Error message on Encore4.2

I recently went from windows ME to windows XP. Now my Encore 4.2 won't work. I get an error message as follows:

The procedure entry point SMapLS_IP_EBP_12 could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.

What can I do to make it work?

I got this same error:
: The procedure entry point SMapLS_IP_EBP_12 could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.
I just bought a new computer that has WinXP and Encore 4.2 no longer works. If anyone has found the solution to this problem PLEASE EMAIL ME AT cetinadj@muc.edu

Did you get a solution? I have the same problem.
