well let's see...midiports: In-A lights up when i plug in my SU10 and try a transfer (suggesting it's receiving something)...and Out-A and Out-B light up when i do the tests in OMS studio...but when i am trying to do an SDS through In-A midi port at the front and click on the receive button in the Peak SDS dialog box the Out-A light flickers momentarily..suggesting that is where the software thinks the signal should be coming from here??? so far In-A only lights up in response to the SU10 sending data and doesn't respond to my imac...is this right???

thing is i've never done a MIDI SDS transfer on this set up before (or anything else) so i don't actually know if the midisport is properly recognised by the software!

my OMS studio diagram has the midisport at the top and ports 1 and 2 represented with in and out arrows going from port 1 to the named SU10 and in and out arrows going from port 2 into an unnamed generic device...i notice that when i clicking on the SU10 picture in the diagram i have the option to go to 'studio' in the menu and either chose 'different in/out ports' or 'sort by port/name'...do i need to do something here?

ffffinally...the tech man at midiman.net admitted that midiman wasn't all that perfect at doing 'big sys ex dumps'..i asked him how big? (1-2 secs, 4-6 secs??) but he hasn't replied...

if you lived in london i'd pay you the going rate to come and fix this!!

: I do use Peak for editing and sample transfer via SMDI (SCSI transfer) to my Yamaha EX5r and it works a treat. I can't say that I have ever sample dumped over midi though and up to this point wasn't aware that peak has the facility to dump via Midi..

: I have the USB midi Sport 2 x 2 running from a Mac G4 and the studio setup was quite simple. It sort of did it for me. How did you do yours and did you name the ports correctly in your studio setup so they are easily understandable from within applications?

: I have just had a look at the SDS in peak and it looks straight forward enough. If you have selected SDS and then selected the correct port on the midi sport... (it does say Midi sport as an option although you should select the specific Midi output you want to send from rather than Midi sport itself. It may work anyway but it's best to know that you are sending out of one specific port that you 'know' has the midi leads connected in the right places). If you have used the same port that you are selecting to transfer SDS in a midi program such as a Multitracker like Cubase/Logic and it worked, I can't see that it would be your OMS setup.

: Hmmmm.... Don't know what else to say other than name your Midi sport ports to the name of the first midi device in that chain (OMS setup), it makes it easier to remember which chain you are sending and receiving midi from. Try SDS again and remember to select the Midi sports correct port rather than the midi sport itself.

On the topic screen scroll down & you'll find 2 replies: a wavelab (or windows recorder) solution & a Cakewalk one. They both work...

To burn stuff onto a CD, it has to be in WAV format. If you look in the Music Software section here you'll find coverters for just about all formats.

I don't know the answer but I do know that it can have something to do with either the Buffer Size (system and applications sometimes) or the soundcard driver. I am not under the impression that the first Pro-Tools free was a great one for ASIO drivers or Audio card specific drivers. Check that your audio/sound card drivers are up to date. Mac man myself and therefore don't know where else to point you...

Hallo, scuse my english.
If you have a stereo wav, you can mix channels in this way:
Invert Right ch 180° phase and mix into Left ch
Invert ORIGINAL Left ch 180° and mix into Right ch
In this way you obtain a mono .wav file that save only the stereo information (only music whitout vocal).

This may sounb daft, but I wait until the program prompts me to put a CD in the burner rather than putting the CD in first. I used to have the same problem as you but now it's solved.

I doubt however that it will work for you but it is worth a mention.

What program are you using??? How much memory do you have assigned to it??? do you still have the installer CD??? What Mac do you have??? What are you doing when it freezes???

Connect the tape player with your soundcard (mini stereo plug to 2 RCA plugs cable needed usually), run windows recorder or Wavelab, goto your mixer settings & enable line in Rec, After recording into wave format use a CD copier program (like Nero or Easy CD creator etc) to burn the CD. Remember to enable the option Disk At Once to make sure the CD plays in HiFi CD players...

If you open up the RAM file using a text editor you'll see something like a URL to a file. That's the file you want.

I think you just highlight it and press escape to delete it.
I dont have the program installed at the moment so its not infront of me to test, but i know i remove bits of unwanted elements like that
