What do you mean by Sequences. It's such a confusing term and could mean many things. If you mean sections of the music like "the first 20 seconds" etc, then you would need to use a simple Audio editor. Try out the file area on this site.
If you want to seperate instruments then it can't be done. A stereo file cannot be seperated into it's various instruments and is unlikely to be possible until someone extremely clever is born into this world. You could try some of the useless karaoke programs on this site although they just about manage to remove vocals (very badly) from some stereo mixes. Try it and be disappointed..!

can CD&G's be downloaded?
I've recently bought a karaoke machine that plays CD&G's (whatever the hell they are) and was wondering if there was somewhere like napster or summat where you could download them for free. Hmmmmm.

No known way of doing this yet. One thing you could do is isolate tracks from many of the available midi files using a sequencer and then do a midi to wav conversion using software designed for that purpose (capturing software is out there too)or by recording to another pc. intelliscore.net has a wav to midi conversion software to convert audio to midi files, but I don't know how well it works. Anyway - good luck.
Re: new to this please tell me...
I don't agree that this can't be done at all.
AnalogX will rip off vocals totally in some cases.
But it seeme to depend on the recording. Sometimes
it only reduces them, and then equalization can
sometimes help to make them usable at least as
vocal backings for example. Sometimes it does
nothing at all. Dunno why, maybe somebody else
does ?

Re: new to this please tell me...
Probable reason as to why this does not always work is that most lead vocals are recorded int the centre of the stereo sound and can therefore be isolated quite easily. However, with modern techniques vocals are put all over the place constantly panning across the whole stereo spectrum this is when you face the problem of getting some or even none when trying to isolate them. Indeed the only sure-fire way would be to get the original masters!

Re: new to this please tell me...
I posed this question the answer to which might interest you: Having sheet music scanned and turned into MIDI , WAV or any other format could it be then replayed on keyboard or synthesizer of
which kind . SIBELIUS came up with scorch5 scanning program that seems to claim it could read sheet music and convert it into MIDI files a
nd via sequencer these could be played in audio.
ANYBODY OT THERE WHO COULD SHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS QUESTION AND OBVIOUS DARKNESS ?!
If I get u right Zlatko you want to...
have a midi file played through a keyboard? Well it's very easy! Either get a keyboard with a floppy drive and load a midi file into it on a floopy disk or play the midi file on your PC while a keyboard is connected to your joystick port with a midi cable. If u select this port for the 'midi out' in the midi file player then the data will be sent to your keyboards soundmodule for playback instead of your soundcard!

I have an similiar program that I found a while ago. It is called SharpEye Music OCR. You can scan sheet music and it will convert it into a MIDI file. it takes a little time to get started and figure out how to use it but once you figure it out, it's really simple. You can Download the Fully Functional Evaluation version for free at www.visiv.co.uk
Goldwave can remove vocals!
well, Goldwave is an easy editor, it can remove vocals but not bass or other thing.
try with the eQ.
any other question?
bye bye
Re: new to this please tell me...
you could try an audio editor like cool edit or goldwave , or use direct X vocal remover plug in. This can filter out some bits and pieces from stereo images. Possibly not exactly what you're looking for but fun non the less.
Dream on mann!!!!
to many people have been asking the same question.
THE ANSWER IS NNNNNNNOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNEEEEEEEE!!!
Sorry mann try another question.

Recording on Cakewalk
I am trying to figure out how to record voice on Cakewalk 9. Could someone give me an idea, as the information I have is not as clear as I would like it to be. Thanks
Re: Recording on Cakewalk
That's a tooooo general question. You need to say what's your basic setup, and why can't you record the voice. Does Cakewalk "recognize" your audio intareface? Are you using an audio console or an external mic pre-amp. What audio interface?
You need to be more specific for getting help.
Cheers

How do I create an audio CD of my cakewalk midi files?
I have a rather unique problem. I have made many calkwalk songs (all in .mid file form) and they are all saved on a rather old and crappy computer I have at home. I want to make audio CD's of these songs, but my old computer will not support the CD-writing drive I own. I have a very quick computer at work, and can easily make CD's there, but I need to find out a way of transporting my midi files to my work computer. I would just install cakewalk at work, but I don't have a nice sound card at work, and the quality of the songs is severely compromised when they are played through different soundcards. What I am basically looking for is a way to transport files containing audial information about the songs from one machine to another. If I were to convert them to wave files, it would take well over fifty disks just to store them with. I am wondering if there are any other solutions that people may have already found. This has really been bothering me, and I will appreciate any feedback I receive. Thanks for your time, whomever you are.

If you have internet access on both computers, sign up for a free internet drive, like x-drive. Upload the files to the free internet drive and download them onto the computer you are transfering them to.

midi sounds
I'm new to midi. How come when i download a midi song from the internet.. why does it sound so shittie? Do i need some kinda program to make the drums and other instruments sounds better? help me...thanx
Re: midi sounds
Your problem with poor quality sounding midi might just be that your sound card isn't set up with a wave table. Most modern sound cards come with software driven wave table synthesis. These will typically sound much better then the sythesized midi sounds. I've noticed that some sound cards (especailly older ones) default to the synthesized sounds instead of the wave table sounds. Try to locate the setup for your card look for the options of loading wave files or sound fonts.
Roland sells a sound canvas program that simply installs on your computer and does the wave table synthesis that is very nice. It works with just about any sound card.
I am personally using the sound blaster live card now. It can use sound fonts. This can greatly improve the sound quality of your midi files.
Bob
great question - why midi sounds rubbish!
No problem Geng,
The thing is, a midi file actually contains no sounds whatsoever - it is only a data file which contains information which can be 'read' by a midi soundmodule (like your soundcard). So the sounds you hear are produced by your soundcard! A standard card will have 127 'voices' eg piano/violin and these are the only sounds you will hear no matter what midi file u play!
OK so the answer is to upgrade your poor quality soundcard (if it isn't integrated with your motherboard that is). If this is not possible a great solution is to load a software soundcard ('emulated') which will read a midi file but then creates it's own sounds which are then sent to your hardware card as audio signals to be played. A really good emulated card is Yamaha's SY-XG50/100 and Roland produce one too.

So I have to buy a new hardware? Is there a software that does that also?
Re: great question - why midi sounds rubbish!
Hello,
These are good cards but a little more pricey than absolutely necessary.
I produce some professionally with the Creative Blaster Live. It has an
emulation chip that is tops and a great deal of flexability. It has the
ability to do well with imported sound files also.
