If you've shelled out on three of the four electribe units - why not also get a proper soundcard with proper midi interface and low latency (such as Midiman 24bit 96k)? Normally these cards come with bundled with sequencing software - otherwise you can get cheap shareware sequencing stuff which will work at the level you're at.

A better but more expensive solution would be Cubase or Logic Audio.

If you don't want to get an proper soundcard at least shell out a few quid for a parallel port midi converter. The game port interface is dodgy at the best of times.

Try this. Uninstall the program. Go to the Start logo and click on RUN. Type in MSCONFIG. This brings up the System Configuration Utility. Check Selective Startup and then uncheck load startup group items. Click Apply, restart your computer and reinstall Sound Forge. See if the program is working any better. Then go back and recheck the startup group items to make your computer start like it did before changes. Anyway it's worth a try. Let me know if that works. Later

Electric guitar is one of the most difficult instruments to sample or imitate. Expensive synths try to combine multitimbrality with several midi controllers to simulate guitar in such extreme ways, that not only you should be a guitarist to make sense out of your performance, but a juggler as well.
The above sequence can be transfered theoretically on a midi editor (imitate volume, pitch & tone characteristics of guitar), and after assigning samples (at least one for each note -guitar has lots of ways to play a single note) and styles, you would have something that would be familiar with what a guitar sounds like.
Learning more about the sound you want to imitate might be usefull too -applying effects like chorus, overdrive, pitch shifters,compressors, and tremolo might improve things. Studying the dynamics of guitarists might also help, but the dynamics of a good guitar player can't be fully utilised by any software program (yet)...

O.k. first things first, The main requirement for using soundfonts is a Soundfont compatible Soundcard. The two that I know about (there may be more) are the Creative labs series of soundcards (of which the Live Platinum is the best) and the EMU Audio Production studio (APS). the SBLive is the cheaper option but is aimed more at Gamers than musicians. The EMU APS has ASIO (Audio Strem Input/Output -I think :->) drivers which are a great benefit if you use Cubase and VST instruments... that is another story!!
O.K. Once you have your card and have loaded the software, you will have an application which loads the Soundfont into memory to make it available to the card for playing. The .SF2 files(Soundfont files) can be placed anywhere on you hard drive as the Soundfont Application will have a "browse" button, to allow you to search for these files.
Once you have loaded your soundfont into memory, using the supplied software, your Soundcards synths will be available in your host sequencer application (Cubase etc... The SB Live Platinum comes with a bundled Cubasis sequencer)and you will then be able to play those sounds from a connected MIDI keyboard.

There are many ways to do this, but the simplest way to do this is as follows:

1: Ok first man, your going to need to open your mp3 in notepad. Open notepad,select files/open then change the tab at the bottem of the menu to "ALL FILES" so you can select the mp3.

2: Now you need to Accumulat the Checksum.
