okay, this is to everyone and anyone who still needs the file ecdc.msi. after an agonizing search i found the file at ftp://ftp.imce.ru/pub/WIN/ and hopefully it's still there. with it i successfully uninstalled that stupid program and i hope you can uninstall it too! e-mail me if this helped!!

I had the same problem and found the missing file:

just download it and you can uninstall Easy CD Creator.

In Program Files doesn't appears the Easy CD creator program, but from add/remove features, when I want remove ECDC 5 Platinum (which is not installed) the PC ask me about ECDC5.msi file. Obviously, this file is not aviable, beacause the prevoiusly instalation of program was failed.

Is there no entry in Add/Remover programs for Easy CD? If not, it may be necessary to reinstall the program, then use Add/Remove to uninstall it properly.

C D Audio Card!!

If I try and play a recorded music C D, I don't get any sound and the speakers are on.

Now, if I put a visal & sound C D in, I get sound!!

Anybody have any suggestion please e-mial me, PLEASE?

Windows or MAC?

You do not say if you are using a window machine or a MAC. Also did this just happen or is this the first time you have put a music cd into your computer?

It sound to me if it is a windows machine you, do not have windows media player setup to AutoPlay, or you have deleted or lost your codecs.

Look in your window help files, or You can also open the Multimedia Properties dialog box at the CD Music tab by clicking Start, pointing to Settings, clicking Control Panel, double-clicking Multimedia, and then it will show you several tabs.
Audio will show you your sound card.
CD music will show your prferred player
Devices will show you a number of things - but make certain you have audio compression codecs.

If you are not using windows media player then I would go to the music player site and ask them directly. If you have no codecs then i would go to window update using IE; in the tool section left click on update, and download the newest version of windows media player. That will install the standard audio codecs

If you have a Mac then I would re-post your, question indicating that in the header - so a Mac user will be able to assist you.

Listen to Illogical – Security is why it has been updated - I believe the current version is 7.1... If you are downloading files - then you do not want this version, nor do you want this version on an Internet connected machine...

It is on your Windows installation disk. If you don't have your Windows disk, borrow someone elses. mplayer2.exe is on the Windows 98SE installation disk, for example. If you still can't find it, then just download WinAmp instead.

Be warned that older versions of Windows Media Player are a HUGE INTERNET SECURITY HOLE. So if you are online, then WMP is a doorway into your system.

I have a pc version of Logic Audio, but need to work with audio parts that were saved on a Mac as parts, rather than whole songs/ templates etc. Can anyone tell me how to do it?

Okay. Adats (2X 8 trs) were recorded into Logic Audio on a Mac, and saved as individually-numbered parts, rather than in a whole song format. Then they were put onto cdrs as data. I now have Logic in my pc (v4.6), but cannot import these files (which are presumably only readable by a Mac). Is that clearer now, and is there a way?

Your computer is slowing you down

I would suggest trying to import the audio files as raw audio data using whatever programs you can find that let you tell the system what the file is and not the other way around. That way, you can experiment until you correctly import the files. Regardless of the actual file formats, most audio files have similar characteristics, and audio can always be verified by merely forcing the data to be played. This is a process of experimentation, but you could take the guesswork out of it by researching the file format types involved. You will also need to make sure that nothing is being automatically converted without your knowledge (Internet Config, PC Exchange, Easy Open, etc).

Maybe you just need to rent or borrow a mac and resave the files as AIFF's or WAVE's. Use SoundApp on the Mac, and you can convert AIFF to WAVE. Just to be safe, you could then binhex them into the .HQX (internet posting) format.

I don't generally save anything other than 'song files' in Logic on my G4. I think the only thing that I can think of is to load the actual Audio files in there.

This should be quite simple. I think Logic on the Mac defaults to saving SDII (sound designer) files although some people (me included) often change those to .Aiff or .Wav to make it simple for editing on different platforms. I am not aware whether the MS compatible version of Logic reads SDII files.. It should do.

How much do you know about logic and importing audio files.. I can't help you with specific song "Parts" as it's not my experience. Audio I can do...

Steve - thanks for your time and trouble on this. I'm not experienced with Logic, and my problem is that the Adat originals have been transferred to files onto a Mac in the USA. Here in the UK I want to get at them on my pc with the Log Aud Platinium v 4.6 on my computer. I cannot go back to the originals and re-transfer. In that I've got a copy of the Mac Logic programme used, would it be my best bet to find a Mac Comp, and access the audio files in that way?

No probs.. The thing that will get us there is knowing what the files were saved as. I am still unclear whether they are just the Audio files or some sort of 'part' that I don't understand.

If so, you can generally (Mac only, Maybe??) drag any audio (uncompressed) file onto the arrange window, to a Audio track. You can also select the 'Audio Window' from the Logic menu and 'Import Audio' and then drag that resulting wave to the Arrange windows. You might want to try that with your Windows machine although I don't know how good Windows ever got with Drag and Drop..

Keep in touch.. Well get it there somehow. I am in the Uk and own a G4 and Logic platinum..

You could do it the old fashioned way: Generate a track/take sheet like professional engineers of days of yore.

Then you just load up your files.

In general, I tend to agree with SteveR; loading the audio files is the primary focus. If it's taking so long to come to a solution, it's time to look at the problem from a different angle.

Removing Aimster

No offense to Aimster, but I tried removing Aimster from my harddrive using the Add/Remove command on my WindowsME. The only problem is that now everytime I put turn on my computer a message appears saying that the Aimster icon cannot appear in my tray and that has happened everytime. It seems that the program has not been fully removed from my computer and I was wondering how I can remove it now that the main source file is gone?
