MIDI PROBLEMS

-Creative LIVE soundcard
-System Windows 2000 Professional
Why does no midi-data get to my computer?
Do I need special driver to make my pc work with the keyboard? What can I do?
Is there a freeware-tool to test the connection?

RIAA ROBBER BARONS

The RIAA are the pirates. They only care about how much they can take from the music consumer and they have never paid the artists their fair share of the proceeds from the sale of music. Why would Michael J. and The Dixie Chicks have had to sue to get anything from their record sales if the RIAA was fair. They charge two or three times too much for the music- a CD costs what a whole DVD concert with historical info and tour info costs. Eleven songs on a cd that costs them $.35 to produce and which they expect us to pay $15 to $18. They are the pirates. They are the music thieves.

Fruityloops & low midi latency (ASIO)?

How can I turn on ASIO with fruitystudio 4???

My soundcard is terratec aureon fun 5.1 and it should support ASIO and also fruitystudio 4.1 should support ASIO low latency but when I go to fruity's section where I can set up latency and soundcard selections I just can't find anything about ASIO from anywhere. I think ASIO should be selected from same place where soundcard selection is but there are no ASIO option. I'm using windows XP with AMD computer. So should I install some drivers or what should I do?

This question was just like ASIO for dummies but I still need to know =(!

pc music notation writing

Rather than writing it on music paper manuscript I would like to do it on pc.

Try a look at noteworthy composer, (found it through Google). U can download a full working sample of it for free ( takes about 3 mins on dial up).
Full working version to try out at home and see what you think before you buy. It's a bit bulky and laborious but works really well. You could also try qubase (Think that's how you spell it). If you are midi-literate you can play on the keyboard and it transcribes to score as you play. Had a verion of it before, again it' s a bit fiddly to set up as it wants to decide note values itself and you can end up with time signatures of 15/9 etc which is a bit of a pain unless you are 100% accurate in you timing when playing. Good luck with these and if you find any better, let me know!

Hi there
A Primary school that I teach at is putting together a bid for ICT/Music Technology equipment. Looking at 4 P4 PCs with Soundblaster Audigy2 cards, 5.1 speakers, etc. with a minidisc recorder asigned to each computer.
Apart from Cubasis, the Coda series software (Notepad, Finale, etc.) and of course Sibelius, can any one help with good easy to use software for 7 - 11 year olds which introduces them to the concepts of editing techniques, and perhaps some simple composition and score-writing?

Suggestions gratefully received

hey stumbled on this website -- if you still need this: it's pretty simple- you're playing octaves in unison in between the verses -- for the verses, just play the bass notes, then play the unison octaves again for the choruses. just listen to the form.

Eb (1st inversion) | Bbm (2nd inversion)
Bbm (2nd inversion) | Fm
(repeats however many times)
then just play bass notes -- same changes
