...alright, I did it for you, below....

The process is known as time stretching and retains the original pitch whilst changing the tempo. It's reliable up to a point although if you are trying to change the speed drastically, then you will notice a major change in the apparent quality of the sound

Wavelab 3.4 has some nice features (crossfading songs with different volumes, tempo & pitch change)...

A good audio editor such as <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Cool_Edit_2k/">Cool Edit 2000</a> will do the job.

You can use Total Recorder Software from www.highcriteria.com to convert real audio files to wav.

Possiby a compatibility issue, try uninstalling then reinstalling your soundcard's drivers...

You'll find a lot of label printing software <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/cat/LABEL_PRINTING/">here</a>.

There are many CD burning programs but <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Nero_win32/">Nero</a> is about the best!

does any one know where i can get SURETHING CD LABELER full version, have tried amazon.com been waiting 4 weeks and they now say could be another 6 weeks, they seem to be the only place in the uk, looked at some US places but they want a lot of money to send it over.

Winamp won't list the visuals I've loaded

Winamp won't list the visuals I've loaded, even though
I've set the visuals path in options to:
c:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins
and also tried:
c:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins\avs

but all I get are 2 visualisations, one of which doesn't work because I haven't got an MMX chip.

Any ideas?

Check if you have latest directX, & video card drivers.
Even if they don't work they should appear on Winamp's options/visualizations folder...

How to get from MIDI to MP3?

Hallo .. 1st question on this forum - I just got me a MIDI controller keyboard and understand the basic basics, but what's confusing me - when I create a song with audio and MIDI, what are the stages to mix the song down to a Wav file so I can make it into MP3 ... I can't think of anything other than converting the MIDI tracks into Wav (audio) files and taking it from there. Is this right? And if so, how the dickens do you do it?

Thanks on behalf of all the thickies to those who spend the time answering these questions (you know who you are) - I'll be able to answer more when I've learned a bit more :o)

You can scroll down the disussion list & see the replies about Mid to Wav, 2 ways are described.
Fast way
In a sequencer (Cubase, Cakewalk) you can do this:
Mute all tracks except the one you need to convert.
Record enable a clean track, & hit record.
(Check the mixer settings if it doesn't work)

After the mixdown use a converter to convert it to mp3 format (recommended settings 320Kb/sec HQ=On)...

I have tried Harmony assistant although I don't know whether to take it seriously or not. I laughed through the first couple of demo songs. I have the Mac version although there appears to be a windows one too. Click the link for a laugh...!

Every midi secuencer has an option of seeing the mid song on music sheet & printing it. See download section.
If you got a soundblaster soundcard there is such a program in your computer...

Try encoding it to mp3 at 320 with high quality on, it's the best solution.
There is a program called Wavezip that promises compression up to 60% & no quality loss, but you'd have to test it first ...

Get hold of an audio editor like <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/GoldWave/">Goldwave</a>. Then edit the song so you have the verses you want. Then reduce its sample rate from 44.1 to 22.1khz and convert it to mono. That should save you considerable space. I'm working off the assumption you are using a WAV not an MP3.

Hey .....i bought fruityloops 3....jus wonderin about the names of other music creation programs ..."like" fruityloops 3 that are more complex....round $500 australian.............preferably below....but programs that can really get that ambience and special..."atmosphere"...out of a song....or do i just need more enlightened soundz.....
