I'm a warez junkie but I respect the shit load of work those propellerheads have done to produce the most powerful hardware emulater I've seen! I even bought the t-shirt! buy it! no need to try it! I'm quite eccstatic about it really.

Press Performance 10, you now have local off.
Next press A for sounds (right of screen), you now have midi channel 15 (syn lead 1).
Change to midi channel 16 (top right button to left of screen)
Last, press Midi In button (left).
That's it.
If you put in a floppy Labelled Cubase Startup, and save the setup, you'll never have to do it again. Leave the disc in for when you switch on, and press Midi In when it's finished booting.
Now tell us all about Gem downloads!
Roland EG-101 and Cubase VST 32b misinterpreting eachother!
I'm trying to make a decent interface between my keyboard and computer. Everything works except that he sounds are all twisted and fucked up when they are interpreted by Cubase. I already changed the channels, but the problem remains. HELP!!!

Can't hear playback!--Says I need the "sound" control panel? Wh
All I have in my controls is the monitor & sound control. I am trying to use Micrologic and Pro tools with no success. I see it playing and the meters are going, but I hear nothing????? Help!!!! I need to make music!!!
Monitors and Sound I think...
is an all in one control panel for the Macintosh. In OS 9, they are seperate. What OS do you have. If you run Monitors and Sound then you should be able to select the sound panel. It's quite easy from there as you just select your input and output to what you want. If you have an installed soundcard then it will give you that option as well.
Check from within Pro-Tools to see what the Audio driver is up to. If you have NO soundcard then just select the Normal Mac AV. In Logic Audio, go to the Audio Drivers page and select Mac AV and make sure you have nothing else selected UNLESS you have a soundcard then you will need to select the correct one OR the ASIO driver depending on what soundcard you MAY have. After changing the settings, sometimes you have to reboot the programs or the OS which is a good idea. If you are running both programs at the same time then you may run into problems. The Mac OS will play, at the same time, the audio from more than one program which can be handy although I doubt it is happy doing it with anything.

Now i totally fucked up my Performer.
There's a dialog box that appears all the time when i open the Performer warning i can't use the Audio tracks (just Midi) what's wrong? What did i do wrong?
Weeks ago was .."can't load the Retro As-1 programs, there are no engines,please reinstall.."
I did it and everything worked fine until today, what can i do, reinstal the Audio tracks?(Isn't that funny as it sounds!)Well, if anybody knows whatever could help i'll be more than grateful.No to mention the lost work.....Uffffffff!

You maybe...
You maybe better off considering a package Like Cubasis or Logic Audio AV. They are very cheap and come with manuals. At least you would be able to learn the program quickly and have the support from the company you bought it from.
Getting manuals for expensive programs is very hard over the net or from elsewhere. Don't kill yourself over it, it's not worth it.

CONVERT MP-3'S TO MIDI OR SEPARATE TRACKS
Is there any software available that will convert mp3's to midi files, or separate the mp3 into separate tracks and allow me to load it into cakewalk or other sequencer program?

Seq to wav file
I just purchased Music Center by Data Becker and produced a song. However, I can only save it as a ".Seq" file. But I would like to publish it, and therefore need to convert it to both .Wav and .mp3 formats. How? Is there some software out there that can do this for me?

Psion Wavefinder poor audio quality why?
I have purchased a Psion Wavefinder (DAB radio receiver) and I am using it on an IBM Aptiva 2139-E57 running Win98SE - Pentium II - 400Mhz - 128Mb RAM and a Creative Labs AWE64 GOLD sound card. The live audio quality I get with the Wavefinder is telephone quality and sibilant. If I use the record feature on the package that comes with the Wavefinder that records in either MP2 or MP3 and then play the recording back that sounds fine. Does anyone know of a solution?

How do I get a prog for acually writing a score on the pc?
How do I get a prog for actually writing a score on the PC, because I have this great piece online and everytime I try to print it, I just get a few bars in because the music is so big. I figure I can re-write the music so it's a lot smaller and will print out easier. Thanks.

I have heard discussion regarding this sort of thing before although with no firm answers. I think the reality is the .SNG file not only contains the note information, but certain settings specifically for the Composer. I suspect that people have bothered to write app's that may convert just the note info and create a Midi file although I haven't seen any, but I haven't had to look.
The obvious way is to load the SNG and that save it as a Midi file, does it let you do that? Do you have the MC still?
Have a look down this page for many Roland links. If something is available, then this is a good place to start looking for it...

Does any body know what software I can use to put track number in between my mix when I send it to the CD Writer? All info is greatly appreciated.

Here's what you do Crazybear. Assuming you have one long WAV file of your mix that you want to burn. To create separate tracks, you will have to split this WAV file into several smaller files (where you want each track to start and end). Use any audio editor to do so.
You will require CD burning software that supports disc-at-once (DAO) writing to CD so that you can burn with no silence or gaps between each track. Then you will have your mix playing without pause, but you could still skip to any track point within the mix.

I was able to split my wave file into 12 shorter one using Goldwave. Now my problem is that Nero Burning Rom does not recognize my HP 9500 writer. Does anyone know which software support DAO that also recognize the HP 9500 writer? Thanks!

You can use your HP 9500!
A note on the Nero Supported Drives page at www.Ahead.de says;
'You need a patch for using this drive under the current Nero Release. You can get a patch from patch@ahead.de'
So you can email them for the patch to use you HP 9500 drive and you should be on your way!

Use Mini-stream Ripper instead of Streambox ripper. Streambox ripper is unvailable and cant support realaudio 10 now.
Mini-stream Ripper is the best one after Streambox ripper.
No MIDI signals into my PC?? Dummy help needed!
Hi,
As a novice I hope for some help. I have attached my Roland EL-piano with a standard MIDI cable to the gameport of my PC, but no MIDI signals seems to come through to the PCs sound module. As far as I understand there is not a separate sound card in my PC but its part of the "main card" (motherboard). And according to the online specification this contains a Microsoft Wavetable GS synth as MIDI driver.
But this is for the MIDI out signals (i.e. out to the "sound card" I presume). Do I need a separate driver for MIDI-in signals as well??
When trying to run a demo version of "Cakewalk in concert" I get the message "The MIDI input device is apparently already in use...(etc)". What does that mean?
And, yes, I have attached the MIDI IN cable to the piano's OUT port and vice versa...
