do you have the DVD mpeg hardward on your computer also? some don't

Can't get soundcard to reproduce vinyl in stereo

New to the board-sorry if redundant...Have a SB Live Value sound card-works great EXCEPT when bringing in stereo signal from turntable. I am going from turntable into amp, out of tape out into a stereo mini Y adapter and into sound card line in. I confirmed the signal to the sound card is stereo and have tried 2 stereo Y adapters. The resulting music out of PC speakers is in mono. Thanks in advance for assistance!

Look at the back of your soundcard if it's plugged in the wright line in (not the one with the microphone).
Then check the software of the SB if it's set as stereo input, because conversion to mono is also available.
If this is allright then listen at the amp speakers if they are stereo.
At last but not least try to connect a headphone or something else on the Tape out to listen if that is in stereo.

When all these test doesn't work try to check the used cables. Maybe there's one cable not connected wright at a connector.

Could this possibly solve my notation software problem?

I started another thread, but no one bothered to respond. :( I'm running MusicTime Deluxe software, and using a Roland EM-10 Keyboard. The playback was never accurate after I recorded something, (see other thread for details, it's called "Any others of MusicTime Deluxe, if so can you help me?").

My question is, my joystick port is acting kinda funny, the bolts and stuff keep coming out. Do you think using a midi cable that plugs into my USB port, rather than my joystick port could possibly solve the problem?

Any recommendations on brands of midi cables, etc? Thanks.

I hope someone responds this time...

Re: Could this possibly solve my notation software problem?

The basic rule is: Check soundcard drivers and cables, if all fails download an alternative notation software & see if problem persists.

Maby you have a lot of stuff running at the same time, or little ram etc. The posibilities are endless. Repost if nothing of the above works.

Re: Could this possibly solve my notation software problem?

I'll check the soundcard drivers, but I dunno how I check the cables?

I have 160 megs of RAM, I don't think that should be a problem. I have tried demos or shareware versions of four other notation softwares, no luck. Still the same results.

I'll check for those drivers. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep you updated.

Last chance...

If you allready got new drivers and nothing changed, check the soundcard's site again for FAQ, if nothing's there, email them; they have to respond. Include your system information too (Start\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Information), with detailed description of the problem(s).

Re: Last chance...

Ugh, I did, they responded, and told me since my Computer is OEM, I have to contact Gateway instead. Christ...
