How can I make midi- recording easier?

I´ve got a midiprogram connected to my keaboard.
The "problem" is that you must play the hole song
at once, otherwise there will not be a pefect resault
due to all the "clips". Anyone who have tips?

Sounds like your having a problem with your program. You shouldn't be getting "clips" when recording MIDI.
Take a look at these programs

vtt not working at all

doubts in developing asx files

I have constructed an asx file.This file consists of a large number of asf files.I tried to call this asx file in a browser.But i am getting an error denoting that check ur URL and path name.But if i am calling an asf file alone it is running from the same URL & path.
Then how can i call a script either perl or asp from an asx file which should run another asf file.Consider in a collection of songs i would like to feature advertisements that should be decided in the fly.The advertisements which are in the asf format should be generated dynamically using scripts.Provide a solution for this.

winamp plugins "speakers"

The speakers I'm talking about are not the kind you plug into the side of your computer. they are a visual effect (plugin) for winamp. I think they are pretty kool. Where can I get the biggest selection of them to download.

HELP !!!!!!!!!!!! I downloaded a lot of things for winamp. I'm having thouble trying to downloadsome of the effects because they are to large to open so they can only be accesed by notepad. I don't know how to enable them and they are just taking up space.

Hi i,m looking for the same thing I use Jammer which quickly transposes song/sections to the chords entered, but would also like to find something to enter my riffs/tunes & quickly hear transposed. Cubase has the Phrase synth which can do it but I use Logic which can't.

There hasn't been too many solutions on the Net about doing that. There are various programs referred to on the Net that can take a single note melody of a song (say a trumpet solo or a vocal solo) and turn that into MIDI. If you're still pursuing it, I can convert more complicated wavs into MIDI files. Of course, the sound quality won't quite be there (after all, we are dealing with standard MIDI instruments), but it can be done.

Hi, I'm trying to use the OEM Creative card that came with my PC, to digitize from LP's. When I set the line in level in the Win98 Recording controls so that the input never clips (reported by the Wave Review tool to peak at least 1.5dB below the 0dB level, the playback is terribly distorted. CD and WAV playback made on my machine at work, including a clip peaking at 0dB, sound just fine. Wondering what I can do to solve the problem without recording at very low levels and then maybe introducing artifact by Normalizing prior to CD burn.

How to record our voice on to a cd

Hi there

He'll need a microphone for vocals and recording guitar. There's a lot of ways this can be done, but if he's just starting out (and if he's like the teenager i was) it's best to keep things simple initially.

To record songs he'll need a multi-track recorder. <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/n-Track_studio/">n-Track</a> is by far the best for someone starting out. An audio editor will be needed for the original recordings such as vocal tracks or guitar. I recommend <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Cool_Edit_2k/">Cool Edit 2000</a>. Finally, he'll need a CD burning program. Most burners provide their own, but I'll assume you haven't got one. <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Nero_win32/">Nero</a> is a popular program.

Easy way to increase gain of audio track

I need to know of a program that will allow me to change the gain of an audio track before I burn it. I had PEAK LE, it stopped working after 14 days and I can't figure out how to get it to work again. Any other programs out there that will simply let me change the volume of an audio file?

zeep.com a Canadian firm, sales some kind of sofware suposed to work on Mac.
The soft for Yamaha O1v digital mixer called "zeep tools O1v" this application dont work and zeep com do not answer to any of your request. So please advise any potential customer to stay away from this company.

In order to use soundfonts, I believe you need a sound card that supports soundfonts. The SoundBlasterLive! series does, i'm not sure if any others do.
Once you have the soundfonts, you need to load them and then you can play around with them.
You load them by opening "Audio HQ" in your soundblaster software, and then double clicking on the "soundfont" icon. Choose a bank and then click the load button to browse for a soundfont that you have. Select one, and it should load. You can load more than one at a time as long as they are in different banks.
I don't know much about the software that supports them, but one midi sequencer that does is Massiva (and it's free too).

the real problem

the real problem isn't to load the sounfonts, is when you are
going to use it. I've got cubase VST and evolution audio , when i select
SBLive!MIDIsynth as the device, it never sounds the soundfont I've just loaded.
the only times i made it sound with other thing than the SBKeyboard was with
evolution and I have to change the bank and the program number in the event editor,
but now it doesn't work anymore.HELP!

Need to Learn

Can anyone suggest a good comprehensive guide on how to get this whole thing started? From typical signal chains to generic software setups (multi-track, sound generators, midi control, mix-downs...etc). I'm currently using Cakewalk 7 Pro (thinking about buying the upgrade to 9 Pro Audio. I've got a P120, Soundblaster AWE32, MIDI Keyboard, SR-16, and need to do analog input for bass, guitars, vocals. I don't have a mixing board yet for interface.

I know I'm facing a bit of a learning curve here and want to reduce it as soon as possible. Not afraid to read and I'm definitely open to suggestions.
