yeah i have my 1880 pc and triton midi together. you will have to use the roland as the master. now all you can really do is sync the tempo and from the 1880 control the play and stop functions which is good for using a pattern created on the pc(i use fruity loops)to sync with the 1880 to play @ the same time. What you have to do is hit shift system(f4 i think). go to sync gen and use the time dial to switch to midiclk. that should enable you midi, and have the 1880 as the master. now depending on the program you use you will want to configure it as the slave and midiclk settings.

I think it is within the realm of possibility that you could get a program which is an "Atari Emulator" for your Compaq. You would open the emulator, and from within the emulator you would open the EZ-Score software and play the music.

As the music plays, you should be able to record it with some typical recording software, set to use your system sound as the recording source instead of using something like a mic or line-in.

It sounds to me as if your car MD player only supports the old "SP" track format, which unfortunately can only be recorded using older units, in realtime (analog or digital (optical)) recording.

Your friend's car unit supports MDLP, so it *can* play the LP2 or LP4 tracks.

I think the best options available to you at the moment are to either replace your old car MD unit with one which supports MDLP, or to replace it with a CD unit that has a standard 3.5mm line-in which you can connect to the headphone output of your Minidisc player.

Its been my desire to learn how to read and understand music with tonic solfa and possibly know how to compose songs. Could you assist with a free download on these subjects? I will greatly appreciate it.
