listening to dialogic vox in truespeech

I have an urgent need for help listening to dialogic vox files sent in windows 98 to play on cool edit. When I open the file in windows 2000 the voice is too fast and helium sound. I have slowed the rate but that didn't work. I have used some of the tools to slow down but that doesn't work. PLEASE HELP!!!

Depends on how advanced you want to get.

I say go for Cakewalk's Sonar and stay away from that made for mac ProTools.

one answer is what feels a more comfortable environment 4 u. another is there r a lot of ways to do it. if u a beginer u should try - Rebirth or Fruityloops, or Reason, or Orion, or Acid etc. More advanced users #may# prefer CubaseVST with a bunch or vst synths or Logic with the same or Reason rewired to Cubase/Logic. Plenty people will uses Fruityloops to create beats/riffs and export them into a cubase type sequencer. try lots of stuff plenty out there + no set way to do it.

after i download an Mp3 the mp3 music file will go to my music file on my computer. Then i enter my music files and drag the music file into my private music collection because i share a computer. when i click on it to play it sometimes wimamp will come up and play the song i clicked on but other times the picture next to the name of the song will change from a piece of paper with a small orange lightening bolt through it to a what seems like, a computer screen. when the picture next to the name of the song changes to the computer screen picture i can't play the song. when i right click on it, the information that comes up on the menu are things such as open, move to zip ect... it doesn't even give me the option to play the song. i don't know what i am doing. i am just clicking on the music name.

The full name of the song you want to hear should be:
anysong.mp3
If the characters after the dot are different than mp3 , many, many,... many strange things could happen (request to connect to the internet, install a game, spread a virus all over the shared pc, or it could search for the target file for the shortcut you have clicked -usually on the internet).
Try using the add files option of Winamp.

This question has been answered often so I will ask you to have a look down the forum page and it will become clear....

I can tell you not to plug your record player directly into your computer or any line level as they are not made to work together and may cause harm.. Plug into your amplifier first and then take a tape output from the amp and all will be well....

I've got a huge problem. recently found some files in
*.rmx formate and their names indicated that they were
music. as I was unable to play them through winamp I changed their formate to *.mp3 by simply adding this in the end but it still didn't work. If someone has any tips please let me know....

In the past I've used Winamp to convert Napster MP3's to .wav files for CD creation. Now suddenly it doesnt work! It does absolutely nothing when I try to convert a playlist. When I go into Options>Preferences>Output I'm not getting the same options as before. Very confused. Can someone shed some light or tell me how else I can convert mp3 to .wav? Thanks!

There are a lot of programs that will convert MP3 to WAV.I use CDex, which I find very good.

I would like to present our software for WAVE to MIDI conversion. It
named WIDI by Music Recognition Team. The last version of our software
can be downloaded from http://www.widisoft.com.

WIDI is designed to automate transcribing of music. This means, you
can recognize the audio record and convert it to MIDI file by pressing
a key. You can improve recognition quality by adjusting parameters of
recognition. They are: number of voices, minimal note duration,
conversion method and others. Also, using Equalizer tool you can
choose the frequencies to recognize. More detailed description on how
to use WIDI can be found in WIDI help file.

Other advantage of WIDI is possibility to use great amount of
different formats as input - mpg, mp1, mp2, mp3, .cda (.cda file - is

to "convert" mp3 to midi the most important professional "tool" is your brain, some musical talent, technical knowledge, some ability to transcribe music, all of which you need to be able to create a midi-file by using some sort of sequencer or recording software. that´s how it´s done. either by you or find someone who has done it.

but most midi-files out there are pure crap. not only concerning sound (this always depends on the used gear) but concerning groove: "real" music has nuances and subtle variations which midi-files most often do not.

but there are indeed _some_ (software)tools available which are -within narrow boundaries- able to convert monophonic, single-instrument WAV-files to MIDI-files. but as soon as harmonies or a bigger change in tone colour appear, these tools produce many errors which must be corrected by the user afterwards.

An far as I know, you can't convert an MP3 file to a MID file. A
MID file is a multitrack data file which contains data about which
instruments are used and which notes they play. It's not possible
to extract this data from an MP3, or any other kind of stereo or
mono recording.

Having said that, I'm sure someone out there will prove me wrong..

Talk about asking the impossible! Once a piece of music has been mixed down to a
stereo or mono track, there is no way you can selectively remove particular
instruments or replace them with another. It's difficult enough hearing what
some instruments are playing, let alone try to replace them.

The only format where you can add, remove or change individual parts is a MID file,
where all the instruments are still separate (or possibly a multi-track recording,
although even this would be tricky).

It can't be done. There is no way of removing the vocals without
affecting the remaining music.

I'd like to transfer these songs I've saved on floppy to my calkwalk or Reasons or Cubase programs on my pc (Athlon). How can this be done?

The whole scenario of windows recognising a format from other computers can be a pain so make sure that the format is done on the PC to make sure. Going the other way shouldn't be a problem as the mac will read anything...

The other way is to e-mail them to the wintel machine as then it will save it in something it can understand. Make sure also that the file extension is correct (xxxxxxxx.mid) as this can make a difference with file identities....

Keyboard Software

I've got several original songs recorded on my Panasonic keyboard, on a floppy disk. I would like to put them onto sheetmusic. I believe there are software programs that can do this, but this is a new and unfamiliar world to me. Help please?

You'll need a midi editor. Look at the download section for it. The standard procedure is fairly easy, you should consult the midi editor's manual (read chapters, not phrases), to make sure proper soundcard settings are used...

In This program you will find the program
Spin doctor, there you can put the music from LP to your harddisk
