If you're talking about stuff you hear on the radio and on CDs, then it's impossible, since only the record companies have them.

Ok, but back to the original question, how can I remove the music from songs leaving the vocals? I know about the distortion to the music after removing vocals. I just want to remove music from songs leaving the vocals in whatever state they may be. If I sounded rude in the message above I certainly didn't mean to.

Nuendo, Kernel32.dll error HELP!!!!!!!!

Everytime I try to run Nuendo 1.5, I get the splashscreen then an error that says, Nuendo has caused an error in Kernel.dll, I've got an Athlon 1.3, sound blaster live value (could be the problem).. anyway, I couldn't get Cubase to work correctly either, would always give me a bluescreen error that said something about emuaps(01) error... anyway HELP HELP HELP... any thing would help and if you need more info I'll be glad to give it up

Just taking a wild guess here there maybe two problems if you have the cracked version of nuendo your crack may be broken.
The other thing you could be using directx7 somewere on your computer and this may cause a problem because cubase and nuendo use directx8 and not 7 so check your games and see if any of them have 7 and not 8 and that could and I stress could be the problem.

I can't get any CD player (including Windows Media Player) to read my .cda (standard cd audio) format cds.
Says it can't understand the format, that the recording must have been done with unsupported codec.
All other formats can be read. Can anyone help? Please.

well i finally found how to do it but it will be in AVI format so if u want it in mpeg do THIS 1st then once u got the AVI get a converter to make it a MPEG. ok here's what u do got to a search engine like www.google.com then in the search type snagit download it will give u the results just get the snagit program from whatever site u like a download it then after it has finished go to a site like www.atom.com to find streaming video now pick a movie then wait till it finishers the movie and click on the snagit program and set it up the way U like it then press the play bottom on the streaming movie and hit record on the snagit program (note u will need lots of harddrive space to make it better quality but u can keep the same quality if u wonna safe space)well if u have problems right back here so i can help u, i would have gaven the email but this is a stolen computer and if i write the email out the person will no that i stole it cause i kinda was his/her friend but they pissed me off one day so when they when on holidays me & my bro's broke into the house and stole EVERYTHING from tv's,dvd player,systems,PC,playstaton2 etc we cleaned the whole house out (that'll teach the person not to mess with the TNT BOYZ) any way that was a bit to much info there but WHO CARES well L8ER guyz peace-out

So you want to have a program to make bass, drum and keyboard to play along with? Well I would suggest a regular midi composer but generic midi sound canvases that come with computers and sound cards are generally crappy. I got mine bundled with my motherboard a yamaha XG sound canvas. Regularly the midi just isnt as good as it can be and you get a very synth sound, im my opinion.

For creating them I would suggest Acid Pro from www.sonicfoundry.com you take loops and sound sample then put them all together, theres effects and such but the problem is finding loops which you can use and if your willing to spend the money Id say it would be worth to get acid pro + some of the sound loops they sell. Check out the 15-30 day demo. Maybe thats more of what your looking for.

Cakewalk Pro Audio is (i beleive) a midi composer which then converts to mp3. If you are willing to pay for it(pretty expensive) then it would probably be the best soution.

Im sure others have better solutions.

Putting an old 78 record onto a CD

You should also use an audio restoration application to eliminate scratches, clips & hum noises. Search this site's download pages for details...

Assuming you have a record player that can play it, and it is connected to an amplifier that has a tape output, then the answer is yes. If the amplifier hasn't, then it get's more difficult.

If the answer is yes to the first two, then connect the tape output to the line in of your sound card and get hold of a program to record the sound (there are plenty in the software section here). Once you've recorded the sound and saved it as a WAV file, you then use something like Nero or Easy CD to write the file to a CD.

I'm looking for software that will let me break up a long audio track (a 45 minute concert, say) into multiple tracks so that when I'm playing the CD I can jump quickly to the parts I want to hear again. What I'd like to do is: (1)using Ahead Nero or Roxio software, capture the source CD into a .wav file; (2) jump around, listening to various parts; (3) pick three or four places of interest and insert track marks there; (4) write the result out to CD using Nero. What I'd like to end up with, if possible, is a four- or five-track equivalent, with no pause between the tracks. Can anybody suggest a software package that will let me do this? Many thanks.

This might help:
Use Wavelab to delete the pauses generated by your DAE (Digital Audio Extraction) application, and when you put the wavs in Nero be sure to remove the 2 second gap that's automatically inserted by selecting all tracks and choosing properties (your CD-R might not support this feature)...

There aren't any pauses that need to be removed. What I've got is one long continuous .wav and I want to put track marks so that I can go right to some place in the middle without having to fast-forward to get there. Thanks for responding, though.

DirectX Plugins With Cooledit Pro HELP!!!

I'm having trouble using all my directx plugins with Cool Edit Pro Ver1.2 . W hen i try and use one this message comes up:-
ACTIVEMOVIE INTERFACE :- Unable to connect to specified filter. This is because it does not match specified filter (mono vs stereo).

Is this something to do with DirectX or Activemovie interface and what shall i do.

Reason is a great place to start. It's a fully featured program that includes drum machines right across to an excellent sampler module. It's not cheap but for what you get, it's not expensive either. You can live without a Midi controller keyboard but it is advised that you have one as there are some excellent mapped samples to be used from Pianos to Drums.

I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to create drum tracks in windows and export them to a drum machine? If so what program(s) can be used for doing this.

You can use a midi sequencer, & a midi cable to connect your PC with the drum machine. You create the patterns on the computer & you hear the drum machine play them. A mid sequence that uses wavs is described here .. http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/wwwboard/messages/81117.html
