How to record Karaoke CDG's
I would like to make a duplicate of my karaoke CDG library. How do I record from cd to cd when it is a karaoke CDG? I have tried to do this already and all I was able to record is the music, no graphics. I am also interested in adding to my CDG library by recording off the internet. What kind of equipment do I need to record both the music and the graphics and what type of CD do I need to record on. (recordable or recordable/rewritable)
a component that can handle dubing to 3 or more recorders
i need a component that can do away without patch cords.
Need help on Music Organization
I have downloaded many MP3 songs which need to be converted to WAV files and eventually burned into CD's. It is a disorganized mess at the current time. Please advise me about how to best organize this process... What software may be available to do this or any other suggestions you have.
Thanks

record comp to cd
How to record music from computer to CD?
Re: record comp to cd
: How to record music from computer to CD?
You need CD writer of course. And a blank CD-R.
The most of CD writing software can record an Audio CD.
The best way is to store the music as WAV files on Your HD, 16 bit, Stereo, 44.1 kHz format.
Then open CDR software and choose option "Make Audio CD". U can use f.ex. Adaptec EZCD, WinOnCD, NERO.
If Your music is in MP3 format, You can decode it to WAV with f.ex. MP3 Decoder, WinAmp MP3ToWav.
You can also record directly from MP3 files, but in such a case You need a little faster PC couse decoding from MP3 takes time.
Remember to close the session after burning the CD if program You use does not do it by itselv.
And record the whole CDR at one session couse after closing You will not be able to add any new songs.
Burn at 2x speed , max 4x and never run any other program when burning. Close also ScreenSaver or antivirus software.
Never use CD-RW as Audio CD since almost none of CD player can play CDRW.
And You are to know, there are few brands of CD players that can not even play CDR.

Can't record second track without the first track bleeding throu
I have a demo Cakewalk program I'm trying. I'll record the first track and then when I do the second, whatever I recorded on the first track is rerecorded on the second. I've tried everything I can think of and the only way to stop it is to mute the wave setting on my windows mixer, but then I can't hear the first track to play along with it. I have a micron pc with 750mhz 64ram and a VIA audio sound card. Do I need a different sound card? Please help.
Selling music on a website
I have a CD of songs that I'd like to sell on a site I'm currently working on. I want to give about 10 secs of maybe three or four of songs. Then would like to be able to have the buyer download the whole CD through credit card purchase. Question:
How can I do this with my computer? Do I need special software? Do I put the music on in .wav form .ra or what? Is it beyond me, or do I need special help and equipment to do this?
Please email me with any suggestions you may. I appreciate any email I can get on the matter. Thank you so very much,
Izari
Re: Selling music on a website
Kevin is right. MP3 files are the way to go. Go to MP3.com, and download MusicMatch. I have found this to be the best all-purpose MP3 software, and it's free! With it, you can rip your tunes into MP3 files, and offer them for download on your site. Two or three tunes should be a sufficient taste.
As far as CD purchases, the easiest way is to make a form that people can fill out on your website. This is easy to do if you have FrontPage. The submitted info can be forwarded to your email, so you can complete the order. For payment, you can offer a PayPal link, so that you can, in effect, accept a credit card purchase, but you don't have to go through all the extra hassle! PayPal.com, by the way, if you're not familiar.
I know this is a lot, but it really is the most cost-effective, yet professional way to do it, in my opinion.
Good luck!
Re: Selling music on a website
Izara,
What about using an mp3 format to give people a tatse of the music?
THen if you already have the CDs you can always send them via post if people want to buy..
Additionally, you might want to consider the "10 secs of 3 or 4 songs." I mean, I listen to lots of music online, and 10 seconds isn't much of a bite.
I would be more likely to buy a cd if I could hear at least one or two whole songs first (kinda like hearing a hit on the radio, then going out and buying the cd from that exposure)
look at the Mp3.com model: people post four or five songs from a cd and then offer the cd for sale.
This seems to work for some artists on the site (some people have actually made some real money doing this)
Just a thought,
K
Re: Selling music on a website
To sell online you need to get special credit card purchasing software. You could then give the buyer access to your album. It is up to you which format you upload your tracks in, but bear in mind the buyer may only have a modem connection and 10 songs of 3 to 4 mins each in mp3 format will take over 3 hours to download and in wav will take forever.
Thanks

Recording via mic input
Looking for freeware recording software using the mic input that will also let you monitor (listen) while recording. RecAll is great, but can't hear it whle recording.

I believe it is not the software giving you trouble. ONe has to turn the microphone on using the mixer. THe mixer is represented by the "speaker icon" in the bottom right corner of the windows taskbar. I bet you will find the microphone is "muted" for "playback" but not muted for "record".

MP3 encoder quality comparison
Hi There;
Have been using Bladeenc to encode wav to MP3, but am curious if anyone has found a better quality encoder, or compared Blade, Fraunhofer, etc...in terms of sound quality. What do you prefer?
Thanks for your time,
Ed
Re: MP3 encoder quality comparison
I've used both the encoders and would recommend you stick with Blade. However, for the ultimate sound editor, decoder and encoder use Steinberg's Wavelab 3. It will encode with excellent quality and you also get a choice of several different fixed bit rates and a variable bit rate.
Thanks
Lee
Re: MP3 encoder quality comparison
Thanks for the info!! I'll give Wavelab a whirl..

How can I record my own tapes on CD?
How can I reccord my own tapes on cds? I have recorded a lots of my own songs on a tape and now I want to make a cd.But I'm not so experienced..in softwares...so please where can I find a FREEWARE software in which I can record tapes on cd? Please help me I'm desperate all the software that can do this are very very expensive!!!! Please reply to my message soon!!!TNX!!!
Re: How can I record my own tapes on CD?
The best way is to download MusicMatch from www.musicmatch.com . You will have to convert your tapes to .mp3. Your tapes are in .wav format, so you will have to use a tape deck player, connected to the LINE-IN connection of your PC.( Go to Radio Shack for your "Y" type cable, which you will connect to the "Right"
and "Left" stero outlet jacks of the tape deck, player. The bottom of the "Y" will have an RCA type of plug which you will insert into the
LINE-IN jack ). Copy the tape music (which will be in .wav format) to a Directory on your hard drive, ( Say, name it C:\Wavefile). With the use of MusicMatch you will now be able to convert the .wav (song) into an mp3 and then will be be
able to record onto a CD. MusicMatch can do all of this for you. Best of all MusicMatch is FREE. You don't need the PLUS option. The basic Music Match will do the job. HOPE I HAVE MADE YOUR DAY.....

converting mono real audio sermon files to cd
I have real audio mono sermon files, and I want to
convert them so I can listen to them on a regular
cd player.
I have tried converting them to stereo wav files with
Streambox Ripper 2.09 - then written them onto disks,
and they will only play on my computer.
I have used CD-RW disks and Easy CD Creator software to
create an audio CD.
Do I have to use CDR disks only ?
What advice can anyone give me ?
Thanks.

It's easy, convert all files to WAV format, 16 bit, 44.1 kHz, Stereo.
Use f.ex. CoolEdit , GoldWave or Adaptec WaveEditor (follows with EZCD 4).
Then burn as Audio CD (DO NOT burn as Data).
Never use CD-RW, only CD-R disk.
Anyway, read this: http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/wwwboard/messages/58575.html
