Need info

Hello, my name is Mauricio Porcel ans I would like you,
if it is possible, to give me some help with a little
problem I have. Well, I have a roland XP-50 and the
device I use to save my melodies into a diskette is not
working correctly, because I only can save my melodies
in SVQ format, not in midi format, and I do not have
any program that recognizes that format. Please if you
know a program like that, please tell me. Thanks.

here are so many ads and popups..its so lame..
now i even saw a GATOR eula poping up...NO GOOD !!!!

even warez sites have less !!

i am happy that i never did buy anything...coz if i bought some audiosoftware i would give them money to place their fucking ads here...

i will never buy something that i see in a ad or popup..

better go to zeropaid.com and get some fileshare-apps than waste your time here...unless you want to know how to convert ra to mp3 or so...

i just come here from time to time as entertainment...hehe

you can create classic music with every sequencer...but the problem is more the instruments...there are some sample cds or soundfonts for that..

but you can also make classic music with VST synths...its everything possible..

Copying files to disk

I got a music file off of WinMx which is the entire cd of system of a down. I can't figure out how to copy the file onto a disk with all tracks separated. Whenever I try, it just copies the first track of the cd and not the entire thing. Is there a way I can split the file up into tracks?

There is lot of software to do this in the software section above the questions. You need an editor to split the file you have.

Most of the time this question is asked when someone records an entire side of their cassette or LP into a continuous file. Because that is, the first step in archiving previously purchased music. The second step is to edit the long file because it needs splitting, or separated the recording into tracks. Have a look at CBF’s LP Ripper in the audio software section for windows.

In addition, a purchase through this site helps support this music information board portion....

As long as I know you can find plug-ins for protoolsLE in digidesing.com, I´m also trying to get upgrades for my protoolsLE, cause it´s a quite old one and doesn´t work with MacOsX, I have a digioo1 card sound instaled but my "old" protoolsLE version only works with OS9 sistem.. If you know something about upgrading it to get into OSX, I will be pleased if you mail me.

Audio conversion to harmonica tab

I am a beginning harmonica player wethout the ability to read music. I am seeking a way (software?)to covert my favorite music on CDs or recorded concerts on VCR tapes to harmonica tab so I can practice on my favorite tunes.

Unless the music comprises a single instrument, there's no way to determine which notes are being played by which instruments. Even those that work for one instrument aren't 100% correct, and this would only convert it into a MIDI track.

I'm afraid that what you're asking is impossible.

DV card capture

If you get no luck here (this is a music forum after all), then check out a video forum.

By the way, DV is digital and wouldn't be input through a analogue signal. DV (Firewire/iLink( is digital video and sound. If you already have a camera (DV obviously) then you may already have all you need. If you are thinking about spending a lot on a video card, you maybe better off with a used DV camcorder and a Firewire card..

This is a real problem for me too, just upgraded to XP thinking it would solve all my problems, now I've just got a pile of kit that won't work! If anyone knows where you can get Opcode Studio 64x XP drivers or any sort of fix please let me know.

Installing plugins

I don't get it - I downloaded a few interesting plugins for audio recording. All are for DirectX. I dropped the .dll files in the Windows/System folder (having been told the program that needed them would find them). My recording software (Anvil) can see only one of them and when I ask it to use it, I get an error message saying the extension was not properly installed. So, how does one "properly install" them?

A related question is, how do I get rid of (or even identify) those I no longer need? While previewing various recording packages, they installed them. Uninstalling the program left them on the machine. Anvil sees them but cannot use them. How do I find them to delete?

a DX plugin does not install by putting it to the system dir...
you have to register it with regserv32

the dll can be everywhere..

-Install:

regserv32 %P
-Uninstall:

regserv32 /u %P

%P = full path and name of plug e.g C:\cracked\plugin.dll

there also some apps that do that..i think from analog-x

Hissing sound want go away

I found so many of the music selections I downloaded from the net are ripped with very little care, and discovered the quality was lacking when I played them. In addition, did I get the entire recording from the same user before they went off line, or do I have a recording with two different volume levels.

I finally gave up, and I started purchasing my music from the secondhand stores… Used bookstores and many on line sites have original CD or LP you can purchase for a third the price of new – And they tell the truth Copy Protected or not copy protected… Since the current music is becoming Copy Protected – I have stopped buying new CDs….

Yet there is lots of software you can get, that will correct a lot of ripping errors or normalize the music you have archived. I use a program CDex to rip the music from the CDs I purchase, however sometimes the recording are not good, because the original CD is not as good as it should be. I use a program “White Tiger Standard” to clean it up. If it will not clean up this recording then I look for another CD in the used bookstores, and repurchase the same CD and rip it again.

I also use a program MP3 Decoder to go from .MP3 to .WAV file format because White Tiger Standard only cleans wave files. then I use CDex to take the music back to .MP3 format. I also use a program QuickEditor v4.0 to put the tags on all .MP3s as I want them labeled.

Depends what rate the MP3 was recorded at. Anything below 128kbps and hiss is going to be a problem. You could try Goldwave or something similar to try and reduce the hiss.

Yes, it is possible... A company (Streambox.com) released a utility that did this, but due to legal issues were forced to withdraw it... However you can get a hacked (free) version of the software at this link... (Working DOWNLOAD is on the left of the page)
